I have a question. When you say that the Golden Nug can sync the same Inky past or future, what do you mean? What I'm wondering is if once I beat the game, I can sync that first Inky to the Golden Nug, and then restart that character all the way back shortly after the prologue and sync her up again? Or could I even delete that version of her after beating the game and still have the Golden Nug?

I may have screwed myself on having the choice between softened and hardened Leliana on my canon Inky, and I want to know if I should just delete her now, beat the game and then sync/reload to the beginning, or something else, etc.

Yes, you can do that.

Golden Nug works like online database of your items. What is added to Golden Nug is not tied to character, but to you online account. Which means once added there, they'll stay here, even if you back on saves or delete them.

Awesome, I know what I'm doing the rest of the day haha. Thanks for the swift response!

(Figured I'd ask for the clarification just in case)

Sorry for necro, but what do you guys think of the Golden Nug? It seems a bit like cheating to me, so I'm not sure if I want to use it.

Yeah, there was another thread where this was hashed out, but I couldn't find it.

Summary, as I recall: Trials were a great addition that added challenge that was sorely lacking in Nightmare. That addition was then undermined and pretty much nullified by the Golden Nug and by all the new OP items, like Ring of Doubt.

On the other hand, the Golden Nug is a huge time saver for people who are compelled (like me) to farm for a very specific schematic, because of the way it looks or the buffs it has. Not having to go through the agony of reloading the Canyon Market in the Hissing Waste day-after-rl-day to get the Short List schematic is a godsend.

You can either abuse it and run around Haven with the Encore Staff, Chromatic Greatsword and Stone Stalker dagger, and the equivalent Tier 4 armors, or you can use it with discipline, using some self-imposed rules, like, never build gear that is more than three levels higher than your XP level. So if you are XP level 6, the highest level sword you should have is level 9. Or, don't craft any gear at all other than grenades and use the Golden Nug only for Seeds.

I like the Golden Nug.

I had finished two PTs before the Nug came out.

In my first, I didn't really craft stuff and mostly relied on the stuff I found. In my second I crafted a bit more, but still heavily used stuff I found. (my elf mostly run around in a self crafted formal uniform, because most other uniforms looked stupid on him  <_< I was so happy when I found the High Keeper schematics with him)

Then the Nug came out and finally my charas could look good from the beginning. Also it ads more to the RP part, if your elf, or dwarf can wear dwarven gear from the start.

Sure, you could make OP weapons from the beginning, but you don't have access to Tier 3 mats from the start, so even a Tier 3 or Tier 4 crafted weapon will be weaker with Tier 1 mats.

Also, even if you have the Nug synced, that doesn't mean you have to use higher tier schematics.  ;)

Thanks, guess we'll see how much self-control I have. Not much when it comes to the Masterwork Dual Curved Blade schematic apparently, as I pick it up as soon as I can...

EDIT: So I've started a new game and I don't like it at all as it removes a major incentive in the game IMO so I'm not going to use it.

Yeah, I found that the Nug would actually be counterproductive for me since it would fill up my lists with stuff I wouldn't want to use. I'd deauthorize the Spoils DLCs if I could since those schematics are often better than what U've got through normal gameplay. No big deal; I just don't sync.
