according to arabs.

and they do at least two of those things. Its not without merit, people are going to be more obedient and lawful if they can expect such harsh justice. keeps more people out of jail, more tax payer money for other stuff.

You probably missed the third line if you think that this punishment system is "justified".

In countries that implement this kind of "justice" system, people are being burned and stoned to death because of rumors of "witchcraft" and homosexuality.

none of the rich countries believe in witchcraft, and even ireland, the land of more than 90% anglocatholics (who only a couple of generations ago didn't even use contraception because they're such hardcore Catholic) accept homosexuality by law. I'd take the advice of prison systems from pretty much any other nation except America, the law over there is just completely out of control and the media are just stirring up controversy, provoking violence from both the police and the citizens, and they don't give a **** how many people get hurt in the process.

Err... am I supposed to be the american giving you advice?... I never even visited the USA.

Just saying that taking cues from some of the most barbaric "justice" systems on earth on how best to punish criminals, might not be such a great idea.

Yeah, while the US is certainly not the best in terms of their justice system (wtg Denmark), it's in no way, shape or form anywhere near the worst either. That honor goes to the likes of India, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Venezuela et al.. They're like the Anti-Justice League.

yeah that was unfair and untrue. Bali is pretty awful too, the police there is basically a pack of gangsters.

I'd rather the whole system be removed and replaced with the approval system of Dragon Age.

Morality is rarely ever binary like the Paragon/Renegade system tries to make it into.

This there is no such think as good and evil only motives. Great example Feniris and Anders.

Fenris sister is mage. Anders: You bloody hypocrite you don't hate mages you jealous.

Give Fenris to Danarius. Anders +5 friendship

Aside from the good/evil stuff, I just want NPC's/companions to remember the things I choose and react accordingly based on their own morals and motivations. I find it's much more fun when I can see a different side of a character based on the things I choose and getting different dialogue for various dispositions. I don't want any yes-men personalities on the ship. Sure, I want them to follow orders, but I don't want them to like my PC unconditionally.

As long as they don't go back to the ME1&2 system where you had to choose one and stick to it.

Anyway plenty of situations in ME3 the renegade option was better than the paragon. Mostly it did not matter. I thought it was fairly well balanced.

It's all good and well in theory, but in practice it can lead to situations where you question why character X is not simply going his own way / requesting transfer to another unit / trying to kill you when you sleep.

(This of course is not going to happen most of the time because of various reasons.)

Agreed, except that I'd like to add ME1 skills back on top of the ME3 system. The way Reputation works in ME3 it's difficult to fail a Charm or Intimidate check unless you blow off most of the sidequests. I'd like to be able to play a non-persuasive character from time to time

But my problem with it is that along the way Renegade changed from a pragmatic person to just a jerk who is a huge di*k to everyone around him. Renegades should be manipulative. Paragons should be compasionate.

Example: "My wife was killed by X"

Paragon: I understand your pain

Renegade: We'll make them pay

But so far all we have is:

P: I understand your pain

R: Cry me a river

I agree that the renegade choices were often poorly implemented. It was advertised as being Jack Bauer in space, but the implementation often strayed from that into pointless jerkface or stupid evil territory.
