Continue from http://forum.bioware...7-heal-on-kill/

Ok for stats of the weapons  wait when i come back home tonight

Bonus heal seems a bit underpowered to me. at the moment i have 54% bonus heal but devour itself doen't heal so much (20% of missing HP)

Let's say my Reaver has 1000 HP and he has 200 remaining now. He will heal for 800/5=160

50% Bonus heal gives +80 heal. Not much

Just having 20% heal on kill i would heal for 400Hp and that's great

Bonus heal is better only vs strong bosses because devour can be used many times during fight while heal on kill only (maybe) at the end.

But it's overall better. If i'm injured i just can go around and kill a fennec or halla to heal a lot.

Playing Nightmare mode with my Reaver though I don't really have anything that had heal on kill. Honestly I've never really needed...

Currently running;

Plate Mail of the Dragon Hunter;

( Fade Touched Dawnstone (25% heal from damage))

24% Heal bonus

+ 320 Health

Helm of the Dragon Hunter;

32% Heal bonus

Weapons: ( yes yes im running S&S build...)

Axe of the Green Edge;

( Fade Touched Nevarrite (( chance to cast PoTA )))

36.75% Crit chance including Haft

Shield of the Emperor;

(Fade Touched Obsidian (on hit 3 guard))

+224 Health

FT Obsidian helps with the guard but the idea for this build is to get hurt. I'm spamming Dragon Rage here so Crit chance needs to be high for those passives and PoTA proc well so everyone is all grouped up together. FT Dawnstone heals works nicely with my 56% heal bonus.

s&s Reaver is not a bad idea,since you get damage buffs from passives

i will check that helmet and see if i can reach 100% bonus heal

ofc having 25% heal from damage taken is a must for all warriors . with 100% bonus heal it's like having 50% heal...right?

I forgot to mention the Belt of Life which add total bonus heal to 66%. There's a belt that gives you 20% bonus to heals but I like the one I have now as it gives me an extra 100 HP

Seriously though dude, if you can get 100% bonus heal. let me know... :3  50% guaranteed heals would be awesome in every fight!

Devour has a hard cap and heal bonus does not really work well with anyways. For healing needs get a 10% Heal on kill and fade touched snoufleur for 1% hp per hit masterwork. These 2 coupled with devour willl see you through.

HEAL ON HIT IS NOT THAT EFFICIENT ON SLOW WEAPONS LIKE 2H AND  BWS. IT'S MUCH BETTER ON daggers and 1h axes and maces (sowrds are slower)

Mages with energy barrage can heal 12% and that's good too.

in the build without heal on kill i have 54% bonus heal (20% from belt and the res in armore,gauntlets and legs)

with htat helmet a human (not Bull) can reach at least 86% .

Maybe i imissed some armor with more bonus heal,while  i don't think i can get more from arms and legs since i crafted the best with defensive:cloth

But it is efficient with the high attack speed of Dragon Rage.

i don't like Dragon Rage because characther moves while attacking and because it's bugged!

it should cost 2% of max HP while actually costs 5% and it's a lot

i also don't like ring of pain because it breaks movement

Passive abilities and devour are good

Dragon Rage isn't bugged, the tooltip is incorrect.  If it was bugged they might have fixed it or balance changed it in MP.

It is also the best ability on the Reaver by a large margin, so you are missing out.

I think reaver is not the class for you as reaver is all about its 3 skills. Infact it seems templar might serve you better.

5% is a lot

it does a lot of damage ok,but..

-the character moves while striking

-after third (and fourth that comes together) hit the character stop and he stands still for a short time

i prefer reaver for a critical build that activates many passives (terror,weaken,lower CD) and it fits better in a Reaver that can terrify enemies and give 6 cunning (3% critical chance)

all warriors can have weaken and sunder on crit as they lie in the base warrior passives. Reaver only gives you terror which is 25% chance on a crit, just going for a specialization for just that is pointless when templar seems to mesh better with your style.

Fact of the matter is reaver is about dragon rage. Besides stacking so much heal buffs is pointless for you if you do not use dragon rage and even then i find 10% heal on kill and snoufleur masterwork to be more than sufficient for healing purposes ans heal on hit heals from every hit, you ring of pain, damage reflect all of it heals you. For more required healing potions and regeneration potions are more than enough, hell for boss fights a regeneration potion goes a long way to ensure you live near the edge IE 30-50%. If that is also not enough then reaver focus skill with 10 to 30% hp leech will do it.

I will repeat again most reaver manage just fine with the superb life steal ring.

