DAi didn't sell over 6 million copies despite being on more systems, systems that forced Bioware to make unnecessary compromises. The fact that Bioware cut support for last gen versions shows that these versions didn't sell good and was a waste of resources and time, resources and time spent on making PC, xbone and PS4 versions better.

What ever the PC, PS4 and xbone versions sold well does not excuse the fact that EA and Bioware wasted time on a last gen version that forced them to make compromises that had no pay off. That is simply bad business.

So you know how much they sold then?

Not as much a Witcher 3 did, end of story.

How do you know? Do you work at EA?

Bioware could hardly drop last gen in 2014 after all the work put into it.

Believe me, they would have announced it if they broke CDPR´s record.

Until then it is their "best selling title ever".

Why would they though? It's not a competition between the two

Uh, yes they are. Just because they respect eachother does not mean they don't want to beat eachother, that's business. Maybe Bioware might not care, but EA?

Great point. People forger, at the end of the day this is a business and the goal of them is to increase shareholder value, profits, and market share. Bioware might be buddy buddy with CDPR but EA is an all different monster. If they had the numbers that showed that DAI sold 7 million in 6 weeks......we would have known by now. Just imagine how much confidence EA investors would have if EA proved that DAI sold better than TW3.

Why do you think that would be the case, though?  It is, to my understanding, their official policy to not reveal numbers for their  games.  Why should they make an exception to their policy for one game?  I'd think investors would care more about profit and payout than they would specifically about units sold.

EA released numbers in the past such as for Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.

Because by beating a very hyped game by a company that has a very good reputation with gamers it would wade off alot of fear investors for EA and would be amazing word oft he mouth.

They also released numbers for their old games, so I see no reason why they would not show them if they sold over 6 mil, which would be an amazing number for a crpg.

Pretty much this. After Trespasser I'll be uninstalling DAI for good. I will probably never play it again because it's a mediocre product, the sour note of the DA franchise in my opinion.

EA no longer posts sales number for any game, including things that sell for more than any non-Skyrim RPG such as EA sports or Battlefield games. They're not going to change their policy just to go ''nu-uh!'' at a publisher that overall makes a fraction of their own revenues.

It may very well be possible that TW3 sold more, but since we don't have hard data it is pointless to affirm that it did or did not.

MGS V is very probably going to outsell them both anyway. The series is very popular. And Fallout 4 will probably sell more than TW3 and DAI combined, as Skyrim did.

If you report any numbers it immediately raises questions about why you're not reporting all of them.

Having a blanket policy helps EA since they can just talk about their overall success instead. People don't seem that bothered since EA's stock has been on fire.

I believe I just heard a mic drop.  ^_^

Seriously, though. Apples and oranges. I don't really want MGS's level of crazy in my DAI, though. I mean, in the beginning of the game, you're chased by a flaming man on a flaming horse. I know, you're talking about force building, but that started in Peace Walker, not MGS5. They're just making better what they already did.

Makes sense. We will see how long that last though. Eventually they will get the urge to report on something, especially if their stock price falls and they need something to give them a boost.

Still, I have strong doubts that DAI sold more than TW3. Of course strong supporters of DAI would disagree, but they are free to do so.

I doubt strong supporters even care, the only ones that actually do are you and Dutch

Investors don't care how much a game sold. They only care about EA's revenue and profits + share price.

Why don't you uninstall the game now? You should do it instead of constantly mouthing off about it. Why support them more?
