Yep. He has an unusual passion in his voice when he speaks of the Veil to the Inquisitor. He wants to do away with the Veil. He may infact be the person who put it there in the first place? As far as I know, it's hinted that it's not a natural part of the world and is man/elven made.

 

It may not even be elven made, but only elven reinforced.

 

Depends how far back we can or wanna go.

 

If the 'Maker' did it (which may never be proven, but still theoretically added to in supposed evidence), then there's probably reason to why 'time magic' is introduced - the 'Maker' works in the present, and beyond it, in the 'creation' of the Fade, Thedas, and the Veil.

 

Solas may not even want the Veil destroyed, but instead made into an altered form that makes 'Thedas' and the 'Fade' more one and the same. End the Veil by making it something else. Complete the work of the 'Maker'.

I've lived a sheltered life and only played as a rogue. The rogue in DAI fits my style of fighting. No sword and shield warriors or two handed weapon warriors, give me two daggers or swords and I'm happy. Mage would be my second choice to play since they get powerful as they go up in level. A lot of times I'll take control of Solas or Dorian to whip out the high level spells. Just wish mages could use daggers or something.

Solas is worst trickster god ever. He wanted trick Cory to open Orb and die, failed. Flemeth knew Solas is coming.

Nobody really knows what his true motive giving that orb to Cory/Inquisitor, would he release the Elven gods to destroy the shems?