It actually isn't so bad... especially if you have Heal on Hit.  A couple percent knocks that down.  Or you could use RoP (which isn't my favorite power, but has its place in certain stages of the game).

The last hit in the chain is the 3rd hit.  It deals double damage in an AOE, so even if it has a slight delay afterwards it is offset by the bonus damage, IMO.

If you hate it than you hate it.  I know you can play a Reaver mainly with vanilla skills and Reaver passives.  I did that briefly to try and recreate the Katari a bit.  It will be more a controller than DPS, and it wasn't for me.

As one who is contemplating a Reaver Inquisitor, this has all been interesting info to read.

Dragon Rage is such a superior skill for damage dealing, that the only one in the Warrior's arsenal to come within 30% of it, everything else being equal, would be Shield Bash, and that one has an 8sec cooldown and knocks enemies down, preventing autoattacks to connect for the next few seconds.

The only case to be made against Dragon Rage would be that the Reaver class isn't fun to play. For some personal and subjective reason, with which I agree.

Objectively though, a Reaver's Dragon Rage is the Wolverine of damage dealing, the best at what it does. In comparison, a Templar's Spell Purge would be Storm, and a Champion's To The Death would be Galactus.

i like reaver because i like the style :"more damage when ijured and heal when close to death"

I just don't like how they did

In DAO and DA2 Reaver wasd doing AoE damage where he moves and not in a defined area but that's not the main problem. What i ate of RoP is that it has a cast time while activating the oE damage was instant and permanet

I'm Walking to an enemy and if i cast RoP the Reaver stop walking?? too bad.

Dragon Rage is ofc nice for what it brings (more damage at cost of HP) but i don't understand wh the Reaver has to move and he can't just using claws like he uses the weapon. Also that thing after third hit is too bad. Spirit blade has not that behaviour and i can use it without problems

So i would like to use Dragon Rage,and that's why i was trying a build with much heal but i didn't remember it has this strange animation

I mean....the enemy is not moving,i attack wih DR and i pass him by??  wtf just stay there and attack!

Are you sure you didn't bind the "autorun" key to your dragon rage skill, by any chance? I've had that issue myself with Shield Wall (lol), it took me a while to notice.

I've had my SP Reaver do a closing movement when using Dragon Rage, but he doesn't move past the enemy he just gets within range and then tears them apart...

not through enemies but he goes left or rigth

Dragon Rage is on "1"  and when i change character and use the "1" abillity i have not that roblem. it's just that dragon rage makes the reaver walk instead of attacking standing where he is

Maybe also spirit blade makes KE move but not so much like DR

another strange thing about RoP is that when it's already activated and i click on it again....sometimes it stops,sometimes it starts again

Not having to stop a ring before starting another one is useful but not always works

Dragon rage double attack is a pain. i waas testing heal and killing enemies with the third (double) attack prevent the heal from the ring because 2 attacks means -10% HP.

I keep telling you reaver does not fit your style. If you still want to play then get used to it of losing Hp for damage. Until you accept that reaver will not be fun for you.

the loss of hp is not balanced...10% max HP in one swing???

Or Devour is too weak

Now i have 59% bonus heal 10% heal on kill

i have 1015 HP

Let's say i need 3 swings to to kill 1 enemy.

-5% -5% -10+10% (unfortunately heal is not calculated after using Dragon rage ..in that case it would benefit from bonus heal but when i tested now i had no heal at all)

so i killed an enemy and lost 101.5 HP wihout being touched by enemies

Devour works on missing HP so the eal would be 20% of 101.5.really poor

Since it's work on missing P i can never heal to full HP and start losing HP again attacking.

Every fight i'll start with less HP and finally die even if enemies ignore me

If you are playing Reaver as DPS, you don't want to heal back to full very often anyway since Blood Frenzy gives a damage bonus based on missing health. Ring of Pain also gives higher bonuses based on missing health.  This is why Devour gives more health the lower your current health is.  The point is to drop your health fairly low for damage bonuses, and then use Devour which will heal more efficiently.

yes but at the end of the fight with good devour i want to be at 90%-100% HP

it should have a flat amount + bonus based on mising HP,because if heal only 20% of missing HP and i have 200/1000 HP and the fight is going to end,i use devour  to heal for just 160HP (without bonus)

i also have suspect that RoP costs more than 10 stamina/s

Since basese regen is around 6.5/s,costing 10/s means that i should lose 3.5/s and i run out of stamina fter  25-30s

Devour also costs 65stamina and it's so easy to be under 65 using RoP
