- Thanks for nerfing the hell out of the templar and the lego.  At least that is how I've seen things play out since unbowed was turfed for the new skill.  I used to be able to clutch perilous matches once I got to about level 10-11, no more.  Slow cooldown, the damage buff is noticeable but far from awesomesauce, the damage resistance seems good until it suddnely wears off and your health goes down in chunks.  Is there even a way to know when the thing is going to wear off?  In short I friggin hate that change.  Give an option to use that skill?  By all means, remove the best way of maintaining relaible guard?  Craptastic.

- Tried the storm belt a number of times is tremdensous on threatening, and is very noticeable on perilous with  my keeper, both with chain lightning and static cage, however after a number of games I just don't think it is worth it.  Two arrows will kill your full health  keeper and if you are a titch down health wise one arrow will do it.  You can surive with your barrier a good part of the game but wave 5 is a death sentecne for the most part unless you are luck and never being targetted.

- Has anyone had a successful host migration since the last patch?  I have left as host in a couple of games and rather than go to the lobby it kicks me out totally, I've had about 3 games where other hosts have left and each time I was disconnected as well.

- What is with all the lousy speedrunners in pugs all of a sudden?  A new reason to collect gold for the store and almost every game I had this am it was dash and ignore pots and rooms.

Storm belt is awesome for the AW and thats about it.  The other fire and ice belts I wouldn't touch without several hundred warrior promotions or at the least 160 promotes for will/con/cunning because it makes you way too squishie without someone constantly putting barrier up for you, and of course by that time I probably wouldn't really need them.

I've been noticing the same thing with host migrations.  If the leader leaves for whatever reason and you get the Host Migration in Progress notice, shortly after you get kicked back to the lobby and get the host migration failed notice.  Granted has only happened a few times since the update but have had 0 successful host migrations on games in progress.

As far as speeders I have seen them too but not as many.

Beerfish, I agree with you about the Lego and Templar.  I was really hoping you'd weigh in on the Walking Fortress nerf though.  That's the bigger problem for the Lego, in my opinion.  I've posted my thoughts in multiple threads and won't repeat them here, except to say again that Walking Fortress did not need an adjustment and the new Lego is pretty terrible.

I think they will be put to good use for skillful players in the right group and the damage is very worthwhile but who daddy, an archer looks at you cross eyed and you go down.

What was nerfed for that?  Duration by any chance because it doesn;t last long and by no means makes up for getitng rid of unbowed.  I really think that has been a huge mistake.

Yea, I was wreaking everything on my keeper on threatening then went to perilous at lvl 10.  As soon a barrier went down, poof dead.  Found out from the fade though that I had less than 200 hp.  Ouch.  Worth it though on the AW as Ill always have barrier up once Im lvl 2 or higher.

The 1 second recharge every time you were hit with WF was was removed.  Probably because bolters made you impossible to kill combined with preventing multiple stacks of Livid.

Pretty much agree with everything you said. Livid is garbage with a way too long cooldown.

I went back to shield wall to build guard on my templar. Havent played lego since patch but he still has war cry at least.

Belinda was my favorite character and Unbowed, imo, is like stealth to an assassin being damn near essential. I haven't rolled a sword/board since the update, so I can't know from experience however Beerfish's viewpoint is worrisome.

My host migrations have failed 0/3 times as well and I've seen a drastic increase in the amount of times I get sent to Narnia.

snip

Since this is about the changes I have a few comments to make

1. STOP whining about nerf this buff that, everytime the dev do that the whine about the changes is greater than the original whine
2. Bolters chance of appearing is greatly reduce and this is due to the whining about the bolters and disappointing not to see them more oftern
3. Play more as a TEAM if you want to use some new stuff such as the storm/cold/inferno belts. If the tank wears the Amulet of Aggression to aggro the enemies and you wearing storm belt wear Amulet of Accord to reduce the threat then you will likely not be targeted. This is good for level 1s and those who whine Sarrabas is squishy.
4. If everyone wears Amulet of Accord for their own skin, then it will not do much good will it?
5. Mix and match new items helps this much more than before
6. New drakescale armors have no built in resistence so don't whine if your using it, personally i don't like it because it makes everyone look the same. No color variations...

7. Don't say i want both ways, be a defensive rock and a DPS rocket. It JUST breaks the game.

enuff ranting...

1. STOP whining about nerf this buff that, everytime the dev do that the whine about the changes is greater than the original whine

They have made a FUNDAMENTAL changee to two clases, classs that are suposed to be tanks, to stay on their feet and to res players who are downed, it is far harder to do their job now than what it was.

2. Bolters chance of appearing is greatly reduce and this is due to the whining about the bolters and disappointing not to see them more oftern

Bolters were just fine as they were, special tactics and luck were needed against them.  What bolters has to do wtih my original post is anyones guess though.

3. Play more as a TEAM if you want to use some new stuff such as the storm/cold/inferno belts. If the tank wears the Amulet of Aggression to aggro the enemies and you wearing storm

LOL, yeah when a person is pugging that works, also it doesn't matter if you play as a team or not, the classes are so squshiy that you get hit you go down.

belt wear Amulet of Accord to reduce the threat then you will likely not be targeted. This is good for level 1s and those who whine Sarrabas is squishy.

