DAI is done, how do you feel about that?

It was over for me months ago and not happy on how Bioware ended it with me and many others. I guess DAI fiasco just killed lot of my love towards the whole series, Bioware and so on. I'll see if I'll be board of DA4 or not.

The game may be done and dusted, I don't really give a monkeys.  I do feel DONE after handing over money for this, and I'm DONE with Bioware.  If this is a taste for future Bioware games, I want not one morsel of it.

Sad really, I guess. My first thought was; "What? Are you kidding me? That's it?" I feel like BW cut things short. There was so much potential left, so much they could've added to the game.

I feel mostly okay, as long as there will be a DA4 - I'd probably fall apart if this was the end of the series. And I'm pretty sure I'm still going bawl throughout Trespasser.

Kind of disappointed. The game needed another three or so story missions. It really, really needed them. But... what's done is done. Hopefully all the DLC I've got to play now will help fill the void I felt when I completed my original file back in December.

It was a great game when it wanted to be. I want more of that in DA4.

Maybe I'll feel differently after Trespasser, but right now I'm ok with it, at least as long as it's not the end of the series. The game has weaknesses and I would have liked more main story quests but I've definitely enjoyed it a lot and had a lot of fun. Imo it's a great game.I'm already looking forward to DA4 and will be onboard the ME:A hype train in the meantime.

Actually I can't really make "my character" and get into a game until it is "wrapped". So with the last DLC I can finally plan my "official" playthroughs (after aproximately 1000 hours played exploring the game). I can't imagine my DAO playthroughs without Witch Hunt as I can't imagine my DA2 without Legacy so I'm pretty sure Trespasser will completely define the story of not only "my inquisitor" but of all the other stories I come up with (I usually end up with 7 "definitive playthroughs", like I had 7 thedas in my mind happening simultaneously in paralel dimensions, one for each DAO Origin [3 elven, 2 dwarven, 2 human])

It was very hard to let my Wardens go. Somehow Hawke, to. I cried for they in some scenes and I was very sad at the end of DAO, DAA, Witchhunt and DA2.
I have no problems to leave my Inquisitor. Well, it was fun to play a noble Mage or a Qunari Mage, but I have no heavy emotions with the Inquisitor like with the Warden or Hawke.
The Bioware Plot for the Warden and Hawke Do not count for me in my wardens and Champions.

I feel something simmilar BUT as I just posted, Trespasser will decide everything. We may end up having the Inquisitor as our favorite character ^_^

Decent game but there were several parts of the game design and quests that I didn't like. DLC was not exactly to my liking, I prefer more story based which it appears Trespasser will fulfill that hopefully. After playing all 3 DA games several times, I still think the Warden story was Bioware's best moment in DA and I wish we could have had more continuation of that story.

It will be interesting to see if Bioware & EA choose to continue with the DA franchise or not. Sometimes I wonder if Bioware is tired out with the typical fantasy RPG they have done for so many years now. Guess we will have to wait and see especially for their new IP.

I think grooming Patrick Weekes to take over the franchise's crucial Lead Writer position recently is a surefire sign there's at least developer intent to carry forth.

I feel sad, because DA:I was my first ever Bioware game, and right after I finished playing it I bought DA:O, DAII, the Mass Effect Trilogy and all DLC. So I don't have the nostalgia associated with those, which means my Inquisitor is the character I am most emotionally attached too. I fear the void that will be left after tomorrow :(

finally some positive news!!!! @ CircusDragon!!!!

man, even if its just a handful of negative posts in this thread, i just can't believe the amount of hate generated by bioware games "fans"? // 'haters'...

people complaining about the games combat? i think bioware did something incredible with the games combat and hope they keep it and improve on it, i have never played an RPG game that had combat so well developed!!!

every skill unlocked has it's own reward as you implement it into combat...

every class (IMO there are FIVE) has their own feel!!!!

2H wep // dual wielder // mage // archer // 1hander + shield!!!

all fun to play too!!! the way you generate guard for warriors, the way a rogue sneaks to flank and attack from behind... i'm not usually a fan of mages but starting with DA 2 and into DAI  they're really fun for me to play!!!

but man, to have the whole dragon age and mass effect universe brand new to explore again, i wish they made a pill for that, because DAO is my all time fave game ever!!! and i would love to play it again like it was the first time.

with no exaggeration, i always have the awakening disk in my drive because of all of my 200+ pc games i own, it is the one game i still played to completion AT LEAST once a year until DAI came out and became the new backbone of my play time...

cheers.

