Bioware lost the capcability of telling story from ME3,and inuquisition confirmed it,we witnessed the declination of Bioware in the past five years, this year  they even can not afford us amazing dlc.None of the three story dlcs is above 80
GOTY AWARDS?
Congratulations inquisition, you will compete with MGSV, POE  and The Witcher 3 http://www.gamesrada...ickawards/vote/

Already voted; kinda. Have purchased and played DAI, but passed on the others. And am continuing to enjoy the story telling in Bioware game; the award winning stories.

Can't afford a good story dlc? Really, because when Trespasser came out a good portion of this board was crowing how much they liked it.

And I got a little problem with the ballot since as I voted I kept getting the Witcher 3 ads in the middle of them. And not, it hasn't been 'confirmed'. It's just you don't like it.

You can get treatment for Myopia.

I always feel guilty in voting for those because I usually only play one game a year.  Last year was DA I...this year...well DA I and Witcher 3 and may have an outside shot at getting Fallout.

DA:I is a failure?

Damn - you mean that $60 I spent wasn't worth the 100+ hours I spent playing it?

Well shucks....

Admittedly I didn't read all of the arguments presented previously and I just posted at the end of what I am certain was an enlightening discussion....*cough*.  But lets get to the points that truly matter (hopefully someone has made these points previously)...did DA:I make $$$ for Bioware?  Did I (or you the consumer) enjoy DA:I?

As to #1 I am not a Bioware stockholder but I would venture to guess that $$$ was made from the sales of this game.  Prove me wrong please but until you do so I will say that in a business sense DA:I was a success.  And despite how haters of DA:I may rant this is the only damned thing that matters.

Bioware: "What - you don't like it?"

You: "No"

Bioware: "Well did you buy it?"

You: "Yes - and it sucks."

Bioware: "What didn't you like about it?"

You: "Well I read all these negative reviews and because there were so many; I was convinced they were right!"

Bioware: "Other people's negative reviews?"

You: "Yeah...and fetch quests...I hate fetch quests.  And....and....hair looks like wax...and whatever the end boss's name is...well I heard he is a pushover so your game is too easy!  Not to mention I started playing at 6 pm and I have to go to bed at 9 pm....well I got bored and quit!  Your game sucks!"

Bioware: "I see - so you either received this game as a gift or you...yourself...actually purchased it?"

You: "Well yeah!"

Bioware: "Thank you for your purchase." *click*

Of course I am making light of some valid complaints that have been vehemently, and sometimes violently, hurled towards DA:I the fact of the matter remains...whether your complaint is valid or not you paid for the game - perhaps borrowed or rented - but the game was paid for.  Down all other avenues to this game creeps criminals and malware.

Now that the business side is done away with everything else is subjective.  God forbid that we gamers give an objective unbiased review about anything...

So where does that leave us?  Did ya love it?  Did ya hate it?  Tout va bien?

I liked the game, it was far from a failure, if you post such nonsense you are a troll.

Toodles!

Me too. Mark Hamill as Joker. I'm sorry, seeing him do the scene from The Killing Joke in AK, wow.

Sorry, Freddie!

Well that was annoying.  I mean don't get me wrong he did great as Bull but not having that vote be Miranda Raison or Alix-Wilton Reagon...or Dorian's... not to mention Greg ****** Ellis... is just criminal.

But as for me I voited for Troy Baker there...I was like HE WAS PAGAN MINH.  Man great voice acting there.

I voted for "I am Bread" as GOTY.

Why?

Well...this pretty much sums it up:

  • Summary: The story of a solitary slice of bread's epic and emotional journey as it embarks upon a quest to become toasted.

And I like toast.

edit - yes this is a game....

I know, they went with the names everyone would seen and go 'Ahhh', because they're silly like that.

And I've loved Troy since Tales of Vesparia. Plus he's just amazing in Bioshock Infinite and sexy as hell in GW 2.

As for Greg... Here let me hand him a phone book. :)

I have a thing for voices and good dialogue.

He was good as Booker.  But to know he did Booker, and Pagan, who sounds nothing alike, that always increases props as far as VAing is concerned.  same thing with Hale.

I didn't play the game with Pagan. Don't know it, but yes.

And the first time I ever heard Jen Hale was back in the Where is Carman Sandiego cartoon, and then in the voiced version of Quest for Glory 4. I adore her.

Ariella, please do yourself a favor and watch 2 cutscenes of Pagan Minh on youtube.  Heck, the opening with him is enough.  You will be shocked.  Trust me.

Opps sorry....back to topic....

^Unless there's an official criteria that we're using which could potentially exclude a game, that doesn't really mean anything. Anybody can slap a GOTY title on their game.

Great point, I would like to hear Elhanan's rebuttle to this.

