I doubt I will do another playthrough like that. It takes too long.

You may not, but I think I will if they make all of the games backwards compatible! :)

ME1 will be but I hope all of them will!

Go ahead. I still do playthroughs with characters dying, but not on the same level as that playthrough I did

So I started my first pure Renegade playthrough on Mass Effect 1 and it's been purely amazing so far.

I have always completed pure Paragon playthroughs because that suited my playstyle best - so when I started the renegade playthrough I had to do so without taking my character too seriously - and can I just say: It's been hilarious so far.

Giving Ashley a hard time because she broke the Beacon and telling her to forget about Jenkins.

Telling Tali that I don't want aliens on my ship and letting Garrus know that I don't trust him.

I'm thoroughly enjoying it and couldn't stop laughing at how mean I was to everyone and that the game actually let me do this.

What's more - the story just advanced regardless - I was being an annoyance to everyone and yet I was made a Spectre.

I can't wait to do a full Renegade playthrough of the entire franchise!

I prefer Paragon too tbh but I do agree Renegde is definitely fun for a laugh

Can't a pure renegade avoid that by the right choice in ME2? Or is that a Paragon choice?

not unless you kill Wrex in ME1 it's either him or Mordin unledss you plan on curing he genophage in which case Mordin sacrifices himself anyway in ME3 to do it.

I plan on running a mostly full-renegade play through of the series very soon

...but, Garrus? How can you be rude to Garrus. He is a total bro and the best companion in the series!

Me neither I'm doing a mostly renegade right now her names Cinder. But I didn't let the Rachni Queen go. I felt so mean it's really hard. I'm keeping Kaidan though. Ash just did Wrex in that hurt worst she is staying with the nuke!! I'm keeping Garrius and Talli alive Just can't do it!! There my BFFs.

The ME2 decision referenced is whether to keep or destroy Maelon's data.

I know that I was refering to the fact that the only way to prevent having to shoot Mordin and killing him was to see that Wrex dies instead in ME1. Generally I'd rather see Mordin die in heroic sacrifice anyway in saving the krogan he deserved that much at least if he wasn't gong to make it through. At least when I've done Paragon playthrough's I've gone down that route and likely wil lthis time too as I'm doing a paragon run again now although I'm still on ME1 atm.

The question was about using Renegade dialogue to convince Mordin to sabotage the cure. It can be done, but the decision in ME2 is vital.

I have to say my first couple of play run threws never saved the council thought there where annoying did realize was renegade. But I love punching that guy in the beginning Manuel didn't think she was going to punch him the first I did it. I can't pass it up now. That's just wrong

Wrex doesn't have to be killed on Virmire to have Mordin survive ME3 if the genophage is sabotaged. Just don't recruit Wrex in ME1

Oh...wow, you know, I've never tried that. What's the interaction like in ME2 on Grunt's loyalty mission? I guess I can save edit to find out.

When talking with Wreav, who is in charge, he does mention Wrex once and again after doing Grunt's loyalty mission, if the thrasher maw is killed.  Gatatog Uvenk will also mention Wrexs' name before fighting him

So Wrex got detained by C-Sec and killed in Saren's attack or something, or is back to being a bad mercenary attacking Volus ships and whatnot. It's the armor that let him go home right? I didn't do that quest this time.

If Wrex isn't recruited in ME1, he dies. Don't know what or who kills him

I share your feelings, entirely. I'm more paragon at heart than I am renegade, and that will usually always be how my first playthrough of a game will go. Each and every one of us has that little bit of evil within them, however, and it is always the most interestingly satisfying experience when going back and witnessing firsthand what would have been different if you were the galaxy's biggest, though badass S.O.B.  B)

I tried. Best I could do was the exact same choices, but with a bad attitude (yelled the Geth and Quarians into a truce, heh heh). Got some crazy scars in 2 and 3, but couldn't get the extra Renegade mission in ME1 :(

I've gotten it after Virmire before, which is the last mission I do before Ilos. I tend to play a middle of the road character though. I think, unless you use the Lorik exploit, it may be hard to do on a first run character. I have a male Shep Soldier and a Fem Shep Infiltrator on the 4th playthroughs, well, they've both done 4 or 5, so they maxed the charm options naturally (it fills up itself).

I've only done Renagon. Honestly, it's pretty funny how you can still make all the "good" decisions (Wrex, Feros, Rachni Queen), but still max out Renegade just by trolling the Council, telling random NPCs off and taking Intimidate options on quests like Father Kyle and the Biotic Terrorists.

I want to do a full Renegade ME1 playthrough with a Sole Survivor, headcannoning that he or she was reprogrammed to be a Cerberus sleeper agent on Akuze. They were already experimenting with indoctrination in ME1, after all.

Were their five lights, or only four?
