Yesterday, I received Tezpadam's Bane (level 26 unique bow) from a store chest.  I do not have, nor have I ever received, the Lyrium-Reinforced Longbow (level 26 rare bow) that was formerly a prerequisite.  These used to drop only from the perilous and nightmare dragons.

 

So unless this is a bug and I'm ruining it by posting this, it looks like Bioware has listened to the various threads suggesting that there were too many weapons locked behind the dragons, and has added the patch 9 weapons to the general loot pool.

 

Anyone else had a similar drop?

You're right. As Luke said in another thread (too lazy to quote), now there is even a chance (tiny one) to pull a Hakkon out of the chests. So yes, and for once I don't say this sarcastically, working as intended.

Wait, are you serious? Hakkon drops from chests now? Any indication on the drop rate?

I think Luke said in top loot score, you get 10% chance to pull an item from top bucket, and within that top bucket there is a 10% chance of hakkon

I'm wondering if that means we can get duplicates of hakkon weapons now for higher base dmg roll

There is 1% chance of Hakkon from the top bucket.

Nah, it's not indicated anywhere. It goes by number of chests opened. I think...10,000 chests opened is the top? Something like that?

 

EDIT: Items received, it seems. 10,000 is the top tier.

Its number of items looted. Chests, dragons and treasure rooms all count.

 

It's 10.000 items to get into the final tier i believe.

RNG still screws me, even in the top bucket. I have around 1,600,000+ gold spent, almost always open treasure rooms, lots of dragons killed. Pretty sure I am in the top bucket.

At the top loot tier you have a 10% chance to pull an item from the top bucket.  Then you have about a 1% chance, not 10% chance of Hakkon.  So .1% chance overall at the highest loot table.  In other words 99.9% of the time you won't get one.  Another way of looking at it is that on average (assuming you open the 2k gold boxes) you would have to spend 250k gold to get 1 Hakkon.  But thanks to it being random, some lucky person may get 5 of them during that time while 4 others get 0.

Pretty sure you are 6400+  (then add in treasure rooms etc.)   and unless you have earned 3600 items from games..... 

 

You could be, I've played 3391 games.    I don't know how many games you have played.

Would guess yes.  Luke confirmed that you can get a 2nd Hakkon dagger if it drops from the chest.  Granted at the highest drop pool you only have a .1% chance of getting one but still.

Btw they do drop from chests... Went on a spending spree and got one

Pretty stupid question, but how can I see how many I've played? I could add up all the agents completions but that doesn't include the Operations failed ones, the 100 or so games I lost with Izzy and Virtuoso before they started counting, etc. etc.

So the level 26 blues used to be a requirement for the purples from the dragon... but now you can get the purples from the chests.  Is the blue item still a requirement to get the purple from the dragon?
