As a new player myself, I think you are underestimating the amount of time it's going to take to get these for new players.

It's a slow grind running mostly threatening.  66 games

And while I can do ok with silent sister or hunter on perilous, it's only with the right group comp and with at least one or two promoted players.

Which leads to lots of wipes on perilous, which makes grinding threatening a faster exp/gold per hour grind. Probably.  still good exp on perilous even with a wipe

I'm not complaining and definitely don't think it should be nerfed. It's an awesome reward and the grind feels appropriate.

It's just not going to be a quick get for us newbies.   I think you will get it quicker than you think and that's a good thing :)

What I really wish they would do is exponentially increase the tier 1 crafting mats drops. Or at least the crappy one of the tier one, if they want to keep the better ones a little more rare (plzgawdMOARCOTTON).  Been there. good luck !

The use of scarcity of tier one mats as a gating mechanism is probably over.

Experienced players probably have more of the crappy tier one mats than they know what to do with, and the newbie players are being held back from advancing by an outdated gating mechanic.  I have way more tier 2 and 3 cloth than tier 1. Cotton is a b*tch

The grind now is much much faster than grind in the pre-NM days, so be glad your advancing quicker than it use to go.

Stop with the attitude

"I brought the game yesterday and paid 9.95 and should have everything and go everywhere and kill everything as the fool who got it 10 months ago and play 2,000 hours. Why should there be any difference?"

Because.... I don't want to wait for a friend to grind for 10 months before i can play NM with him/her... Nor do I want to be runnning routine for 3 months just so I can play with them.

Also carrying players is no fun for either parties.

There comes a time in every game where they have to nerf the progression curve in order to consolidate the community that is left.

Why?

Game companies always nerf the progression curve for newer players....

I don't see why you have a problem with something that actually benefits and grows the community.

Which FYI if this had happened earlier then maybe the game would have actually been popular and got a longer support cycle.

1.  Bro, you need to relax.  Did you read my post?  I'll grab the appropriate part...

I'm not complaining and definitely don't think it should be nerfed. It's an awesome reward and the grind feels appropriate.

2.  I'm not asking to be fade carried to a heart-breaker achievement.

I'm not asking for help to farm nightmare dragons so I can get Hakkon weapons.  I am happily pugging my way along in threatening and some perilous.  I'm not even asking for invites to perilous.

3.  What really am I asking for?

The ability to craft weapon mods and to finally craft the last couple blue armors to get them off my loot table.

Is new players getting more weapons mods so ground breaking to you?

Is the proliferation of tier one weapon mods somehow tarnishing your 2,000 hours in a co-op game?

4.  And here's probably the most important part.

If you hate DA:IMP, please continue.

But if you like the game, you want people like me.  Not the people that tried MP once or twice, then went to a different game.  The people that are willing to invest time into the game.

If you think EA doesn't track the number of active accounts and hours played for MP, then you are beyond naive.

If you want Bioware to support MP longer, you want new players.  You will lose experienced players to attrition.  It will happen.  And you want new players to take their place.

So if you want to kill MP, continue with the bad attitude.  If you like the game and want to see more content, maybe you should think about these things a little and stop worrying about how you had to go uphill in the snow both ways to and from school.

All for making things easier for new players...in the end any aids for newer player helps those of us that have been playing longer as well, even if to a lesser degree.

We get whatever benefit they receive. Trickle effect.

More players that consistently play NM/HB the better.

Just don't tell me whatever benefit is a cheat/exploit and to not do it. Then make those who respected your word feel like fools. That just drives players away.

They could pretty much just raise the base stats to 30/30/30 and these new players would be able to do the first 3 difficulties and be able to work toward promoting for NM and HB,

Add some mat chests and it'll help so many people.

I would rather have more players to play with than feel threatened because they didn't spend 2000 hours grinding.

^^ Game changer

Easier access to top tier armors and a guaranteed "decent" base damage weapon would make Perilous accessible to new players at high levels right off the bat.

Difference in promotions between 10/10/10 and 30/30/30 is barely noticeable. Not necessary, and is exclusive to a certain portion of the player base.

I wouldn't be opposed, though.

The stats are there so it doesn't take forever for them to get the NM.  Across the board that is 60 less promotes they have to do and in my region where I know every single player that plays the game, it is necessary because often I can spend alot of time solo running because no one is online.

I get new players join NM because that's the only game they can find and then we end up fade carrying them anyway... Which I imagine would be extremely boring and not entice anyone to play.

I guess my point was that the stats aren't that big a difference.

10% defense to each, 10% attack and critical chance, 100 health. That's not going to change whether the player is effective in NM or not, IMO. Its the weapon and armors, class choices ect..

EHP difference is minimal.

I just don't want to drive away the few new players that started in the past month or two and are just now reaching 30/30/30.

But, like I said before. I wouldn't be opposed.

But they would keep their promotes and be 50/50/50.

It would essentially raise the base stats to 30 on every player + their already existing promotions.

But I agree, most of this is equipment based problems.

PS. Inquisition weapons need a boost. It's cruel making new players play alone in routine with those.