Its about time that DAI will go head to head with TW3!

I cannot wait to see TW3 get Ultimate GOTY with DAI as the competition. Finally it will show that people prefer TW3's storytelling and level of maturity to that of DAI.

You sound like an AD for Witcher 3. All of this is silly in a way. If you don't like DAI don't buy it or play it. It is just that simple.

The comment "Why is DAI a failure?" is an opinion only. Bioware may not share this opinion. Bioware's concern is not to please one player, but to reasonably please a larger market. It is a success if they made a profit, and if customers are still interested in DA4. Only they know how many people stated they liked the game. I personally enjoyed it, and therefore did answer yes to their survey.

Clearly from a marketing perspective they don't want to follow Witcher 3. They have already decided to go multiplayer, and open world. Not everyone bought Witcher 3 nor do they want to.

To say a game is successful cause it made a profit is to have a middle school understanding of business. I mean, I am sure that DA2 made a profit but yet many people had problems with it. There is more to success than just the financials....like what the general consumer thinks about the game AFTER they played it. DAI sold well initially through great marketing and ended but being Bioware's most successful launch. However, after the preorders turned into units sold....what was the pulse of the gamers after they had substantial time to play the game. The result was that many felt like it did not live up to the quality they expected. Many people hated the fetch quest, dull open world, blank state/monotone protagonist, limited cutscenes, departure from DAO, sanatized world in comparison to the gritty world of DAO etc. If anything, the Joystick awards will finally show just how respected/popluar DAI is with gamers.

People always say that DAI only got so many GOTY awards cause 2014 was a weak year. Well the Golden Joystick Award for GOTY will make this argument valid as finally DAI will be put up against heavy hitters like MGS5 and Witcher 3. What makes it better is that WE the gamers get to vote do the awards will reflect the tone of gamer's opinions.

LOL! Like someone is going to listen to you! You come hear and complain about DAI everyday. That is pretty sad. I don't need to play a video game. I'm not going to buy Witcher 3 because you praise it and troll the Bioware site.

Bioware doesn't need you, and you will just have to GET OVER IT!

Lol did I pinch a nerve?

It is true that I hate DAI, but I have every much as right to post here as you do. Second, this is bigger than me. At the end of the day, Bioware WILL listen to our feedback whether you like it or not. People who priase DAI is one thing, but people who offer a counter narrative regarding the success of DAI and point out the games many flaws, Bioware will heed these concerns and expect DA4 to address our concerns.

To say Bioware "does not need us" might hold weight when you say it, but I doubt EA is going to ignore the popularity of games like Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 and just ignore the negative concerns of DAI. At the end of the day EA wants more and MORE profits. They will ensure that they can reach as many gamers as possible and if the pulse is that many gamers are being wow'd by TW3, then expect EA to take notice and see why that is and how can they get those players to buy into their own product (DA4).

If TW3 gets voted to be the Golden Joystick GOTY over DAI, EA will take notice. This is relevant cause unlike the 2014 GOTY awards, DAI will be placed against TW3 and finally we the gamers can decide which is the true GOTY.

Naive hope? You do realize that they did just that in this game? People wanted open world, wanted the tactical view back, wanted several races and not revolving around a single person with a deeply pre defined history. We got Qunari in this game because of player feedback.

They also did the same in DA 2. Brighter color palette, faster paced combat. A less generic look. Better UI for console.

Bioware does listen to us. The problem is sometimes they course correct a little too much. And sometimes, as I may paraphrase Dave Gaider, the game fans build in their head turn out not to be the game they get.

I know...that's why I mentioned "And from their progression in the series, I would say that is proof of their pursuit of fine tuning."

The sarcastic tone must not have come through my post. I'm pointing out that I wouldn't be here putting forth these criticisms if I didn't think Bioware would listen. I wouldn't be posting if I felt it were a waste of time.

A broken record that EA/Bioware will listen to when crafting DA4. Not me specifically, but people who have a gripe with DAI.

You are fooling yourself if you think Bioware will not listen to our concerns.

I have not played any of The Witcher games so I'm not comparing them in any way to DAI.

The game is out, all DLCs have been released and presumably all patches are final. So there is little to no chance of having any further updates to DAI. What other purpose does a feedback community forum serve at this point in time, then, than to provide suggestions for the next game? This is the period of game development when fan feedback would count the most, I think, as the next game is only in the planning stages so is pretty malleable. Writing suggestions months before the release date is going to do nothing, and once the game is out the priority is bug fixes and DLC.

So what is the point of remaining on the DAI official forum now if not to provide feedback? Honestly, what do people discuss on the forum if they have no problem with the game whatsoever and have played it for about a year?  There's only so much to discuss at this point.
