I tried following all the suggestions but nothing so far works. Basically the new DLC only works for one of ny characters. The other doesn't at all. Im on xbox. I get to the war room and it'll just exit to dashboard.

I am having a very similar issue. The game crashes and goes immediately to dashboard ever time the winter palace load screen hits. Five times I went through this and eventually began the process of uninstalling and reinstalling. Sorry to hear about your issue but I am glad I am not alone in this.

Can you post what character it does work for and what characters it doesnt?

For me it is a human male mage. Why would that matter? Not to be snarky but shouldn't it function with all classes?

 

It's a standard Xbox1.

For me it was my Lavellan. My human mage works.

If something is happening for a case but not another (like OP stated) generally you try and figure out why the one case is different from the rest.

I don't know if it makes a difference but I deleted a bunch of saves on my Lavellan as she was taking a lot of space, but didn't delete the last several so I'd have some to go back to.

For me it was my Lavellan. My human mage works.

 

I am still installing. At my internet speed I am an hour away from this solution being viable for any information. Sorry. Will update if it works though.

Patience being a virtue rarely accompanies empty pockets. Sorry I am a little frustrated. As I am sure the OP is too. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. I hadn't seen anything but these threads that are open to post in. Not trying to overshadow the OP's post either. Maybe we should consolidate the 'bug' threads into one?

I am also reinstalling. I tried several things and my internet is fairly fast so I don't mind. I hard cycled my xbox, did the "leave war table and come back and fast travel" fix that seemed to work for some.

I didn't want to get too into it without my Lavellan.

Just finished me reinstall and it did the same thing as before. Instant kick to main screen. I will try your fast travel technique now too. If that doesn't work I guess I will sit on this egg for a few more days and see if it hatches a patch for the problem.

It worked it worked it worked!!

I reinstalled, went to war table, unlocked, did not venture forth, switched to another zone, came back to skyhold, and now it works.

God I am so relieved. Four hours later lol.
