So, I've searched Google and the forums, and I'm not finding an answer to this question...  It's driving me nuts, and I'm hoping someone can help me figure it out.  

 

After installing the latest patch/update for my Xbox One, my buddy Randy and I played with my Reaver and his Arcane Warrior.  In the top left corner of the screen, we saw empty circles with the Stamina/Mana meters on them.  Basically, they were in the same location as the health/stamina/mana character portraits from single-player, except there was no portrait.  It was just empty and see through inside the circle.  Also, though barriers and guard would register next to these if they were generated/active, the health bars did not appear next to the portraits.  

 

We were both really confused by this.  When we switched up our characters, some of them displayed a portrait inside the circle, but there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which characters would display a portrait, nor did the image match any of our portraits unlocked via Challenges.

 

So, does anyone know anything about this?  

 

For the record, I think it would be incredibly useful to keep the party health/stamina/mana meters there, it's much easier to see it and account for other party members, but it would be MORE useful, in my opinion, if the health bar was included there as well.  

 

While I'm giving out opinions, I would also like to mention that I think it would be incredibly helpful to have SOME kind of icon for each character — perhaps their chosen portrait if not some default version — to indicate which party member it represents.  There was only the two of us in our match/lobby tonight, so that wasn't an issue, but with three or more people that could get a little confusing.

Also I seen elelementalist have a picture of a guy in a hat? Archer has leaping shot logo.

I'm not suggesting that health bars exist in both places, that would be redundant.  Me, personally?  I would rather see them up in the top left than floating over their heads.  I know the health bars stay on the screen even if you can't see the other players, but it's a pain in the flank to search for them, I feel.  Having a go-to spot on the screen to see this information would be more useful to me.

Yep, I noticed that for both of those characters.  If given the choice, I'd rather see the player-selected character portrait appear there.

I just played a match where a guy died and immediately left. One of the icon was the red skull and it stayed for all the match, even after the guy left.

The only one with a portrait was a Legio, while the others (including mine) were empty except for the stamina bar.

Yes this needs to be addressed sooner than later.

 

One game no portrait hud at all.

Next game the circles are there but only one portrait.

Next game some half circles.

I like the idea of them being there as it shows guard, barriers and of course the skull but if the system is not working then just scrap it.

I saw this with my archer,

It was, bizarre, 4 circles. One had Leaping Shot inside the circle, the other were blank other than an occasional blue circle and Mark of Death showing up every so often in the 4th one.

The next game it didn't show up at all so I thought it was an archer thing.

That's super weird.  

 

I saw the Leaping Shot icon for my archer too.  Of the characters that my friend and I tested it with, (Archer, Legionnaire, Elementalist, Arcane Warrior and Reaver), only the first three of those had portraits.  The Legionnaire and Elementalist had these weird headshot style portraits with transparent backgrounds.  There was no continuity with it.  Annoying.  >.<

I got the impression that the icons completely disappeared (stamina/mana bars and all) when you teleport between zones on the randomized levels.

I don't remember which character I was playing with, but there was a player icon in the corner that looked like a guy. I went through the icons to figure out what it was and I'm guessing it is supposed to be Cullen because near it are Leliana and Josephine. It just doesn't look like Cullen. Leliana and Josephine use their tarot card images where as Cullen looks like a cartoon.

Awww.... I kinda like it.  Just wished it showed people's chosen portraits and health.

...but again, if it worked just like in the SP (including portrait and health), it would be a great help.

 

Especially if an overzealous Reaver decides to try out their newly gained divinity at the other end of a zone in FC, and are silently bleeding out before I happen to turn my camera and see the red skull.

I was playing with two Archers and they both had the "100 successful Archer runs"-portrait. That's when I actually started thinking it wasn't a bug.

In my experience, the information is accurate, merely incomplete (because it doesn't show health, and it doesn't always specify which character is which).
