But I'm hoping when I start the Trespasser Dlc it will be made available. Considered maybe replaying after finishing this character to get the sword and create the arcane power house I want. However, I hate replaying the Hinterlands. Too much running around.

I have the DLC, completed it with another character, started this character fresh, and still didn't get it. Again, that may be because I already have it from Golden Nug, but I seem to get dupes of every other schematic, so ...

I have a bunch of character save files, some of which may not have completed the mission yet. I'll test all of them to see what happens. Someone on Reddit theorized that maybe only mage IQ's get it, but that was shot down pretty quickly.

I wish the base Dps on it wasn't horrible. Is pretty amazing though. I have the schematic though rarely craft it. I usually go with lyrium infused staff

The Blade has an exploit which doubles the damage of all your spells.

Only on enemies with zero armor. Still the double barrage is cool, and helpful if the enemy is susceptible to the rune type.

I've just been messing around with it.  Stats-wise it's not as good as the Seer Staff with Dragon Blade and Hilted Staff Grip, but it makes up for it with better base damage (77 vs 71 for staffs with T4 materials).  Unfortunately, even though the average damage is slightly better, crit chance is way lower, which hurts Flashpoint & just being able to spike things down.  It's pretty fun, though.

yeah presonally I prefer using a proper staff given you lose the abillity to attack from range with this in hand. IU tlook nice bu ******'s not good enough in trems of doing proper damage for me. Each to their own I suppose.

TRUE!

Honestly speaking though, this game isn't so hard to the point you can't sacrifice maximum damage output for looking awesome.

I've never been much of taking advantage of exploits though I may try it someday.

Found this schematic from running the war table mission "Stop War between Nevarra and Tevinter".  I do not know if this came with 1.10 or Trespasser.  But it is really cool.  I have an image of the schematic and some animations of the attack.

This weapon is baaaaaad - you have to hit people with it so that means getting up close and lots of damage for cloth wearers. Unless I'm using it wrong which is highly likely  :D

It's best for Knight-Enchanters who gain barrier as they do damage, so basically infinite barrier regen.

Other specs can use it, but as you noted, they'd have to switch to better armor, at least Medium.

Just giving the game another chance, and I'm currently playing a KE (already missing Origins, but that's another argument :D ), the idea of the weapon is fine and all... but the design is ghastly, it looks like an over sized tree trunk on my shoulder .... are there any mods that shrink it down. I really do wish they had adjusted the skeleton for this type of weapon, instead of having this visually horrid hilt floating there.
