Hi guys,

been through all the topic for CCs.. but to no avail for now. I just found one, but it's too "noble looking" for a scoundrel rogue I'm actually trying to build.. Anyone knows of good sliders for a male rogue dwarf?

I haven't played through on a male Dwarf.  The story I imagine for Inquisition doesn't fit that sort of character.  That being said, there are a couple of sliders that I enjoyed.

Mmm.. nice ones... but they don't fit a scoundrel, they're... too handsome and well-groomed.. I need something nasty!! ;) But thanks, I'll keep them noted for a warrior, should I make it!

Sorry...forgot to mention...Reddit isn't that common here in Italy... we barely know it.. that's the reason I didn't delve in it...

I like the second one you showed me Phyre... and a beard finally! :)

Someone has got others or can tell me how to look for 'em?

No worries, I tend to only veer into Reddit for sliders and spoilers.  Otherwise, I avoid it, too, lol.  Here's a link to the thread on Reddit devoted to character sliders as a whole: https://www.reddit.c...uisitionsliders

To find something specific in there, you can use the search option off to the right-hand of the thread.  I used "dwarf male" and got a veritable list of interesting sliders.  Make sure if you do a search, that you click on the option just to the bottom of the search window called "limit my search" or you'll end up with results from the entirety of Reddit and feel overwhelmed/lost.

The sliders themselves have little icons that give you a heads-up what the sliders involve.  So "D" is for dwarf, "E" for elf, "H" for human and "Q" for Qunari, "M" or "F" for male or female respectively, and then sometimes "celeb" for celebrity look-alike or more.

Hope that helps, fingers crossed.

Done looking at the dwarf males. Not much in stock really... The best remains that which you have shown me... I think I'll use it! As a rogue, I think it'll do his job.

Thanks again...

P.s. poor dwarves...so overlooked....

Depends on whether you want to go for "full dwarf" (this will be a matter of opinion, but...) or human-looking dwarf. I made my DM more like the former- probably my fav or 2nd fav character I've ever made- by more or less maxing out the features, particularly the jaw and nose, but also the eyebrows and cheeks. You might have to raise the mouth and nose as well (I think I did). Blunchard's a bit more rugged, so maybe it's more what you're after if you want a "scoundrel":

It's not bad, not at all!

I'd like to keep this "rude" look but not look too human. Just (if you played it) like it was if you started Origin as a dwarf commoner... know what I mean?

If you got some sliders, please post them!

P.s. who's Blunchard? :)

Blunchard is the name of that DM character I showed you. Sliders... yeesh. I followed the links from phyreblade74 above to his very battle-hardened DM: it would take lots and lots of screenshots (30+?) to get every one of the slider screens. Sorry, too lazy. XD

I like the gruff look when I make a dwarf (or qunari), not exactly a rude look since it's got... erm... heart? (I made a rude- nasty even- snooty elf male I later deleted- two actually...) But it's nothing like my own looks- tall and skinny. I go for an appearance that radiates character but also looks quintessentially dwarf or elf or whatever- so the priority isn't on being me in the game as much as making what I'm playing "fit" very well for the game. More "third person," you know? The character is already "me" in the sense that it was I who came up with the appearance myself, I who decided what I liked best, and I who chose to run with it for 100+hrs (more like 200+). But then again I like the whole CC process- will take hours at it sometimes- followed by running with a character that's unquestionably my creation. I've seen some great morphs from players who post here- love looking at them- but I'd never play their characters. Gotta be my own- even if it's not Mr. Cookie Cutter.

One of the things that I do, Slack83er, is to pick a character with sliders that have the actual shape of the face that I prefer.  But I change up the complexion and colors and hair and etc until I finally get a character that fits my own preferred story and feelings.  Once, I only used the sliders enough to get the nose shape of a character what I wanted it to be, for instance.  Everything else was purely my own twist and manipulation.

Perhaps you could do something similar, shrug.

Good point Phyre. I'll try doing this, as soon as I finish all the DLCs with my Qun Mage. :)

So i just completed my playthrough with my Qunari Mage, and look forward to tomorrow for the last dlc. But this evening I'd like to begin my new dwarf. I have seen and tried quite a lot of dwarves, but I can't get it to the right appearance. While on cc they look good, but once in game they really suck. I should go for a dwarven scoundrel... But even playing a noble dwarf with 2h weapon lures me... I'm just not sure of what to do... Oh well.. Guess I'll just drink beer and burp...

Keep in mind that, so long as you get to Haven, you can immediately get access to the Black Emporium and revisit the CC run. Then you can see what the in-game appearance is prior to getting any further with the story- going in and out of the CC as needed until you've "got it." I had the same issue making a dwarf female- always different (worse) in game than it seemed in the CC- had to restart the character 3 times. The bright white light with green tinges of the initial area doesn't exactly help either. Just keep at it. You get better at it with practice like anything else.

As to "scoundrel" or "noble," I'm not sure the game really has much selection that way as to choices, but now that you've played it through once already you know the main choices you'll face. If you're going to play the story choices you didn't pick last time, make your dwarf to fit that somehow. It's mostly all "head canon" anyway.

Sorry, as I'm not native English... What's the meaning of head canon? I keep seeing this canon everywhere...

The word "canon" in the rpg world anyway regards the official narrative of the game. When you say "head canon" it refers to the personal narrative you have going in your head along with- but regardless of- the official game narrative. So if you want to play a scoundrel of a dwarf, the conversation options you get may not really reflect precisely the personality you're going for, but you still pick a choice that approximates a scoundrel's response and imagine the character of the unfolding events as affected by the scoundrel's guile- or the noble's snootiness or whatever. It would be great if the game's canon included a choice and event path that perfectly represented what you'd want, but generally it doesn't- and sometimes it's nothing like what you'd want- so... you pretend things happened your own way. >:-) Something like that...

Ohh thanks Bhry! Now I fully understand the meaning of so many posts round here:)

So if I understand correctly, my head canon would be the scoundrel dwarf I'd like to build, and play just like he went from Karta and into the events, even if it means being... let's say rude or smelly ;) haha

The thing is... I have in mind what he is... it's just.."converting" it into a pleasant game experience that's hard...

I went with bald and bold but as a rigue. Emporium helps as duplicating sliders is tough. Use the nose as a guide and forehead position on the pucture frane box to determine sliders

They better have numbers in the next 1

I used to like bald&bold, but I really disliked that huge nose... I still can't find a proper archetype.... Too few dwarf player in this world... sigh... :?
