So I noticed that the loot from the Descent DLC is pretty good, the schematics included. However, one thing I've noticed with weapons is that they have a lot of main stat compared to what you get from a crafted one. For example, there is no crafted dagger comparable in Dexterity to Silencer, which gives 21 Dex. I can't get any dex with the Stone Stalker Blades I craft.

Same goes with the staves, and bows I found throughout. I really can't decide whether the main stat (STR, Dex or Magic) is worth taking over maybe slightly more DPS and other stats. Any thoughts?

Same thing happened with the Hakkon weapons. More buff than you could give the crafted versions. This is fine because each Hakkon schematic needs at least 40 slot materials anyway so they aren't really weaker, but the Hakkon's Wisdom Staff is way to weak compared to the others because of it's low material slots.

My main concern is Superb runes which I put out only to the very best equipment since they are limited. I am not sure whether I should spend them on crafted ones, or the dropped weapons, which will depend on the decision of which one to use.

Ultimately- it's not likely to make a big difference. You can also dupe superb runes at Skyhold- in the undercroft- if you've a mind to do so.

I mean 21 dex is really

10.5 attack

21 crit damage

12 metal offense is really 24 attack

4 leather is really 14 crit damage

The schematic gives a better damage modifier if you're already capped on crit (<50% crit chance) 4 crit chance is technically worth 7 crit damage though, which is what you could get from a leather offense slots that would give you 4 crit chance. Obviously you can't trade that crit chance on a found weapon, but that's what it's worth.

I would personally go for the crafting variant to masterwork it, thus netting the highest dagger weapon damage in the game as of now.
