Yeah, thats true. I ran NM with the storm belted chain lightning and stone fist, and SB and fade cloak filled out the last 2 spots. I'm not really sure which of those skills i'd drop for PotA. the storm belted CL is there for massive damage and charging SB, stonefist for sleep status and fade cloak is mandatory on NM. Pre-patch i used to run my AW with PotA instead of SB, but since the charge system i actually prefer SB.
The AW offers a couple options. You can build him around the sleep combo, you can build him around Spirit Blade and you can build him as an Hybrid. Honestly, if it works for you then you're playing him right.
With that out of the way, this is more what I meant when saying build around POTA + Spirit Blade:
I now roll Fade Step, Fade Cloak, POTA and Spirit Blade.
It's really basic:
- POTA to get everything in a tight spot
- Fade Step to close in and build my Barrier (because of FS damage)
- Fade Cloak on arrival to avoid damage
- While waiting for Fade Cloak to detonate, use Spirit Blade to great effectiveness since enemies are all bunched up together
- Fade Cloak detonates, deal great damage, knocks down most enemies and charge Spirit Blade
- Finish things with Spirit Blade
Everything in that build synergize very well. It's all about getting enemies in a tight spot and benefit from that as much as you can.
The only characters that can clear a group of enemies faster than this are the Reaver (Dragon Rage) and the Sister (Deathblow). It makes Nightmare runs relatively easy, your team work much better because of your crowd control while you deal a lot of damage too.
My opinion is that the "FS, FC, POTA, SB" build is the most effective for Nightmare while the sleep combo build is most effective for Perilous and lower difficulties. The reasoning behind this is simple: at one point, everything dies too fast on lower difficulties to actually pull off the "FS, FC, POTA, SB" build.