So I have to get rid of my useful amulet and wear one i do not want to wear so i have a less chance of getting targetted, i also do not have an amulet of accord.

4. If everyone wears Amulet of Accord for their own skin, then it will not do much good will it?

I have no clue as to what you said above.

5. Mix and match new items helps this much more than before

I have no idea what you are talking about above or how it relates to my post.

6. New drakescale armors have no built in resistence so don't whine if your using it, personally i don't like it because it makes everyone look the same. No color variations...

1: sometimes its the only way to get the devs to pay attention to a skill that may need to be nudged one way or the other.

2: can we get some proof they are still even in the game? from my experience the entire dwarf faction seems to have been removed. some confirmation would be nice.

3: sometimes this isn't possible in pug lobbies, otherwise yes i agree

4: stating the obvious doesn't help anybody does it? plus promotionlords can do what they want lol

5: less than you'd think to be honest apart from a few pendants playing nice with the new belts, there isn't much reason to switch up gear.

6: the difference in defense is honestly so small though i doubt people are gonna die and complain "if only i had that 6% defense i wouldn't have died there!".

7: see reaver, silent sister, this already exist in the game.

Well, Beerfish has his right to comment on the recent changes... I am not sure why every opinion that doesn't agree with the "creative" decisions at BW has to be called ranting now.

There are things are like from the changes, there are things I don't. What I don't like is:

1) Unreliable guard generation on the SS. I have already gotten this quite a few times and it sucks that you go into a game and BAM! You're not generating guard at all. That of course, means that you have to leave and find a new game because she's not surviving without any (on a normally promoted person).

2) WF nerf. This is ridiculous. And the fun part is of course that as usual, the ones who get hit the most of it are the underpromoted people. If you have 100% crit chance, flow of battle will make the change quite more insignificant but for the rest of us, it's a dealbreaker. RIP Lego, until the day I promote 13432151 more rogues.

3) TTD design change. I mean like wut.

The thing that annoys me the most though is poor communication from the development team about all the changes. What they do is change 20 things, document 5, then Wavebend reports 10 more and the rest you have to find out for yourself. And then they wonder why we are all worried about "ninja nerfs".

Yes, dwarfs are still in the game.  Run into them several times since the patch and most of the time includes bolters.  Every once in a while you will get a zone 4 with none of them there but they have not been removed.

1. It causes too much waffling since it seems only one person really is trying to work on the changes

2. seems some players can confirm this

3. PUG is a PUG

4. to a PL it really doesn't matter unless they are trolling each other

5. first time any accessories worked with each other, too bad we are at the final stages of DAMP

6. just to put it out there

7. i see people complain reaver is squishy, SS changes i see people whining already and i think SS is response to all the issues with AW but is sort of a issue. Guess was meant to be a warrior but couldn't get away from a rogue due to dual daggers.

Probably should state which platform.

It may be an issue specific to ps4 (or one of the others).

You can add the Livid bonus damage that doesn't seem to work properly.

I was trying to stack Wintersbreath (berserk 50% damage) with it and I clearly don't do more damage. In fact, I do less damage than using the Shield alone (without Livid). But you can be sure that if Berserk doesn't stack on the "me dealing damage" aspect, the "me receiving 50% more damage" is working flawlessly...

Conclusion, either use Livid or any Berserk weapon/shield, not both as you're gimping yourself.

I also hate they removed the cooldown reduction on Walking Fortress. It was perfectly fine as it was, the "abuse" was possible against only 1 faction (Darkspawn) on 1 wave (wave 4) on 1 map (Ferelden Castle). I think that's pretty low odds enough... It's far from totally unusable in its current form, but it's severely lacking now. They should lower Walking Fortress' cooldown to at least 24 seconds to compensate.

I'll have to check out To The Death new mechanic when it's actually working because right now it's completely useless. Due to the casting animation duration, TTD was already only useful on Nightmare and Heartbreaker, now I don't even know why I'd pick it up. The fact it generated Guard was its saving grace, the new mechanic will have to be freaking awesome to compensate for that...

I'm on a ps4 and I saw them twice in a row when I had darkspawn... on routine. (Was speed running the weekly challenge.)

Indeed.

There used to be a nice sticky with all changes. I don't know why this got unsticky'd but this was a wonderful collection of relevant information.

I greatly appreciate how the team works every day towards improving this awesome game, but they really need to step it up on that department. Quite sloppy imo.

Encountered them twice on Friday (solo PC Threatening runs for challenge) and both times they had bolters on Wave 4.

The storm belt is great on the AW, however with my low/medium promotions he loses a lot in terms of survivability. With 70 constitution my health drops down to just 2 bars when i switch from belt of health to the storm belt.

That said, it's ****** awesome to hit 4000's with chain lightning and over 1000 with hakkon crits.

And the bolters seem to be random on wave 4 of the darkspawn. Some matches they are there, some they aren't.
