Mgs5 had a budget the size of Canada's GDP, Twice the dev time, a bigger dev team, and Hideo Freaking Kojima (who has like three to four decades experience) as the producer/everything.

This is his last game for Konami and the company knows it.

Comparing that game to DAI is like comparing a college football team like UT with a NFL team like the Patriots. Sure UT makes loads of money, and has great athletes. But the NFL is orders of magnitudes a bigger deal.

That said: could have DAI done better? Sure! Will Bioware ever make a game like Kojima? Maybe eight years from now.

And I bet there's no romance in MGS..

Clearly, you don't know the love that can exist between a man and his weapon.  Nono, not that weapon.  The other one!

Phantom Pain does certain aspects of running an organization noticeably better, but so far (15 hours in to the Phantom Pain) it's mostly a numbers game and a means through which to develop Mother Base as a manufacturer of cool weapons and gadgets. Which is totally fine, but it also means that it has none of the excellent role-playing potential that the War Table displayed. It's closer to Assassin's Creed in that things are either pass/fail with no meaningful choice involved.

Please don't. More people read this thread who play MGSV than just the OP.

Inquisition is almost a different type of game to MGS5. They share similarities in the story writing perhaps in the general tone, but the gameplay of both games is so different.

Inquisition plays out differently because of the way its' gameplay is, they didn't put as much gameplay as they could've put in however >.>(like the beginning cutscene, we could've had THAT as our tutorial over 15 minutes into the game).

Oranges to apples though.

Pass. Once was enough for me when I played Metal Gear Solid. Even bought the soundtrack. But I'm not interested in that type of conflict again.

I can't remember which title, but I vaguely remember running around in a box. That was the most fun I had in a MGS game.

Wow, Nice graphics. Definitively the expression of the faces are way superior to the plastic cartoonish of DAI. People with real hair!!!!!!! Yeaaaahhh!!! It seems for what I saw in the video, that it's a game catering for a more adult group of video gamers. Compared to it, DAI seems like the Snow White story but with a villain that is more like the Coyote (and the inquisitor, the roadrunner) than the evil queen. I think you did a great favor to MGS5 and a huge disfavor to Bioware showing this video here. It will invite a lot of people to play what it seems an excellent game that was very well produced.

EDIT: Upon reflection.

Not sure if you're serious, but I'll bite anyway.

As a gamer, I couldn't really care less what other people choose to play. I play different games, from different companies. I like BioWare games, I also loved the Witcher 3, I love Saints Row, hell.. I used to love Nintendo as a kid. I don't get this us vs them mentality.

The OPer constantly posts comparison threads. Everyone gets it; hell, I understand it too. People were disappointed with Inquisition and it has many flaws. On the other hand, most of the board users like it and have no issues whatsoever.

What people need to get, is that it isn't gonna change. Inquisition will be what it is. Maybe in the future, the next Dragon Age game will be more appealing to some. It will definitely disappoint others. There will be fans. Same story, with any game.

The OP claims in an early post that they put in 300 plus hours and that it was painful.. seriously, why bother? If it sucked from the get go, get a refund, trade it in, sell it on eBay, whatever you can do.

The new MGS is probably a good game. Fans of DAI will likely enjoy it, as well as those who didn't like DAI. Gamers don't have to be in little "gangs" and stick to one company. It's about the product and how well it can entertain, and it depends entirely on the individual and their tastes.

I admit, I was a d-bag. But I'm more or less making light of the situation. I'm not pissed, I'm not frothing at the mouth and I'm not "Bioware defence force assemble".

Dutch... why are you still here? What do you gain by being an a*shole? Nothing. You gain no friendship and no respect. Why do you insist on sh*tting on Dragon Age?

DAI being on last gen is why DAI was not as good as it should have been.

Given that they dropped support pretty quickly, it suggests even they now realise it was an unwise decision to release it on 7th gen, especially when one considers the design compromises that it forced on them. I get the impression they had to wind back their ambitions quite a bit to maintain some kind of parity across platforms, which is a shame. Then again, it seems like the kind of decision (sales/marketing) that might have been made by EA rather than Bioware themselves.

The fact that TW3 sold over 6 million units where DAI despite being on more systems, two of which forced Bioware to make big compromises didn't come close shows it was a very bad choice.

What has number of sold Witcher copies got to do with whether last gen choices for DAI was bad?

Because being last gen forced Bioware to make compromises, compromises that hurt the game in the long run. Last gen already had issues running DAI at its current state and certain things where not even available on the last gen (some CC sliders) so there's no way in hell DAi with all the futures and plans Bioware wanted would have ran on last gen.

TW3 on the other hand is only on the PC, xbone and PS4, and it sold over 6 million copies and is still selling well. EA or Bioware simply made a really bad choice and cutting dlc support was the right choice.

And DAI hasn't sold well? Is that your point? If so I would really like to see your proof of that.

DAi didn't sell over 6 million copies despite being on more systems, systems that forced Bioware to make unnecessary compromises. The fact that Bioware cut support for last gen versions shows that these versions didn't sell good and was a waste of resources and time, resources and time spent on making PC, xbone and PS4 versions better.

What ever the PC, PS4 and xbone versions sold well does not excuse the fact that EA and Bioware wasted time on a last gen version that forced them to make compromises that had no pay off. That is simply bad business.
