I would actually like to see the rest of Bull's Chargers appear as playable in DAMP, I know they have a chance to die but Leliana, Oghren, Morrigan and a few other 'Companions' have had their deaths retconned due to plot convenience. They have character backgrounds already so they don't need to write anything new for them unless they want to expand; they all have specializations and possibly unique powers to play with; plus between them you have a S+S (Grim), a 2h Fighter (Krem), an Elven Archer (Skinner), a real Dwarven Demolition Expert (Rocky), an Alchemical Healer (Stitches), and an Elf who is obviously a Mage even though she says no (Dalish). They, as a group, cover a large number of bases for what people have been asking for.

Fenris also is on the list of possibly dead, themageguy, and I'm uncertain if his death is canon or retconned.

In no particular order, here are some other characters that have made it in the series in one form or another that have backstories, specializations and are most likely alive that could make it into multiplayer if we're lucky. This list will include their spec and weapon possibilities:

  • Dog (Barkspawn) -there's three of them at least that main characters have had follow them, they're a warrior spec with special powers. As for weapons sharp claws and big nasty teeth *does his best Monty Python hand gesture for teeth*
  • Finn - Human, Male; Mage; Spirit Healer and Staff for weapon. He survives The Witch Hunt as far as I know
  • Ariane - Dalish Elf Female; Warrior, Champion, Last Seen Dual Wielding Long Swords
  • Fenarel - Dalish Elf, Male; Warrior but Possible switched to Rogue due to his Penchant for the Longbow (The safe parting of Merril is considered canon, so he lives)
  • Lily - Human Female Rogue, Assassin or Duelist Spec, Dual Wielding but uses a main hand mace (Her fate is unknown)
  • Soris - City Elf, Male; Warrior; no known spec but probably something unique; S+S when in party
  • Sketch - Circle Elf, Male; Spirit Healer; Staff; He's made appearances in both DA:O (Leliana's Song) and DA 2
  • Sigrun - Legion Dwarf, Female; Rogue, Grey Warden (Conditional); Assassin or Unique Scout spec; Dual Wielding Axe and Dagger
  • Velanna - Dalish Elf, Female; Mage, Grey Warden (Conditional); Keeper/Elemental hybrid; Staff
  • Nathaniel Howe - Human, Male; Rogue, Grey Warden (Conditional); Assassin with his own tool kit; Longbow
  • Zevran Arainai - Antivan Elf, Male; Rogue; Unique Assassin; Dual Swords and those fantastic Dalish Gloves and Antivan Leather Boots
  • Aveline Vallen - Human, Female; Warrior Goddess; Guardian Spec (Champion +); Sword and Shield
  • Tallis - Qunari Elf, Female; Rogue; Assassin Templar Hybrid; Daggers
  • Commander Cullen - Human, Male; Warrior; Real Templar not that pansy thing we have now; Sword and Shield or Single Sword Dueling Stance

Pala may be classed warrior but she promotes in cunning making her more rogue than warrior. I do not play rogues. 200 cunning no need. And I'm trying to get 250 before they nerf the saarabas. Also another warrior would promote healthy players.

Bulls chargers are an excellent idea.

I support this idea fully.

I doubt there is enough existing dialogue from SP to just grab, but they should be able to use some of it.

+1. Great idea.

Great ideas !

Soris or Feneral would make great candidates for Dalish warriors!

Im relatively new to da:i and mp, but i love brainstorming ideas for new characters.

I agree with the thought that one more unique character needs to be added to even things out, but i also have had several ideas for more "generic" characters. Think the retaliation dlc for ME3 where previously used character models and abilities were shuffled around to add more variety.

Warriors:
Warden/champion: offense/support focussed. Been suggested a ton i know, but dual wielding (ala duncan) or another s&s warrior, with cassandra's rally ability specifically would be badass. You could even mimic the templar and change the boosts vs. demons to darkspawn instead.

