Ive been struggling with the ring part of DAI so far.

I get a ton of rings, all enhancing X ability but im having a hard time know which ring should go to which character. Other then the class restriction, I see the ring "Enhanced Pommel Strike" and I have no idea which of my warriors has this ability.  Im not an expert player, and I dont memorize the ability names all my characters learn.  I constantly find myself jumping between the inventory window, and the character ability window (Which is frustrating as it is) to figure out which ring is useful for whom.

Is there anything I can do to make this easier? I dont want to have to resort to writing on a paper the abilities all my characters have so I can quickly tell what ring is useful or not :-(

Having read that some of these rings do not work, I tend to only keep and use the ones that augment damage; not duration. I do not know if all or any of them are working properly now, so I advise only keeping the ones usable by your team for now, as Unique rings should be plentiful towards end game.

I read as well that all the rings got fixed at some patch. Is that not true?

Who knows? It would take tedious testing to prove which work and which don't.

So here is my simple rule-of-thumb:

  1. If it's Purple, keep it, unless it's completely useless
  2. If it is a direct buff of Attack%, Crit Chance%, Flanking, %Crit Damage%, Life Drain%, Armor Penetration% (but not for a Mage), Sundering, Staggering, keep the highest valued ones
  3. If needed for a specific and difficult boss battle, keep: Barrior Penetration%, Guard Damage%
  4. Sell the rest

Now, of the ones you keep, min/max which buff helps which character the most, or all else being equal, use them in pretty much the order written. YMMV, for example, Crit Damage may be more valuable to you than Flanking, so swap the order.
