So, continuing with my three-games-in-a-row playthrough, I'm gonna start DA2, for which I bought the DLC. Now since I know very little about the DLC (the description in the shop), when would it be a good moment to start them? I assume that for the Exiled Prince I want to start it ASAP, so I get the new companion, but what about the others (Mark of the Assassin and Legacy)? Is there an act in which is better to play DLC or should I go for it when I feel like it?

The Exiled Prince - has a few missions in Act 1, but Sebastian won't be available as a companion until Act 2, where he can be recurited immediatly.

Legacy - I usually play this in early-mid Act 2, as there are quite good equipment sets which work good until Act 3, but this can be played at any given time (still, it makes more sense after Act 1)

Mark of the Assassin - Early-mid Act 3, story-wise this is the most logical choice, as duke Prosper would more likely invite the Champion of Kirkwall than some random noble or penniless nobody from noble ancestors.

I usually play Legacy towards the second half of act 2, right after the All That Remains quest line, and MoA at the start of act 3.... but you can do them whenever and it's cool because banter will change, depending which act you are in. Those are just the points that seem to fit the narrarive best, for me anyway.

Exiled Prince you can do right away, since it is spread out through the acts. You'll meet Seb in act 1 but he won't join your party until act 2 after completing his companion quest.

In terms of plot consistency you can make arguments for playing them at pretty much any point in the game except post-credits since they are both also framed narratives told by Varric and we see Varric's interview end after DA2.

In terms of gameplay I think a lot of people do them around the end of Act 2/start of Act 3 so they're nicely levelled up for the tough fights, but still have enough DA2 left to use all the tasty loot they acquire. This is also the time people start to get sick of the same recycled maps. Also, Act 3 needs padding.
