Found this schematic from running the war table mission "Stop War between Nevarra and Tevinter". I do not know if this came with 1.10 or Trespasser. But it is really cool. I have an image of the schematic and some animations of the attack.

That is cool. I like the buffs it gives and I really like that it has a great sword animation.
AW, I mean KE, should have had some sort of swords to begin with. Not necessarily 2H, but still.
That does make me recall when I tried to run AW with Yusaris in DAO. Not all that effective, but it was entertaining. 
I've just been messing around with it. Stats-wise it's not as good as the Seer Staff with Dragon Blade and Hilted Staff Grip, but it makes up for it with better base damage (77 vs 71 for staffs with T4 materials). Unfortunately, even though the average damage is slightly better, crit chance is way lower, which hurts Flashpoint & just being able to spike things down. It's pretty fun, though.

AoE too? blasted mages get all the cool toys.
This means that Rift Mage with this sword may make for a better jedi build than KE, although the KE passives are definitely still better.
i haven't tried this yet, but as soon as i learned of this sword i had a idea, tell me what you guys think.
for a knight enchanter.
make this sword, with frost damage.
use frost step, with cold damage upgrade--winters grasp with new upgrade for 1000% damage to chilled or frozen targets.
have Spirit blade with amplified blade--fade cloak with either upgrade--stasis lock with new upgrade for improved Spirit blade damage to targets inside it (kinda optional but i like it.)---another optional would be the new blizzard upgrade, where its not a toggle and just has one cost and a duration.
now imagine, you dash in, do damage, start auto attacking, targets are chilled so now frost armor is up, your takeing 50% reduced damage while building barrier---also amplified blade makes your charges go up fast---spirit blade nuke while targets are inside your stasis lock---any target you auto is game for 1000% damage winters grasp
i see big potential here, but i don't have the items yet to test it INGAME. what do you all think??

No offense leather slots? Bleh I would never use it. I need me some crit. Then again it could be pretty nice on Necromancers since dots don't crit.

I fully agree this is probably the best Necromancer staves. But I want crit on Rift Mages as I'm cooldown limited. I need more critical hits. I won't comment on Knight Enchanters as they seem in a bit of a flux at the moment.

Well, that's what Dragon Staff Blade and Hilted Staff Grip are for. But yeah, you can't get nearly the same amount of crit as you get from the Seer Staff or Wrath of Lovias.

Interesting...I messed with it a bit and didn't notice healing, but it procced an ability that looked like "Mark of the Riff" from the Virtuoso. I.e., added a couple of extra hits of elemental damage to every attack while it was up. Good time to cast Energy Barrage.
I found a rogue schematic called Griffon Mail from the war table-op Contact the Hero of Ferelden
I saw that, but it's a level 6 epic that you would not get until after Here Lies the Abyss. O_O

On a positive note, it is really awesome looking and seems to have a unique appearance (at least on Sera).
I'm kind of curious Blade of Tidarion interacts with the Storm Passive 'Gathering Storm'. If the cooldown reduction is every swing, or every hit? If it's every hit, and you swing the blade through 5+ enemies, that makes you able to reduce your cooldowns wickedly fast.

I'm sad that I learned about this after beating Trespasser. And that there was no way for me to get it in that game. Kind of frustrating. :\

Funny you should mention that, there is a longsword version of what the Blade of Tidarion does but it's only for warriors.

and I really hope this Tidarion blade isn't some kind of bug, where it's really a greatsword meant for warriors, but because of the bug, mages can equip it and thus it can be patched out later on.

Can anyone confirm if the Tidarion blade is indeed classified as a staff and thus Mage only?
I wonder if Warriors can wield it as a 2h greatsword.