Chevalier/Defender/Aveline: defense focussed. i want a knight with a giant ridiculous feathery helmet. Also more tanking options besides the legionnaire. Could have mechanics that the more damage they take, the more buffs they give to allies. Or... Something... FEATHER HELMET.

Berserker/Oghren: offense focussed. Another one thats been suggested a lot. I would want oghren specifically. He's too damn lovable not to. Theres a few items with the berserker buff on it so the mechanics would just have to be tweaked a little. Basically i imagine him building off each kill, progessively hitting harder and harder each time, but at the same time instead of bouncing back and forth between life and death like the reaver He would just become more and more vulnerable to damage, making him extremely high risk/high reward.

Rogues:
Harlequin: defense focussed. I think someone in this thread already suggested it, but you could use it to create a sort of rogue tank. One that revolves around taunting (laughing clown?) coupled with evade and counter style of playing. "House of repose wanted to apologize for the contract on josephine and sent one of their agents to aid the inquisition" sorta thing.

Chasind stalker/infiltrator/crow: offense/support focussed. Bow user specializing in poison damage. Could maybe use Cole's focus ability.

Ranger: offense focussed. Another frequently suggested. Have a legitimate damn pet class in this game. Or at the very least make them a centric ability of the hunter. He's a fun class but lacks a real bread and butter move.

Mages:
Shapeshifter/Witch of the Wilds/Chasind Shaman: offense/defense focussed. Threw in the shaman thing in case shapeshifter or WotW didnt work canonically. The character would be a fast paced, melee oriented mage that switched between the two forms to temporarilly tank/soak up damage and then dish it back out. Plus the models for bears and wolves already exist, so i think this poor misbegotten class from origins needs a chance at redemption.

Spirit healer: defense/support focussed: Purely defensive mage that could use revival (resurrecting would be op, but maybe could be used to pick up downed teammates from a distance) or a toned down version of Vivienne's resurgence for heal over time. Sometimes i just like being a healer, y'know? And DA:I being very much so anti-traditional healer kinda drives me crazy.

Shaper: Buffer/debuffer: a scholar/historian from orzammar thats a sort of artificial mage. Utilizing runes and enchantments from the shaperate, his abilities would be themed after memory and time. Imagine renamed versions of fallback plan, disruption field, and Dorian's focus ability haste. Not so good at the killing thing, but amazing at controlling the battlefield or making his teammates stronger.

A lot of these ideas arent very original, but i wanted at least 3 of each class to add some more spice and variety to MP characters.

The most logical thing would be elven archer or warrior sword+shield I presume
Skills might be elemental auras for party like changing damage to chosen element or giving resistance to chosen element something like that

I also wouldn't mind seeing a Tempest warrior. That new flask of fire upgrade could mean dishing out powerful abilities to knock our enemies about.

Thanks for the idea Kihm

You think we'll get more stuff? Your optimism is admirable.

Maybe a black elf would be a good idea?

You have seen a genetics chart for melanin/skin color before correct? :P That really pale assassin could have both Black parents and we'd never know without seeing them. Plus, I don't think Thornton is even black if that's whom you spoke of, he's sitting out in Thedas's version of Australia that doesn't have as thick a layer of O-zone so he tanned way easier. Cillian (Our friendly neighborhood Arcane Warrior) also has extremely tanned flesh, but he and Neira are both from the same clan and she's ultra pale. The only real wildcard comes in the form of Isabela who went from pale with red hair in DA:O to pure Caramel Goodness in DA 2 and a few shades darker in DA:I, but that may be a tan with the combination of sea water and constant sun taming her hair to a deep auburn.

As for Single Player we had a handful with a name and personal story behind them (These characters may or may not be, this is based on the character skin tone which can be false based on genes :P): Delrin Barris (Possible Knight Commander of the Templars); Vivienne who could end up on the seat as Divine if she weren't so cynical about everything; Breaker Thram (Reaver extraordinaire); Kihm (Tempest of Awesome).
