Why isn't Trespasser coming to 360? Because your X Box will melt. Seriously.

No we didn't. We paid full price for half of the game . The rest as been chopped up and is now called DLC.  And btw  I was gifted a PS4 but those things  aren't  cheap . And I like most had to repurchase the  f***ing game again to play the other DLCs.  And starting all over is a freaking chore to do .

Tresspasser is not cut content, it's an epilogue. Cut content is stuff like Shale and Javik.

Refund? Bro, you paid for the base game not the DLCS. It's not like they offered a season pass for old gen and current gen and then suddenly decide not to release half the DLCs marketed in the season pass on old gen.

Seems fair given it probably took way more work to get it to work on the old clunkers like the 360/PS3.

Their choice to do that. They didn't have too.

Too much limitation. You should have known the risks of buying it on an older system.

Yes, they clearly should have been able to look into the future.

To be fair,
I don't blame BW,
EA is shady and I'd bet that they're behind it.
Not that it rectifies the situation.
But,
With the release of a new console,
Comes the dropping of support for the old one.
As I said,
I agree with you, it is unfair.
But unfortunately,
It isn't going to be corrected.

Believe me I know all about unforeseen circumstances. We all have responsibilities. We all have bills. It's just like any other hobby. If I want a newer Jeep Wrangler, I'd have to sell my old wrangler. Or my motorcycles or my classic cars, Et cetera.

Which is why I sold my old system to fund the new one.
And then I was hosed having to re-buy games.
It sucks being shafted.
Sony has no intention of correcting it, as unfair as it was. (Figure $60 per game X2 for 4 titles, that's 8x$60=$480 technically)

And EA doesn't give 2 ***** about gamers.
Heck,
If I was wealthy (or reduced my hobbies or payed off a few more things) I'd help the guy out myself. (Easy to say I know, but if ya knew me (which ya don't, but if ya did) I'm being genuine when I say that.)
But that's where it stands and many here can feel for you.

1. Talking about Bioware and EA as if they are separate entities is not congruent with reality. They are one and the same, Bioware is a brand of EA alongside EA Sports.

2. It isn't the developers fault that you refuse to/cannot buy a new system. We can't all be held back because of the minority of gamers who find themselves in that situation. Descent and Trespasser required larger npc populations to pull off the effect the story was going for. They wouldn't have been able to do that if they were still bound by 10 year old technology. Malice has nothing to do with it, it's simply progress of technology. DAI is on a next gen engine, it'd be ludicrous for them not to take advantage of everything it has to offer because it will light a few antiquated systems on fire. The decision to withhold these DLCs from previous generations was the only viable choice.

What a load. You paid full price for a full game, which you got. Nothing was chopped out of the game to be resold as DLC.

By the way, you probably should cut back on the hyperbole. It makes it really, really hard to sympathize with you.

 First off ..hyperbole?

And also  you've probably played all 3 DLCs . And from the looks it . The first two could have easily been added to the base game. And you actually believe that ,then you

are a sucker . I don't need you to sympathize . You're not stuck with two copies of the same game with a story that now leads to nowhere .

Most of you made it clear that it's the gamers fault for not submitting to buying the next gen consoles right away. For now I'm done discussing this .

This just gives me stuff to look forward to when I am finally able to get a next gen console.

Xbox One and PS4 are not next gen consoles. They are current gen consoles. It bugs me when people refer to them as next gen.

Even current gen isn't an appropriate description. They are still largely behind the current gen PCs in terms of hardware. Especially when it comes to system and video ram.

It was a good decision, and no doubt DLC was better for it. I can't help but wonder how much better the base game would have been without support for antiquated crap.

It is absolutely an appropriate description for consoles. Consoles will always be behind current gen PCs. You're discussing apples and oranges.

They're both computers, consoles and PC are just terms. The only difference is the native OS. Consoles will never be "current gen" when the hardware is over 5 years old compared to what's on the PC market today. As much as an upgrade PS4 and Xbox One were over their predecessors, it still wasn't enough to max out DAI or play at 60fps with mediocre settings.

 First off ..hyperbole?

hyperbole ‎(plural hyperboles)

  1. (uncountable, rhetoric, literature) Deliberate or unintentional overstatement, particularly extreme overstatement.
  2. (countable) An instance or example of such overstatement.

And also  you've probably played all 3 DLCs . And from the looks it . The first two could have easily been added to the base game. And you actually believe that ,then you
are a sucker . I don't need you to sympathize . You're not stuck with two copies of the same game with a story that now leads to nowhere .

So your position is that Bioware had the content of those three DLCs chopped out of the base game and then waited for months after launch to start releasing them... what, for funsies?

And apparently I'm a sucker for not jumping to the same baseless conclusion as you. Okay.

Furthermore, that was some world-class putting-words-in-my-mouth you just did there. When I think this is the gamers' fault and they should just buy more things, I will actually say that, thank you.

My position, all along, has been simply that last-gen players got the game that they paid for and, therefore, any claim that they deserved any sort of refund is a total farce. I never said you shouldn't be upset about the situation.

Additionally, as lackluster as it might have been, the original game did have a mostly suitable ending, so I also reject the erroneous belief that last-gen players are now playing a game with no ending just because they can't play Trespasser.

Then Bioware shouldn't have released it on the older systems at all. If anything these people are  owned a full refund.

Not a console gamer myself, strictly PC, but I have to agree with you. From what I've seen on youtube of the old gen console version, DAI looks and play horrendously. It actually looks worse visually than DA2 because in order for it to run at a semi passable framerate they had to lower the visual settings to what would be the lowest on PC (which looks vastly worse than DAO / DA2 even). Everything from the worst plastic hair to completely messed up lighting and shadows tells me Bioware should never have released DAI on 360 / ps3 at all.

I suspect they realized this (no consolation to those who spent hard earned money on it I guess) and that's why they didn't bother releasing the DLC on old consoles - it just looks and runs so bad on those it wasn't worth the added embarassment for them.

First off I'm new to forums so bare with me lol.....I am a 360 user and I was unaware at the time I purchased the game I would not be able to get game content as they did say it would be supported ....
However after watching live playthrough of Trespasser I understand why the couldnt put it on old consoles it was beautiful.
Unfortunately I do not agree that we should have to purchase the game again that's ridiculous especially if someone upgraded to a new system that supports the oldergen games. Its a shady move on their part.
I'm very sad I was unable o play the epilogue, I feel it should have been in the game and not a DLC. They seem to have bee a little money hungry when it comes to the DLC content for DAI.
Overall the story was amazing but I won't rebuy the game just for a DLC.

Does anyone know if Trespasser will be available I the keep for everyone though? They should at least make it available for everyone I don't want to essentially be forced to buy the game again just to carry over to DA4.

Im not complaining I understand but they really shouldnt make us buy the game again if it won't be in the keep. Hope everyone is having a good day :)

?
I'm on PS4 and have been since release. I'm not the OP.

But while EA may own BW, to assume that they're all working together side-by-side would be incorrect.
My point was;
When important decisions need to be made, I'd bet that falls on EA. Pushing release dates, which content to cut/include, which platforms to support (or not), pricing, and on-and-on.
