So, I predicted the death of the inquisitor in some stupid and undavoible twist. Well I underestimated BW stupidity. They cut the ****** inquisitor's arm so he/she is alive and ready to some sad and horrible written cameo but he/she is not dead so no one is going to cry. This is sad. The ending was perfect, but BW can't actually be happy if they don't **** the ending. So... I'm done. Not interested in Andromeda, and not interested in DA4 now for this rushed and stupidly way to ruin a nice story. Not interested in BW any more. Oh, BTW, you should take notes on some Wild Hunt going on. A perfect trilogy with a perfect ending.

Better then the warden's fault, and is nice and neatly tied up with them being a power player and no longer at the end to make way for another hero.

Though wonder what happens if you attack the dread wolf

Well, that was perfect. I was expecting a Citadel like DLC, but Dragon Age themed, and they blew my expectations out of the water.

Spoilered some of the highlights I adored, just to keep this post short and tidy!

Spoiler

Also I'm using one of the ending tiles for my background! Where the Inquisitor travels to Antiva and finds peace with his love, Josephine for a time.

Spoiler

I chose the option where the Inquisition officially disbands, which weakens the search for Solas, but it will be more secure in doing so.

And I love how it sets up for the possibility of Tevinter for our next game. Perhaps next game introduces our new main character, then the one after that has them both tag teaming to track down Solas?

I get the impression that Solas seems to be an end-goal for Bioware. When we finally deal with him, it seems like that game would be the last DA game. I really hope I'm wrong, but I guess it could happen?

All in all, that DLC was perfect for me. I'm now scared of not playing a not so nice Inquisitor for future runs, in case the results get quite dark. And I mean straight to the bottom of a bottle of alcohol sort of dark!

Anyone know what to do with the purple fire behind the tower inside of the elven ruins eluvian? The fire guarding the chest? Jumping Mario skills don't seem to help here, nor any spell I have.

He removes it, but you don't see it I think. You hear the snapping sound and then he walks away before it's gone.

Heck, in romance he kisses her, and then stuff goes white. If he removes the arm afterwards... ouch.

Barrier, fade cloack or the new Anchor ability.

The Qunari woman says something in Qunlat, Bull answer to her and then says "There is a change of plans, nothing personal... Bas" and attacks you.

It's really stright foreward, during the final paths through the mirrors the woman your choosing calls for him by his Qun name and shows up and starts swinging, it may be differently if you take him with you, but would knock you down to three party meembers.  so would have to go backwards to reswitch most likely, only happens if he is Qun Iran Buill

I gotta see this.

So when Bull betrays the Inquisitor...he is making a bit of a joke, right? It's not just me seeing it as one?

He's always calling the Inquisitor "Boss" but then he switches to "Bas" which is a homonym.

Why is this your worst case scenario?

I had three wishes for the DLC, and from what I have seen (respect for the character, her achivements, and her friendships), all were utterly dashed.

Yeah when he takes your hand as a friend, he makes a gesture to snap it, but when he kisses you, he removes it gently. I guess the kiss distracts her from what he's doing.

Jumping to the end to avoid big reveals, and to ask a couple of questions, if any are willing to help.

How does one get that bottle/ jug off the top of the wooden garden frame?

How much crafting must be completed before meeting the Council?

Thanks!

Spoiler

I don't have any issues with our companions moving on with their lives.  In fact, I prefer it.  I'd rather not some sappy "We're in this together forever!" nonsense.  It makes sense that people like Vivienne, Cassandra, Dorian, Blackwall, and Varric move on with their lives.  They have other issues to attend to.

One question for the people who had Bull betray them:  Does he die in the ensuing fight?  Or does he escape?  Just wondering because if he's possibly dead, that puts a serious damper on him returning in any major when we travel to Tevinter.

He was a tough son of a ******, but in the end he died.
That fight was hard, I even liked the fact he betrayed me even if I like his character.

Bummer, but I do like that they included it.  It's what a Qunari agent would do in that situation.  Good to know that we shouldn't be expecting to see him popping up in any major role going forward, though.

Huh. I won't be able to have the DLC for months, so I'm spoiling myself silly now, but from what I've seen and heard...

The Good

-Approve of the handling of the Inquisitor's finale. Finally Bioware commits to something that both keeps a  PC alive and potentially relevant, while neatly dealing with why they won't be PC anymore.

-Nice amounts of reactivity for romances and character relations. Not as much as everyone wants, I'm sure, but romances getting marriage scenes? Not bad. Deciding how we part ways with Solas? Also not bad.

-Plenty of in-jokes and references to be found. Not Citadel-levels of silly, but there's humor and companionship to be found here and there.

-A good proof-of-concept for the value of post-game DLC. Rather than Bioware's typical strategy of mid-game stuff that can fit anywhere, fixing this at the end allowed it to have better reactivity and direction for the future.

-Foreshadowing of the next game, but also nicely including Inquisition... including the prospect of disbanding the Inquisition. I was afraid that option wouldn't even be up for debate.

Some eyebrow-raising things, though-

-Big Decisions like the Wardens and the Orlais Civil War. Not much seems to come of those.

-The College of Enchanters. I'm withholding a strong judgement for now, but atm I'm not a fan. Less 'outright opposed' and more 'doesn't make sense'- at least not in the context of Vivienne, who had the whole 'crush the rebels' thing going.

-Varric as Viscount? That screams just a little too much of a tradition of Companions getting huge status upgrades for no clear reason.

-Cole playing matchmaker. If he used powers, I'm saying eww.

Actually a decent DLC and OK conclusion to DAI.

I had actually thought about bringing IB to chase the Qunari leader, but benched him. "Good call leaving (him) behind."

There were a few times where I was left wondering where exactly in Thedas I was at (some nice backdrops there).

I thought Vicky's Divine Armor was nice, and I actually thought that would have been worn by default, not the robes (depending on who your Divine is).

Kinda got irked when Varric started talking about Bianca (the crossbow) as if he was wielding it even though he was wielding daggers at the time.

And what happened to Arl Teagan?

Anyway, I saved the dragon, didn't attack Solas, and kept the Inquisition (though it sounds like everyone leaves anyway).

What becomes of the decapitated hand? Chekhov Gun?

I'd bet on Xenon the antiquarian buying it actually. He even ask for it inside the emporium.

I can already hear him from DA4;

-Oh that? It's just the Inquisitor's hand of course!

Does anyone have an Epilogue Tile with a Romanced Cassandra? Do they live together or what?!

I'm absolutely adoring this tile of Josephine hugging her father for allowing the Inquisitor to stay with the woman he loves, I'm now in a state where I could cry with joy or just cry internally with joy. It will be my desktop background for a very long time.

I wonder who drew these Epilogue tiles? They're quite beautiful, so next run through of the DLC, I'm going to have to remember to print screenshot every one, and not just the romance one :P

I don't think I'll be able to make choices that I myself would make in future playthroughs. If my current results are any indication, future results may be a bit to soul crushing for me.

Solas took back the anchor I think... or his magic dissolved it into nothing or something. She wasn't screaming and just knelt there looking sad, so I think it didn't hurt either. Not like it did when it was killing her.

Inquisitor's hand was petrified, left with no glow, cutting-off and left behind in the crossroads. I guess.
