Now that the DAI arc is finished and there's been a tradition of having a companion keep that role in the sequel...
Who's it most likely going to be?
So who's most likely going to retain companion status in DA4?

I haven't played the DLCs yet, so I could be laughably off-base, but I'm thinking Dorian.

Dorian is the most likely one.

I think he will be going to be a important NPC, specially because he is the leader of the new faction.
I think Scout Harding is going to be a companion in the next game.
Yeah I think so as well harding with the inquisitor's eyes within the tevinter and aid the new PC.

Let's see, as par as past companions go:
From Origins to Awakening: Oghren
From Awakening to Dragon Age ][: Anders(not counting justice since he's merged with Anders)
From Dragon Age ][ to Dragon Age: Inquisition: Varric
Cassandra and Vivienne can be Divine, so they're out.
Varric is always Vicount so he's out.
Iron Bull can die, so he's out.
Dorian is always a Magister, so he's out.
Blackwall can be executed by Orlais, so he's out.
Cole could return to the Fade so he's out.
That would leave Sera as a possible hangover

It could be sera or harding now that I think about it. This would fit.

Eh, Sera really has no reason to be in the next game if it does indeed take place in Tevinter. Dorian and Harding make more sense because he's in Tevinter already and she's still helping the Inquisitor (she's there if you choose the angry disband option at least).

They could bring back Fenris.
And also Merrill. She would probably worship Solas like a god.

Yeah thinking about it I can truly see Harding making a comeback as a companion she is rather well liked by the community and as I said before she will be the inquisitors eyes in the imperium. Plus the inquisitor will be aiding the new PC through Harding.

Sera did say to Dorian in companion dialogue that she has already been to Minrathous during the 2 year time jump. I don't think she will be a Companion in the next game but there is still a chance and that does give her at least some reason for her to be there.
Also I think Dorian is just going to be an NPC in the next game, helping us out and relaying Inquisition orders, Considering he has the Dragon Age version of a Cell Phone it seems.

Definitely Dorian.

Probably just Dorian.
I do hope we get the Inquisitor again. Dealing with Solas with someone else would be a real buzzkill.

No one.
Seriously, Solas is being set up as the big bad, and, as Leliana mentions, they need someone Solas can't see coming.

I don't think anyone. because they say it will have to be people Solas doesn't know. He would know anybody from the inquistion through spies or having meant them.

Dorian seems like the most logical one since the next game is going to be in Tevinter and all. He's one of the few characters that can't die, is well liked by the community, and he's one of the few that will actually be in the area.
It's really Dorian or nobody I think.

Not sure if an mmo will have companions.

I think Dorian might return as an advisor type person, Harding will become a companion and we'll probably get all new companions for the rest in the next game.

I think Dorian might be too important to be a follower, especially being a follower for a totally new PC.

kiddin (you may put down those pitchforks now
Could be Dorian and/or Sera
Dorian's already in TI anyway, so would be cool that if the next protag would be found by Dorian and he became that mentor figure.
Sera. Because she's Sera, could be somewhere or elsewhere or where ever. She might just suddenly pops back and decided to help again (or not).
Or there might be no returning companion in the next installment (which is fine by me). They might show up again in cameos or as important NPCs crucial to the plot/story but not more than that.
