It almost feels like the end of First Class in a way. Not EXACTLY, but Solas is giving off that Magneto feel. If you were friends, it seems like there was a Charles/Erik friendship there. Solas regrets what he is going to do...BUT is going to do it anyway. Except instead of being paralyzed, you lose your arm. Hmmmm...
Also, seems like he got his power back. Though the Inquisitor loses the ability to affect Rifts.
BTW, who was the one who said they thought Solas was planning on Cory detonating himself into oblivion, and picking up the Foci after the dust settled? They deserve a high five, because they called it.

You can break it off with him, but no he tells you he loves you, kisses you and then stops you from joining him.

To be honest, the only involvement the Inquisitor and Co. will have I think is maybe give Dorian information through the sending crystal he gives you.
Nope. He's stopping Solas, or will die trying.

Yeah, I saw it. The Qunari as a whole still honor the alliance with the Inquisition and later extend it to the Chantry as well. These people we fight are a rogue sect, or at least are disavowed after being discovered and failing.
Ugh not again. Given Bull sides with them, its looks like the Qunari just pulled another Kirkwall; try, fail and then disavow. Getting really tired of this routine. Here's hoping we crush the cows for good once we go to Tevinter.

You know... this felt more sad to me than the romanced ending. That was romantic, this one was like he secretly hopes we can stop him...
I think he does.

That last line of the Inquisitor's "then we'll find people he doesn't know",
DA4 protagonist anyone?
That's what I think! She marked Tevinter on the map, meaning this is where they will get new allies and probably with Dorian's help too.

Guys who've played: how does Flemthal's rant about a reckoning that will shake the very heavens tie in with Solas' plan? Does she want the Veil gone so that she can have revenge? Is it made clear what exactly happened at the (previous) end of DAI? Does Solas now hold the leash if you drank from the Well or did that control leave when Flemthal 'died'?

Find a total unknown to take him down? SWEET! Though I doubt we'll see a Dalish Elf next time. NOT from Tevinter...

It was always obvious, Solas finds the current world unworthy like corypheus. All he wanted was his orb unlocked, didnt really care how many died for it. Hell he still doesn't.

I think my Inquisition will be on its own. I refuse to be chained to the Chantry. I'll be nice about it though.
I think the Inquisitor may still have stuff happening to him, but yes, his 'adventuring days are done'. That is, him roaming around southern Thedas as the Inquisitor solving problems and finding out about stuffs.
I wish the closing slides were narratived by either Morrigan again somehow, or even our Inquisitor.
I think we'll see Sera again, a changed character, and less optional. Just what I thinks.

Thats was not a rogue faction, it was sanctioned by the Qun, thats why Hissrad betrays you. They are just putting up a front.Ugh not again. I kinda hope they're done with Dalish elves for the time being, they're mostly confined to southern Thedas I believe anyway.Find a total unknown to take him down? SWEET! Though I doubt we'll see a Dalish Elf next time. NOT from Tevinter...
My hope for an option? A Qunari slave raised in a Tevinter Magister's household since childhood. It doesn't work quite as well for a non-Mage, but I have a story in my head of a magister teaching a Saarebas magic to spite the Qun.

Don't you mean, how many MORE will die? Sounds like he's just getting STARTED...

I LIKE that! A slave that rises to save the world? HAHA! That would be cool! Even an elf or a dwarf would work.

Making us lose our hand is biased against single male Inquisitors though. No more quiet nights reading Varric's dirty books.
Oh. That would be...damn.

Okay, thanks it confirms my suspicion that the issue is actually me. Seeing this letter made me think that there was probably some issues with the save, but if the alliance with the qunari still happens even when you save the charge, then, this letter has nothing to do with a choice ( sacrifice for the sake of the alliance with the qunari ) being taken into account.
Well, I don't know if the Alliance still happens. I just know that if you did get the Alliance, the Triumvirate still considers you as an ally and doesn't betray you, instead it being a rogue/disavowed sect.

Except before Bull betrays you you can find a note from the Qun that was intercepted by the enemies that says the alliance still stands and they are not involved.

This DLC is like DA2 one, i mean for all of us it was obvious cory body hoped into the grey warden but we couldn't do ****. Same here, was hoping we could kill Solas and end future problems, but i guess he is the new plot driver for future games.
This is what annoys me about this franchise, they keep saying its about the world not characters, but they turn heel and keep reusing characters when their plots should have ended in their respective games. I mean 3 games now and all we have done is clean up in the grand scheme of things.

I think that it's more that he does care, he just thinks what he has to do is more important. To him, the non-mage, non-elves of the world are like Karl in Dragon Age 2 (heck, he even makes the analogy, more or less, albeit not directly since he wasn't involved in those events). But I think he honestly believes that most people probably would rather die, if they knew what they didn't have. Of course, as Varric points out to him in one of their early banters, that doesn't mean others agree. I think he can do what he feels he has to do because, based on what I saw, he also trusts the Inquisitor to be his enemy. It's a "might makes right" sort of belief, but he sees the benefits and costs of both sides, so he'll fight for one side knowing his friend/lover is fighting for the other.

Watching over this stuff again.
Inquisitor, whether with story backing of the Inquisition or not, is going north. Solas is the major threat (bad or not) and Inquisitor needs people, support, knowledge from places that Solas doesn't yet intimately know (elves, south, Inquisition).
Doesn't mean we'll play as him, just that there will be continuity - guaranteed.
Even as Solas is the bridge to DA4, I'm sure things will open up to much more when we get there.

What I've taken from Bioware is just that compared to Mass Effect its relatively more about the world. The characters still matter, and have continued lives and efforts. These characters may or may not be wrapped up in part of a future game, but they don't necessarily need to, as much as what happened with ME1-ME3.
