And can we also get the Descent OST aswell? The battle music that played during Darkspawn battles was freaking awesome.

I'll re-add the link I posted some time ago of a few of the tracks I recorded as videos and the converted to mp3s It's 5 in total and it's the most important ones. The quality is alright for the time being even though at the very ending of the Solas part when the music speeds up my Lavellan talked right trough it, it was not possible to stop her, but I think it's cute so I didn't cut that part.

Hope you people enjoy while we wait for the OST to be released!

Oh, see that's even smarter than what I did XD I used the flycam and freeze frame so I would freeze immediately when the music started and recorded with fraps and then converted to mp3 XD But even when you use the freeze option sometimes if the dialogue is about to start it will start nonetheless.

I'll bear this in mind for next time haha

I eventually recorded my own through the game. Just run audacity, lower everything except music and use combat pause while it loops for a bit. Clean up in audacity afterwards. Also, there are two versions of the Saarath fight music. One for each fight. I've only seen the second version online.

Jaws of Hakkon, The descent , Trespasser, all 3 dlc's themes (tavern's songs too) are fantastic and well inspired, at least as good as, if not better, than the original OST.

I love the music in Descent when you fight the waves of Darkspawn and the final battle in Trespasser. Best music ever! Reminds me a lot of the Thor soundtrack.

I've heard some of the rips on youtube, and they're bad. Mine sound exactly as they appear in game. Not sure what they did differently.

Has anyone explained (or can someone who knows explain) why they might be unable to release the soundtrack from the DLC?

I know Mike Laidlaw has commented a couple times on it (last I saw was Oct. 24th), and it wasn't "deciding whether to do it" but rather "not sure if we can do it."

 

Why would Bioware be unable to release that music?

The "Dark Solas Theme" in the soundtrack is the battle version of the solas theme, also titled "We fight on" in the original files.

 

I was surprised they omitted the other version of the Solas theme, the one titled "the Dread Wolf" in youtube/original game files that does not have the background orchestration. I think it is the better version, and is also the more memorable one because it plays when you speak to solas at the end.

 

But I guess they thought the two were too similar to have two versions in the same soundtrack, but still...

That soundtrack is missing quite a lot of themes from the DLC.
