Seeker Swarm (Power) DoT?

According to the Mass Effect Wiki, it says in the notes section that Seeker Swarm can be used to do DoT... That's not true? This power doesn't appear to do damage over time. However I notice it has a variable named effectduration, which is set to 4 seconds - which is separate from the slowing duration of 4 seconds.

Anyone have insight into this? I thought it did it on impact just like biotic orbs. It's pretty much a rebranded version of it.

Wiki has been wrong before... Maybe effectduration is the slowing effect? Kalence says the base effect duration for the slowdown effect of seeker swarms is four seconds.

But there is a variable named slowingduration also set to 4. Could just be an error in the game files. I see unused variables all the time.

It's interesting. This power has a projectile version of it with a whole different set of stats. It's like seeker swarm was something else then got canned and turned into a rebranded biotic orbs. Biotic orbs does not have effectduration either if I recall.

It had a cooldown of 9 seconds and appeared to be able to hit players.

[...] and appeared to be able to hit players.

There might just be the reason why it was redone.

Not really. For example shield boost hits players. Maybe if a player is in the radius the swarm would defend them.

Interesting. Unlike most powers where you up the amount of something, this power actually scales.

For example, the base powers spawns 3 orbs, with a delay of 0.4 seconds. Using this you can determine the speed that the orbs spin. The 4 orb rotation has 0.3 seconds, which means it spawns all orbs in 1.2 seconds using a normal animation. By setting this to a value of 8 with half delay, you can make it show 8 orbs evenly placed around you. Only a few powers scale with it, like the size of the stasis bubble.

It seems I remember they sometimes stun as well as slow. Like I believe I recall Dragoons will get the electrocuted animation from time to time when you hit them with a swarm.

Maybe they were initially designed to be like enemey seeker swarms, before they redesigned them as lame Green Biotic Orbs.

Don't enemies hit with a seeker also glow green, as if they were primed by dark sphere?

Maybe this effectduration is the duration of the glow.

Yes, but in theory for a duration corresponding to the slowing duration. Not sure what Bioware did there.

Pretty sure the DoT is ZERO..did a collectDept run l;ast night...for kicks I started throwing swarms at enemies 1st...so I can get thru the challenge points quicker...Nothing..like 1 bar of health would disappear...I am sure they are there just for detonation purposes only
