I am loving the extra crit chance, but getting hit by a wraith fireball is still very painful.

It does become exponentially more efficient because you can clear the content that generates the most exp with low level characters and the stats that are improved with promotions are more valuable the higher you are. Since promotions are flat percentage increases without diminishing returns (though defenses and crit chance have a cap)...yeah, it gets pretty crazy the higher you go.
I recall someone doing the math before on the value of early promotions versus late promotions...anyone know where that is?

The best way to grind promotions is to use the microphone and make friends.
Friends that use a microphone always get invited to groups first. Communicating with your teammates usually means having a fun time, which makes the grind feel much faster and less boring. It is also easier to coordinate gameplay this way. Eventually you may get to know some people really well and will team up on a daily basis.
Also the more promotes you have, the faster you promote, since you can clear content more rapidly.
sometimes I don't want to chat and just want to run through my day quietly but chat is the only way to get regular invites and really enjoy the game
some people are really funny it can be tough to play when your laughing so hard
also you can exchange ideas on builds and what each ability can and cant do
I/am/a noob or something like that

I know what you mean. Met some great people on the mic.
My family situation at the moment means I rarely mic at all.
I already sit with my back to my wife (PS4 facing wall) right beside the door to nursery where our 7month old is sleeping. To put a headset on every night and ignore her as well? Yeah, that's not gonna be happening.
Before that I was on the mic laughing and joking most nights on DA and Destiny. Real life priorities. If I get less invites now, so be it.
I feel bad turning down mic invites from Popr, Zaf, Toshie, Master..... but that's the way it's gotta be for the forseeable future.

In my experience so far, whenever someone uses a mic, instead of their voice I hear static or they just leave they mic on with a lot of background noise. So I always thought if I used mic, it'd be just static and therefore I completely disabled it. Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the tip, definitely gonna try it

Speaking of which, anyone wanna team up ? 20/20/15 stats
There are some players that have odd sounds on their mic, I just mute them, and with my friends I usually use teamspeak.
65/111/90 ... learned my lesson the hard way ... played mages in the earlier days .. now working on rogues for the cunning to 111 than con to 111 ... so will be on it until Xmas ![]()
I am on pc name is the same.

Are you spying on me? Webcam in my living room?
(or you are in a similar situation)
I used to get "Nice you are having fun with your 'friends', wish you would laugh like that with me"
That brings you right back down to earth.....

The 7 year old loves the avengers and spider man and basically all super heroes and "boy" stuff.
The wife is pushing really hard on the two year old with pink and flowers and dresses. Which I tried with the first one, to no avail.
Re: mic: the ps4 is upstairs in the bedroom, and j really only play once the wife and baby are asleep, so no mic for me. Though I do have an earbud in to hear everything.
Probably should move it downstairs with the xbone.

Sometimes my 4-year-old steals my microphone and have a conversation with Alfax73's 3-year-old daughter. Alfax73's daughter loves saying "I MADE FIRE!"
