I'm on Xbone and after patch 10 the game choose my Divine for ME, I pick Leliana and it changes to Vivi??? is this a bug others are having as well; Started another game from scratch and now I can't get conversation with Leliana at all!!!!.

Are the Devs trolling us? I saw Vivi as the Divine in the leaked trailer, I hate  having to start a third game without recruiting Vivi only to have the game choose Cassandra instead because it won't let me talk to and choose Leliana.

Any suggestions ?

You don't choose who the next Divine will be, your decisions throughout the game do.

As for your other problem, it might be a bug, or you need to wait for a messenger to show up and talk to her.

There is a formula based on various dialogue and choices.  When you choose to support someone as divine, it just adds a bit in their favor, but that doesn't necessarily mean their score will be higher than one of the other candidates' scores.

The wiki has a section on the mechanics of the election here.

Since patch 10 the game has chosen my Divine contrary to my ignore choices, I pick Leliana and the game changes this to Vivi, I'm on Xbone and Im wondering if others are having this problem too?

I dislike that I started another game from scratch and now the game won't even let me talk to Leliana to choose her!

I would hate to start a third game without recruiting Vivi to have the game choose Cassandra because I can't talk to Leliana!.

We are given in-game options to choose our Divine and now the game is turning around and disregarding these choices to impose its own.

As other people said, the game selects a Divine based on what actions you take and the dialogue choices you make. You can nudge it towards a candidate by declaring support for one person over the others, but it won't necessarily select that person.

If you support the circle and the templars Vivienne is going to be divine

If you support the mages and freedom Leliana is going to be divine

If you support the ideas of cassandra, the templars and the seekers Cassandra is going to be divine

It's actually said in the game that the Inquisition is not even invited to the election, so it makes sense in-universe that you can't just pick whomever you like. Your choices simply affect the opinions of those making the actual decision.

Your actual choices throughout the game influence who becomes the Divine, rather than a single War Table operation. Go figure.

Back to the tavern with me. I have to fulfill my one-thread-quota.

Thanks everyone for the info!

But I was more irritated by the game saying Here make a choice and it actually didn't matter, i.e.. talking and choosing to back a candidate regardless of prior choices made in game, it seems pointless to have these even in the game if the choice is made by other factors in game play.

Second post because I accidentally erased first trying to edit (doh)

Your explicit endorsement can tilt the balance.  Just not if you've been consistently sticking to the polices of one of the candidates.

No you don't get it you can essentially pick your divine but you have to take the necessary steps in backing them on their quest to become divine. If you tell All three go for divine then they all have a chance. But if your 'main/canon' Inquisitor believe in one person then tell only that person you believe in them, and not the others. Then go on to back that person on their war to be quest and anything else they ask of you.

Oh, and saving a couple thousand lives, because Vivienne can't keep things in order without an iron hand.

Does a real mage treat her fellow mages like dirt only because they wanted more freedom than toilet and back?

Interesting, dear Iron Lady.

Did you know that Stalin's real name was Dzugashvili? Stal translates into "steel" in Russian.

Just a wonderful historical fact, my dear Iron Lady.

My Dear this war gets us no where as mages. It only causes people to fear magic and us even more and not in the good way. Magic is meant to serve man not rule over him remember.

Just because one of my many titles is associated with that of a common material that is placed in the titles of those who believe whole heartily in their abilities and endeavors, whatever they may be. Does not mean I share that person's traits nor their ideals.

And darling no Stalin ever existed in my world here in Thedas, just a wonderful historical fact for you my dear Serza.
