Been having an issue during the sidequest where the VI has taken over Jarrahe station. In the section where you rotate reflective armor plates to direct a beam, every time I correctly direct the beam to the generator, the sound stutters a little and the game immediately crashes. This is on the physical disc version.

Heh, this has got to be one of the weirdest bugs I've seen in a game.
So, I figured out a way to keep the game from crashing at this point. I get all the armor plates into position except the first one, then I hit the panel to put the first one into position and then LOOK AWAY, and the game doesn't crash. I think this bug must have something to do with the electricity effect or something, because every time I tried to watch the generator get blown up, the game crashes, but if I turn the camera the opposite way, it works.
So, if I might quote the Simpsons here, to avoid this issue if you run into it, "Just don't look, just don't look..."

I had this same bug as well. Crashed 5 or 6 times in a row until I came looking for answers. I turned my camera away and I was able to get through it. Thanks

Thanks for the heads-up. I only wish this worked for me lol My game keeps crashing during this mission when I try to enter the living quarters (ironically had no trouble with the mirrors -.-) I'm guessing the entire mission is buggy... sad panda.

It's not working
The game doesn't crash, but nothing happens if I don't look at the electric charge

interesting idea, there have been multiple posts on this issue, i think its a case of code looking for sprites and/or effects that are supposed to happen when the beam reaches its destination....and it doesnt know what to do so it just freezes and crashes. hopefully there will be a patch....we will see since EA is involved -.- could take a while.

Still not working. When I'm not looking at the beam absolutely nothing happens. When I look at it--> CTD

Same problem. Took about 6 tries to get through it, carefully, carefully trying not to catch the fricking beam on camera, gr.
It seems the lightening effect problem isn't only this quest related. I crash a lot during combat when using biotics like warp and singularity and shooting over them. IFF mission was also hell to get through, kept crashing while looking at the core.

I only had the issue when the beam hits the far right wall. If I made sure that the first plate was positioned correctly, I had no problems.

Crashed alot on this area too. I then crashed on the next ground based location that is part of this string of assignments.

As I said in the "Odd crashes" Thread:
"Same issue, during the abandoned ship, the last mirror crashed my game... I pray hope this issue is fixed soon, as this is my latest save, and a lot of my progress would be lost if it doesn't get fixed.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (64 Bit)
Processor: Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q9650 @ 3.00GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
Display Memory: 2668 MB
Edit:
Should rename this to Electrical effects causing crashes (Electric beam on abandoned space station, and [SPOILER] the derelict reaper ship core [SPOILER END]).
And the current temp solution is to play in windowed mode from what most people are saying."

Seems to be a problem with NVIDIA cards only or am I wrong. Has been mentioned several times before, the station, IFF mission and praetorians all use lightning effects which can cause a crash. If anyone has the problem on something other than NVidia card can they say which card they are using.

All shall point against the "generator" in the middle of the room on the far side from where you are standing. It is fairly hard if you don't look for it because I missed it, the thinking is that you need to overload the generator for the door to open.
