Other Rogue Toggle tests

 

Stealth/Clinging Shadows vs. Flank Attack/Skirmisher: I'm hoping this is just a bug, but this combination conflicts. Instead of staying in stealth after completing Skirmisher, you pop out of stealth after 3 seconds.

 

Stealth/Clinging Shadows vs. Leaping Shot/Shot from the Shadows: same problem, these conflict. Instead of returning to stealth after the shot, you only get 3 seconds.

 

Hook and Tackle/No Escape: this doesn't seem to do much. The animation/visual is similar to "To the Death", but it doesn't seem to do anything. The target is not paralyzed, still does attacks to other party members (it's not like a Taunt), still attacks you, and you don't seem to get any bonuses.

 

Deathblow/Surprise Attack: this works, same 100% bonus hit, but it is very difficult to find someone in a mob that isn't damaged! Works best as initial attack coming out of stealth on an unsuspecting mob. EDIT: The 50% threshold does apply, so if the target for the skill has 50% or more of health, they get hit by the bonus attack.

 

Evade/Shadow Step: this is just a different, faster animation. Doesn't seem to have much combat value, other than being faster. You don't stay in stealth at the end of the move.

Alright, just found a completely broken item+skill combo:

 

If you equip an enhanced amulet of barrier (gives you barrier whenever you are hit) and use combat roll (2nd upgrade, havent tried using it with first) on an enemy, you will generate a good amount of barrier. The fact that combat roll 2nd upgrade has some insane damage, you can now be  invincible with constant barrier generation every 2 seconds and be literally rolling all over your enemies.

 

Now combine all of that with the horn of valor 2nd upgrade and charging bull.... guard+barrier+damage for days. Note: the barrier generation with the amulet mentioned above ONLY generates barrier when you hit an enemy with combat roll(2nd upgrade) or when you take damage.

e: You receive the amulet of barrier early in the game, I just forgot when/where I got it. Very weird interactions overall though

e2: looks like you can build up barrier with just auto attacks and some skills; it seems to be proportionate to damage dealt (I think, need to do more testing)

 

Do you happen to know if you received the amulet pre-skyhold or after?

I got an amulet of barrier in haven by save scumming the special deliveries box from a trial reward.

The artificer bombs seem to be glitched as hell. I keep getting the random elemental superbomb from time to time, even if the skill is toggled to the other upgrade or is left non-upgraded.

This is extremely bad if you have FF on, as the AI will keep using them when they pop up, EVEN if the bomb skill is not listed in the active abilities. In fact, it uses them even if the skill is not in the ability bar at all!

I can't count the number of times Varric has one-shot my tank when I was playing the other day. So frustrating I had to respec him in order to continue playing, losing the crit chance passive.

As I said in my post, the AI still uses them. I had to unlearn the skill completely.

Mark of Death Archer tests

 

All percentages are of stored damage.

 

MoD no upgrade, allowed to expire (8 secs): 50% 

 

MoD no upgrade, triggered: 100%

 

MoD/Lasting Mark, allowed to expire - can't be triggered (8 secs): 50%

 

MoD/Mark of Doom, allowed to expire (8 secs): 25%

 

MoD/Mark of Doom, triggered: 150%

 

... and, the bow I was using had Hidden Blades on it and triggering Mark of Doom proc'd HB! That only happened once in several trials, but a lucky glitch to have if you hit it.

 

Confirmation that Lasting Mark is totally bugged.

I've been debating that. Whether I want to include bugs, etc. original intent was just communicate the in-game text for those without access.

Your call, but unless there is a Reddit thread with an equivalent summary, I think your post is going to be the go-to reference, at least until Wikia is fully updated. Virtually no one is going to read the whole thread to find the nuggets buried in it.

Updated a few of the toggles with bug notifications.  I'm hesitant to add bug notes without testing them myself or seeing multiple posters.  But the forums move so fast it's hard to keep track of.  On top of that, a bug on a PC may not appear on an Xbox One, etc.

Figured it out. I didn't realize I needed to sign into the server for the game to verify DLC.

New devour sure, but i still prefer the torrent of pain for ring of pain as it now works as it says it does, IE reduces the cost of rage and also does spirit damage. For dragon rage as well i prefer unending fury rather than the new leashed. Leashed might be good for ai reaver.

Not a bug ROP is supposed to do spirit damage, says right in its tooltip. Besides it has a 15M radius and it absolutely consumes stamina. I rather shut it off than to have it moving with me as non moving ring turns off if you leave its area which is good.

The in-game text description says 10 seconds.  Not saying that's how it's working, but that is what it says "in-game".

 

I also don't like the moving ring.  Not because of the loss of spirit damage, but I liked the cost reduction in health for dragon-rage, devour, cooldown reductions...lots of reasons I think.
