I wouldn't mind having a Swedish character

You wanna end up in a firefight only to realize that someone took the bullets out of your gun so you can't offend the green people?

You still wanna buy a game from Bioware? You are new customers arent you? In my case I wont buy a game which only have one purpose to make a promotion for the political correctness or a game which is just a product for retards or stupid childs. Unfortunately this is exactly what EA/Bioware produced the last years. And they will produce nothing else anymore.

Nope.  The Alliance is recruiting from Vancouver and London only.

... and where did you get this information from? ^^;

Nordics are simply Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. UK is counted in West Europe.

https://en.wikipedia...Northern_Europe

Northern Europe and the Nordic countries are two separate things.

I live in North Europe and haven't heard anyone using Northern Europe. North Europe itself does not include countries below Denmark, since those are either in west, east or middle Europe.

We need Ivan the Space Biker.

Ah yes, 'budget constraints', a term used when people think something isn't worth the time of day. We have dismissed this claim. :P

But seriously, I'm all game for some Norse, Ethiopian, and other such Europeans. We don't need no more Brits or Russians in space!

Seriously?

Ethiopians are Europeans?..... I never knew that.

Broganisity has already corrected himself. You didn't feel like reading any further before you smugly put the boot in?

If you look at a map of Europe you will see that the UK's land mass reaches further north than that of Denmark.

In my country (Czech republic) was Great Britain and Ireland always situated in Western Europe too. There is more then one definition of Northern Europe, it differs from state to state and none of them is ultimately valid.

And that GB is more north then Denmark at one point? Well, Belarus is more north then Denmark too yet no one consider it Northern Europe.

I'm not using any particular country's definition, but the UN one - http://unstats.un.or...49/m49regin.htm

I know and this definition is accepted only by some countries. Other like mine are sticking with their own traditional definitions, especially when these idiots in UN situated Czech republic to Eastern Europe which is considered highly offensive by most Czechs.

Why is that considered offensive, where do you see yourselves (not trying to be offensive here just curious)?

Czech republic is part of Central Europe, term completely ignored by UN, even when it is older then this organisation.

Point is that Czechs were historically and culturally always closer to Western Europe then Eastern (Russia, Belarus and Ukraine), we are Western Slav nation and after collapse and disintegration of Austria-Hungary we accept western form of government so this region was considered bridge between West and East.

But UN count us as Eastern Europe only because we were part of Eastern block after WWII even when some classification situated us in Western Europe till then. Add this to fact that we were military occupied by Soviet forces for 22 years and you should see why we don't want to be forced in same box as them. For us East Europe begins on Ukraine borders.

Any other nationality put in the game would still be speaking English, just with a heavily accented voice.

+1 for Ivan the spacebiker !

+1 for Peter Stormare :D ... Love that scene :D

...

Uhm... beyond that I don't really think I would care other than variety of the accents I hear... I mean... it's not gonna matter much for the story(characters story)/plot is it?

I'd love this! More accents! The Alliance is supposed to represent all of humanity. So far, I think I've only heard 2 French people, 1 South African, 1 Indian, 1 Australian, few Irish, several British, lots of Americans (or Canadians?).

Can't think of any other accents (on humans).

Well we know in the world of Mass Effect humans are less racially diverse than the world we know today.  It never really discusses cultural diversity back on Earth, but of course, if the Milky Wayers left in the midst of the Reaper war, then the pool of humans for the selection process would be limited to those in the Alliance, colonists, and refugees stuck on the Citadel.  So baring a whole series of colony worlds exclusively made up of a given racial and cultural group, it would make little sense to have Star Trek like diversity.  I would expect primarily English-speaking members of mixed racial heritage.  Of course, there can always be one or two exceptions providing such is supported by logic.
