I am more annoyed the loss of the hand was 100% off screen. Couldn't they have had something else? And did Solas take the mark from us? I don't think it makes very much sense.

Yeah I'm more annoyed by that too. It was very surreal I didn't realize what had even happened at first took me a minute to realize her arm was gone. I honestly wish we could have witnessed its removal. That **** is painful I know, but I WANTED to see that vulnerable moment. I think it would have made it all the more better.

It doesn't surprise me and I wouldn't get your hopes up for the Inquisitor returning. Removing the arm was a very deliberate move on Bioware's part, removing both the thing that makes the Inquisitor so unique and reducing the likelihood of them returning to an adventuring lifestyle. All making it easier to excuse their absence in DA4.
Though the Inquisitor's line at the end indicated that the Inquisitor will likely end up sponsoring the new protagonist from afar (Possibly through Dorian)

I do wonder though at the end we are chasing Solas to Tevinter and I do wonder how the next PC will fit into the Inquisitor/Solas Arc I hope they at least make an effort on this they cant completely take The Inquisitor out and shoehorn the next guy in.I would like them to bring back The Inquisitor in DA4 as a Mentor type of character for the new PC like Anderson/Duncan was that way the Arc could get more closure.

Solas stopped the spreading oft he mark which is why if you notice the marks spread is now only on the lower arm (past the elbow) the inquisitor had no choice but to cut off their arm, however even then the amount of damage that mark did to their body and to have shed some years of their lifespan.

I can't believe it, but by the end they did make me connect to the Inquisitor. Something I was lacking throughout the entire game. While it's nowhere near as strong a connection I have to the Warden and Hawke, it's still SOMETHING.

Hopefully they show up next game. Maybe if Bioware do a full on Epilogue DLC for each of their game now, they can have the Inquisitor show up at the end of that, saying something like "We need your help."

Loved it. I'd be okay with having a prosthetic arm. That way i could run around yelling "rocket punch!!" While shooting it at people's groins.

I can't believe they didn't give us the option to harvest Sera for spare parts. What was the point of keeping her around if not for that?

Spoiler

So, all things being equal, I'd say the best reason in the world to keep her was vindication.

I'm much more annoyed by the fact that once again the outcome of our actions meant almost nothing, in literally every way, and that chopping of said arm is only a temporary solution to you dying from it anyway.

She actually hooks you up with a cool crossbow arm if you join her Red Jennies.

This sums up why the DLC was so great for me. The Inquisitor finally felt like a real character and not just a sounding board for dialogue choices. Choosing the angry disband option gives probably my favorite line of dialogue in any of the Dragon Age media so far, and the delivery by the Inquisitor was perfect.

Write the PC like this more often Bioware, it was great fun to finally feel attached to the character I was playing.

The Inquisitor's role will most likely be off screen. Dorian will probably serve as the new PC's benefactor, and he'll be in contact with the Inquisitor. The Inquisitor will be taking action, we will probably just not see them. They'll be taking on more of a Chessmaster behind the scenes role.

You know, considering the estates and title Varric gave her, I imagine the disbanded Inquisitor might set his/her base of operations in Kirkwall. And Hawke's returned to the city.

I'm strangely pleased by the idea of my Hawke and my Inky having lunch together on a regular basis. :)

It's assumed he took it (the anchor) because there's a sound file called "soalstakesyourhand" and I don't think it means when he actually takes your hand in his because as a romance he kisses you when he stops the Mark from spreading.

Who said it was a temporary solution?

Solas makes it pretty clear this is a temporary solution to a much larger problem, a problem he doesn't fix, by the way.

I actually thought that this outcome was appropriate, and funny too, because prior to seeing the loss of the limb; it never occurred to me that they might do this. The Inquisitor will still be an imposing personage, the mark itself didn't define our hero and the missing limb will serve the same purpose in my estimation. Setting the Herald of Andraste apart as someone of note, who paid a high price in their path through Thedas.

Yeah, the larger problem of him ending the world, maybe?

The larger problem is the Mark killing you. He can't stop it, but he can slow it down enough for you to chop it off at the elbow. It's still going to kill you in the end. He talks about you being safe from the Mark for now, not you being safe from him for now. That's just stupid.

I'm starting to think he turned your arm to stone like he did the qunari woman. Eyes glowed the same way.

The whole time the mark was acting up and starting to kill us I was shouting at the screen "cut it off! Does amputation not exist in Thedas?!" I didn't think they'd actually do it but I'm happy they did, it makes total sense.(though I agree with those that didn't like it being completely off-screen) I didn't like the "my adventuring days are over" part though :( before this DLC I was ready to let this game rest, but after it I would totally play an entire other game as the Inquisitor fighting Solas.

On the bright side you can get a crossbow arm.

I don't see how it can kill you when it's no longer part of you. It's gone, that's why you cut off half of your arm. As far as this DLC goes, it was excellent overall. I hope Bioware does Epilogue DLCs for all their games in the future, personally. This ending gave me such mixed feelings. I totally wanted another game as the Inquisitor after this, Solas just made this personal god dammit! On the other hand...pun intended...It felt like a MUCH better ending, and thus lead in, to DA4: Fun Times in Tevinter. I really hope the Inquisitor takes an active Chess Master role in the game. They command the fight from afar, the new PC makes it happen, since Quizzy can't anymore.

I didn't get that ending lol but actually I think scars, missing limbs and eyes, etc...give a ton of character so I'm not sad about it, just sad that it seems to be an excuse for his adventuring days to be over.
