What do you want to see in DA4 that you didnt in DA:I

Then you also had the delima of either Protecting the Keep or Helping Crestwood which was just so amazing. I would love if Keeps actually came under attack from time to time.

Meaty sidequests with choices and lots of dialogue, zoomed in conversations, healing, companion tactics we can set, hold position command (that actually works), a balance between triumph and loss rather than ME3's constant failure vs DA:I's constant wins, companions being tied to the story more and interacting with both sidequests and main plot quests more. Make each game a satisfying, mostly self contained story and not sequel-bait with more questions than answers.

I agree with everything everyone said. Also, please have more towns and hubs. I iked the little settlements and villages here and there but I want a huge town, city hub thing. Something Denerim or Amarinethine would be nice but I would hope that they'd aim for bigger. Val Royeaux was such a dissappointment. I was expecting a grant city for the Orlesian capital and instead we got a post stamp of a city.
Also more quests like WIcked Eyes where everything is more dialogue based and choice based as opposed to straight up fighting. I love dialogue options that leads to outcomes. Expansion on choices and what not.
Being able to talk to your companions outside of your base. I missed this so much since DAO. And although it's not a priority I also hope for more romance options that would make everyone happy. Not saying let's make everyone bisexual/playersexual like in Dragon Age 2 but an equal amount of choices for those who have preferences. For example. If you were playing a female and wanted to romance a male, you had waaaay more choices than any other gender/love interest combination. But like I said this isn't a priority, I'd prefer fleshed out romances as opposed to more choices as well.
Actual tactics as people have said and good maker, healing, please for the love of the creators healing. Also I wished there were more chances to explore the main character's past. Like if you were an elf, to meet up with your clan or a qunari to meet up with your merc buddies etc. I was so hoping the Keeper of the Inquisitor's clan to show up at the ending banquet like Fergus or Irving would depending on the origins placed. Something that's world building and allows you to create more attachment to your PC. I really do hope they stick to having multiple race options in DA4. I know that DAI was originally set to have just humans like DA2. Ironically I didn't feel bad that we could only play humans in DA2 but being given the choice again in DAI i realize how powerful it is just to be able to choose a race and how powerful it plays throughout. So I'm hoping they keep the races and origins and possibly expand.
More cutscenes. I don't care what anybody says but I like cutscenes where I can make decisions. I hated how 45% of the game was the awkward over the shoulder coversations. It felt so static, not immersive in the least and it was weird. I liked the cutscenes when you're having a conversation in DAO because it's more intimate, more immersive and more well executed than the lazy over the shoulder thing they did in Inquisition.
Blood magic. I'd like to see how they'd incorpoerate BM again if at all. I understand that the Inquisitor couldn't be a blood mage, how could the leader of such an org be a BM but I'm hoping the main character in DA4 is somewhat of a Hawke where they're not placed on such a high pedestal at least not so early in the game.

I would like to see companions to be more interactive with side quest.
As far as questions and answers I like how the entire world is shrouded in Mystery. At least with each game we learn something new about the world and same with DLC. I don't mind the Get and Answer and get 2 questions. I like having to create theories.

I feel like we never get answers though, or satisfying conclusions to things from previous games. In DA2 the mage/templar war was built up for the whole game and when it finally starts, it starts out of game in some EU stuff and what we see of it in DA:I are a few random groups of mooks in a field. ![]()

A main story thrice as long.
More choices. This one feels like it had fewer than usual.

Yeah, it was bad news. It was bad news the day they unveiled it. "Offers the player the choice to leave conversations." Does nothing for me. Zilch. I'm not going to choose to leave a conversation, please bring back my beloved cutscenes. They're part of the reason I fell for you in 2009, BioWare.

I forgot to add, not being limited to 8 skills and bring back the proper radial menu like in DAO and DA2 for consoles. It makes no sense to having characters who learn abilities but can't use them becuase they aren't equipped. It's like
Iron Bull: Solas the dragon is weak against Ice, use Winter's Grasp!
Solas: I... I can't...!
Iron Bull: Why in god's name not?
Solas: I just... I can't seem to use it... it's not accesible to me at this very moment.
Iron Bae: -__-"

My Warden making an appearance would be cool. He doesn't even need a big part, but I would love to see that Curing the Calling plot line go somewhere.

OMG yes! I forgot about this! I really want more varied choices dialogue options. I want to be able to be ruthless, racist, have a chip on my shoulder about something, or even be downright evil.
Adorkable-panda: I totally agree with your post and towns and settlements are especially important! Varied towns with lots of NPCs to talk to and things to do make the world feel alive ![]()

A game that does not feel it ends at the middle (what pride has wrought always felt like the middle and bioware was rushed to finish the game and we got that joke of a final quest)
Side quest on par with TW3 side quest.
More options to be ruthless and continue having a proactive protag. Don't return to a reactive protag like Hawke plz (I enjoyed begin a merciless pragmatic inquisitor, but it would be fun to just have an ******* which you can't do in DAI, least you can be racist)
More towns or real cities
Better AI, tactics and tac cam. More support abilities. Also no 8 skill limit

I'm with you for sure. I definitely wanted more cut scenes out of the game I feel as if it's not that the Over the Shoulder is bad it's just the perspective of their over the shoulder they choose.
If you go back and loom at the Alpha GA.relay of PAX I think it was the first perspective they choose was much better for the conversations and such because it made it look more immersed and more like a cutscene the entire game back then looked more immersed to be honest. Just felt better what do you think?
And as for blood Magic if they put in Blood Magic i don't want them to ignore that out character is a blood mage like they did in DA2 I want to be brought up and we have to deal with actual consequences of being a blood mage like demons attacking us or demons coming out of nowhere to offer us more power.
As far as healing I wouldn't mind it back. But I do really like the Barrier system so I would hope they incorporate them both. And everyone has to remember that DA is a semi strategical game so healing needs to be strategic. Maybe You beat less out if combat so u can just spam heal out of combat. Or barriers heal after they have been depleted. Or there's no instant healing but only healing over time.
What do you think of how the Alpha was compared to what we have now?.

Re: towns, ugh, now that's something I didn't want to be right about. I made a thread doubting we'd see a real city a while before release, based on marketing techniques I'd noticed with the game up to that point. Folks were saying there was no way that'd happen, but argh, it sorta did. The plaza at Val Royeaux was nowhere near enough, and while Redcliffe, Crestwood, the Crossroads, et al are certainly settlements, nothing feels truly alive.

Yea I gotcha but there's so many questions to be answered that we're bound to keep getting more questions when getting some answers such as if we start to learn more about the Magisters or Old God's
And I do agree about the Mage Rebellion. It should have been bigger and affected more people. I do feel as if it was resolved really fast but I can understand why it was in the world state we were in. But it honestly could have been it's own game

Like others have said, more cutscenes, they immerse you in whats going on.
Better tactics, DAI's left much to be desired.
If they have lots of big maps again then I'd like each map to have a plotline, much like how each planet in Star Wars The Old Republic had its own plotline separate from the main quest.
Edit: And better hairstlyes and hair quality, its disconcerting when the environment and characters faces are so much better quality then whats on their heads.

I'm happy this conflict was wrapped up quickly. Was never invested it for many reasons. I care more about the elven stuff, what the wardens are doing, qunari ect
I'm content with ending the war with a fantastic quest like Champions of the Just. Now admittedly if my interest are wrapped up like the mage/templar war I'll be annoyed ![]()
