Ok on Facbook Bioware asks, What will Solas have to say? (it wont let me comment on FB, so I made this a topic on here)

Personally I have never fully romanced Solas, mostly due to not like being dalish. I am a City elf at heart on the rare times that I do play as an elf. Aside from that, he is one of my Inquisitors best friends and for me he is one of my favorite characters in the whole DA trilogy. As for what I would ask him hmmm where shall I begin. I would ask why he didn't trust me with the truth? What is he planing? or was planning? Are you ok? Who are you really? etc etc but I would really like to hug him, I mean he is one my inquisitors best friends after all and I am sure some could agree that we are worried about him. (for me even if he is up to no good)

Was your mother an egg?

I feel like I'm one of the few without questions. The only question that MIGHT spring to mind is "why did you leave?", other than that I'm not much concerned with hobo elves disappearing as long as the threat to Thedas is gone. I never got his approval up high anyway so I was never buddy-buddy with him.

So I guess as a serious answer my only question would be "Why did you leave?"

Well as someone with more knowledge than the Inquisitor I would ask "what are you? Mage? Demon? God?" I would ask why he gave his orb to Cory.

I just hope this will not be another Witch hunt that answered nothing.

I think he's mostly referring to the Mark acting up, but we'll most likely also be able to ask why he left and wtf is going on! Those are what I want to ask him!

'Can I have my masterwork staff back please?'

Solas's stuff goes back in your inventory. I noticed his armor did.

As for my question, it will be: "Solas, why did you (redacted by Quietus, the elven goddess of censorship)"

What will Solas have to say?  Probably something like what we got in Witch Hunt.

"There is a great conflict coming, which I must prepare for.  I cannot speak further on it (because the writers haven't figured it out yet), but be ready, because I will need your aid when the time comes (if we pretend we're going to give conclusive answers, will you please buy Dragon Age 4?)."

Heck, what was the quote I recall from the panel?  "You may not walk away completely satisfied, but you will walk away utterly intrigued."  That's pretty clearly indicating they have no actual answers to provide except for vague sequel hooks.

I can't decide whether to ask a load of intelligent and insightful questions to impress him or just punching the smarmy eggface right in the snozzle

I didn't even romance him but GODDAMMIT SOLAS I FEEL SO BETRAYED

It's going to be very Inky dependent.  A few who are actually friendly will indeed have some questions about the orb, him, etc.  I'd say at least half, though, will simply ask something like, "Just one question.  Are you going to stand still and make this easy for me, or are you going to make me break a sweat to whack you, you nug humping son of a tusket?"

Three questions:

1) What is your name?

2) What is your quest?

3) What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

I liked Solas-as-Solas, but as someone who loathes being repeatedly used and discarded by the writers' pet supermage clique to further their stories at the expense of my characters' stories and lives, my only question to Solas-as-Fen'Harel would be, "How bad is this going to screw my character over, and is there even a possibility for a decent ending in this?"

As Lazarillo said, I wouldn't expect any useful answers out of him. Especially in a sense that is meant to be satisfying for the player character and not just a sequel-tease for the player.

Why did you give the Elder One the Orb?  Was it all a part of some plan?  Was it a mistake?  Were you using him?  Are you trying to merge the fade and real world?  TELL ME OR YOU GET AN ARROW TO THE FACE.

The Inquisitor doesn't know that he is the Dread Wolf, or that he absorbed Flemeth, or that he gave the orb to Corypheus.

So there is no real guarantee that we can even ask those questions.

This is very true. I think the only one who would be most suspicious of Solas having any involvement in all that, and that being the reason he ran away, would be a female elf mage who romanced him. You learn a lot and get a better view of how he feels about elves, the orb, and this lingering sense of guilt he seems to have... Plus, in the fade, his gravestone says his greatest fear is "Dying alone." So why in blob's name would he run away from you?

Most inquisitors would have a lingering suspicion of him likely, due to things like his knowledge and the facts Leliana uncovers after he flees. But I think a lot of inquisitors are probably just thinking he ran away because:

A) Corypheus is dealt with, the immediate danger is over, time for him to go back to his dreamy lala land or whatever

B ) He is an apostate mage with extremely controversial views, in the middle of the army of the faithful. Even if your Quizzy isn't into Andraste, all your soldiers are, and eventually tensions will rise with the main threat disposed of.

However, any and all inquisitors are going to be wondering why we've found him at the arse-end of Thedas, at the end of a long line of Eluvians, surrounded by Qunari turned to stone and whatever else we find with him. So. Really the main question is going to be: "What the FLIP, dude? Uh, are you...okay? Bruh?"

I presume we will be able to ask him the obvious, "Why the heck did you pack your bags and leave without an explanation?"

But I'm already bracing myself for the inevitable frustratingly vague, cryptic teasing that will mostly likely not be satisfying to the audience who indeed does know who he is and what he did. The why's and how's most likely won't be explained.

What I'm wondering is will he reveal who he really is to the Inquisitor or keep him/her guessing and simply imply he's an ancient elf.

You're the Inquisitor, you always have questions.

Pay attention to the autodialogue and you'll see that the Inquisitor, by default, asks more questions than any previous voiced protagonist.

DAI is also the first voiced Bioware game to add significantly more results for just asking questions (Investigate) of others.

So what I'm saying is that Bioware is going to force your Inquisitor to ask something. If that's just 'why did you leave' and you leave it at that, then maybe so be it.

I supposed the first thing we need to determine is...

WHAT WILL THE INQUISITOR ASK HIM?

Only after we know what we will be able to ask can we guess at what his answers will be.

For now...

How have you been Solas?

What brings you here?

Why did you leave so suddenly?

Leliana said her scouts found the place you said you were born, but it was just an old ruin. Care to explain that?

Why you no finish painting?

Can't think of any other questions my Inquisitor might want to ask him.
