Hey everybody,
since this is my favourite skill in the game, I shall take great pleasure in potentially misleading you with biased observations devoid of any mathematical evidence; and all of it not even enclosed in a snazzy YouTube-video. So if you're still reading this, here are a few facts that struck me about the new Spike Trap (Nike Trap) and how it comes to effect:
- The cooldown has been greatly reduced from 12 to 8 seconds
- The bleed damage seems to bypass armor, since it is the same for most enemies (Perilous) but I cannot be certain of course.
It is very useful in its own right, for ever to often I blew a group sky high, and they lived (and remained dangerous) with less than 10% of their health left.
- The animation has been changed, from "tying-your-shoes" to the "dropping-behind-you", as seen with FBP
- The startup time of the skill is slightly higher now - it must be less than a full second, but it is noticeable.
Together, this means it is now harder -or requires a different approach- to use "offensively", as well as "spontaneously" having an aggro'ed enemy charging another player trip over it, and fun like that.
I am still missing the ability to stay in Stealth, and it is harder to use it sometimes because of it no longer being an instant cast, but the vastly reduced cooldown and utility of the Bleed damage bring different advantages for certain.
I hope this clears a few things up for some, or at least provided a fine opportunity to practice one's reading skills for the rest.
P.S.: Again, observations. Corrections are openly welcomed and possibly due.
P.P.S.: Any builds shared in this thread automatically become my property in the internets.