Criticism is fine so long as it's constructive, but yes a lot of people on here seem to claim that DA:I was an abomination. Which it was not, imo.

But I have decided to come out of lurking so I can chat with passionate people like you, so thank you also :)

Don't worry, every BioWare game is an "abomination" to a number of folks here. :P

im so jealous of you. i wish i could erase my memory and replay the ME trilogy for the first time.

On topic: essentially nothing. It won't be the last Dragon Age game, and it seems soon we'll be getting a BioWare game every year, so I'd always rather look forward than back.

I'm sure I'll shed some tears once I play Trespasser, though.

I'm cool with it, this is about the amount of content I expected before they moved on to planning DA4.

I've really enjoyed the game, whether or not I am satisfied with how they wrap it up I won't know till after Trespasser.

*snip*

DA4 (hopefully not named DA4, instead Dragon Age: Title)

This is my hope too, I prefer subtitling to numbering.

Honestly, I am a bit puzzled. Given how commercially and critically successful DA:I was in context, the book apparently being shut on it 8.5 months after release is strange and a bit disappointing, especially considering the very long post-release lull this game had. The world of Inquisition is vast and could be filled with so many more stories.

I'm bummed that Hakkon and Descent were such wasted opportunities and that we're only getting one true story DLC. I tolerated the first two because I asummed we would be getting four or five this time. Hopefully Trespasser will be everything needed, but I doubt it.

I'm actually disappointed in Bioware, due to the fact that they will not be supporting the last two DAI DLC's on the last generation consoles.  If they had decided to only do the next game on the current gen consoles, that would have been fine.  However, when you release a DLC, and market it as the true ending to this particular story, but don't allow those on previous gen consoles to play it, it sends a bad message to those people, especially me.  It's like selling me half a book or movie, and saying I can't know the ending unless I join a special club.  It's disrespectful to Bioware's fanbase, and soils the dignity of the Bioware company itself.  It does not matter how many times you say you are returning to storytelling based gaming if you limit people's access to it.

If there is a thread on this topic already, please link me to it.

Strangely enough, I feel somewhat happy. "Strangely" because despite its flaws, I enjoyed DAI a great deal and thus feel I should maybe be sad that it is coming to an end.

Quite a few of the points of criticism the game has received are arguments that I can understand on a logical level and see why they might bother some players (thus not feeling the need to "defend" the game against the valid form of criticism), but truth being told: While I was playing, none of those reduced the fun I, personally, had with DAI. The only two things that bothered me while playing were the controls for PC and the aspect that I found the main story somewhat too short, especially toward the end. More precisely, there were two operations that I sort of felt the game lacked and should have had to come to a full circle main story-wise.

So, why am I happy that it ends? Hard to tell. Maybe it is because right now (a few hours before I can actually play it) I think that Trespasser will both be a conclusion and the chance to wrap this one up on a high note. Maybe it's because I'm looking forward to what may come in the future. Maybe because I like the idea of setting up a definite end to this story rather than stretching it thin. No idea. All I know is that if Trespasser delivers, I'll be happy with this chapter of the DA-story and ready to get hyped once a new one appears somewhere at the horizon...

I hope they still have time to patch some major issues with the user interface on PC.

For instance: If you hover over an item in the shop menu, the tooltip will not go away until you move away the cursor. This drives me nuts when I want to quickly sell items. I just hit space bar and I keep seeing the stats of the first item I sold.

I guess I'm a hater, in the sense that I am highly critical of DAI and make no bones about the fact that I didn't enjoy it much at all, but this is honestly the first Bioware game I have played that really didn't agree with me. I enjoyed DA2, for all it's faults, and played it multiple times, and I liked ME3 and thought the ending, even if it was a bit of an a$$ pull, was ballsy. DAI on the other hand, was just boring. I never had fun playing it and I was just glad when it was over. Bioware has never bored me before, but they sure did this time around.
