Welcome to my build on the new character, Saarebas.

Before continuing, I want to say that to use this build to its complete efficiency you will need the Superb Belt of the Storm Pact and Heart of Pride.  Good luck, and may RNG be in your favor.

Recommended alternative staffs are Hakkon's Wisdom, Scepter of Razikale, or Isana's Staff.  There are no comparable alternatives to the Superb Belt of the Storm Pact (for this build/order).

Now, onto the build.

Abilities

Saar-Taar Shield (+ optional, but recommended)

     - Your barrier equivalent.  Noticeable for giving everyone, regardless of distance, 65% barrier when done in the finishing stance.

Ring of Asaaranda +

     - Provides buffs to you and your team.  For this build we are primarily interested in its flow stance, which increases attack speed by 30%

Gaatlok Blast +

     - Your secondary damage ability.  Opening is useful for knocking down a single target, and flow is useful for large damage as well as Discharge cross-class combo.

Itwa-Adim Explosion +

     - Your primary damage ability.  We prefer it's opening ability for a strong AoE attack, but also can use its flow ability for fear proc's when needed.

Passives

Guardian Spirit

Static Charge

From Knowledge, Strength

In Knowledge, Power

Guard Smasher (recommended)

What Is and Is Not (recommended)

In Ignorance, Weakness (recommended)

From Power, Mastery (recommended)

How to Play

First i'll start by describing the "ideal" order of abilities.

-First round of Stances

Opening ability depends on if you are the first to engage a group of enemies, or if your team has already started.  If you are engaging begin with Saar-Taar shield.  If you are joining/in the fray open up with Itwa-Adim Explosion.  Your flow ability should be Ring of Asaaranda, in a conveniently placed location to keep LoS on enemies.  Finish with Saar-Taar Shield.

-Second round of Stances

Open with Itwa-Adim Explosion.  Flow ability should be Gaatlok Blast.  Finish with Saar-Taar shield.

- Third round of Stances

Open with Itwa-Adim Explosion.  Flow ability should be Gaatlok Blast.  Finish with Saar-Taar shield.

Go back to First round.

This order provides you and teammates with a surge in attack speed and a constant stream of barrier, while being able to apply bursts of damage to groups of enemies.

However you will need to remain watchful when playing NM+ for Lightning resistant enemies.  Use Gaatlok Burst in the opening stance for knockdown and damage.  Follow up with Itwa-Adim Explosion for fire damage and AoE fear on other enemies or alternatively you could use Gaatlok Burst again (The first strike is cold damage, and it will still discharge on enemies who can be paralyzed)

Or more much efficiently, let teammates kill them while you remain focused on killing enemies/barrier'ing all the things.

And of course, respond best to the situation at hand.

Almost about to die?  Try using Saar-Tar Shield open or flow.  It could give you the chance you need.

Need a knockdown?  Open with Gaatlok Burst, or Discharge.

Teammate/s go down?  Liberally apply fear to enemies using Itwa-Adim Explosion flow ability and top off barriers.

Running around a lot?  Dont bother putting down Ring of Asaaranda, wont get much use anyway.

Finally, I've provided an excerpt of the kit in action, done on Nightmare.  Done in a solo to show strictly her capabilities, not teammates (though keep them around, pesky lightning immune enemies).  Stats are 35/35/35.

Heart of Pride as a requirement? :(

Looks like a fun build, although it's likely to be ineffective on Nightmare.

If you want to think of it this way I could reword it to option #1.  Hakkon should be similar in damage (assuming you can consistently crit) when dealing lightning, and do more when using cold/fire spells.  However Heart of Pride casts faster, thus quicker barrier and abilites.  Its sort of a trade off.

And its actually very effective on NM.  Alright damage (much better when facing groups), and Barriers for the team out the ass.

I couldnt make my last build work on NM no matter what I tried.  Was messing around and ended up here.  Surprise surprise, it actually works on NM.  Even in Pugs.

This is a very fun build. In my very limited experience it seems to suffer the exact same problem I had with equipping the Superb Belt of Storm Pact on my Arcane Warrior, when your forced to break your routine, things go bad fast.

I can't revive fellow players due to barrier decay and spell interrupts are often fatal. I just played a round of nightmare with your build and never took a single hit to health until wave 4 where I got chain killed straight into the fade all because my Finishing cast of Barrier got interrupted and I could never recover.

Your builds given me a lot of inspiration, so thank you for that.

Ahh didn't notice that this was in nightmare. nice!

Man I wish I had Heart of Pride. Everything looks so much faster. It even allows you to rely on barrier, which is insane.

I run something like this on nm but do not have heart if pride yet its a smash. I do not even use barrier ability just rely in guardian spirit and heal in kill and the increase HP passive lots of fun watching my health bounce around sort if like mage reaver .

Completed a nm run op and died only once. But I play her at range though "Archer range" and nuke enemies from afar after setting up glyph, so stormbringer in addutiin to static charge in the build I tested. Fade step to safety if in danger. Fade step and nuke as fast as possible when around ranged damage enemies.

It is absolutely insane. I haz it. Athlok Burst works way better with it of course, and it is the reason why i say zoom zoom works dodging projectiles. Enemies literally cannot catch up to you if you're agile and have that staff. You can even outrun their projectiles. That plus CC / AoE abilities / Ranged abilities mean enemies are dead from your kiting or LoS AoE / CC's.

There's a lot of ways to play her. The ring definitely nice and stacks too, but isn't necessary once you have the shield. Its the Speed Ring / Shield / Pride Combo that's really absurd for carrying teams.

I of course prefer killing the enemies, and this is a bit slow for my tastes. Not using that belt makes it more reliable to fight up close. Using that belt makes you super-glassy if you get trolled at all (anything can and will kill you). I much prefer close combat to ranged because of time issues but ranged has its place, and is fun too.

My single target dps is much much much higher using the bacon barrage ability, and the CC from Athlok Burst is amazing, especially when allies shatter it. What we did earlier was when the enemies were out of ranged had had melee only, i stood in front of my Archer friend and intercepted everything coming toward them, while they leaping shot against a wall, and longshot shattered all the frozen targets if my Athlok Burst 1 fire AoE didn't get them first.  Its really really fun. Can do this from line of sight too.

I have the belt and heart of pride and this build is super fun. I love walking the razor edge that this requires :) BTW I am using the barrier ring and the finish for the barrier gives 95 percent which is awesome.

P.S. The arcane warrior is also a blast with this belt :)

I created a similar build on my own and play it very much as you described it. Work very well even on NM (and I am not that highly promoted)

I saw no need for a secondary damage ability and kept Leap which proves very useful for mobility and getting you out of trouble (maybe more useful for low promoted players).

All in all it is a very nice build to support your party and still do some damage. I like it :)

Yea only downside is it has no upgrade slots which mean (for me ) I have to use at least one SHoK ring .... but it´s worth it.

(I realized in a good party I can play this build easy without HoK)
