They would basically have to write two versions of Cole though. I wouldn't rule out a cameo, but I doubt Cole will return as a companion.

Probably Dorian will be a companion seeing as it was hinted that will be going to Tevinter at the end of Trespasser. Also, probably Scout Harding just because she's a fan favorite.

Dorian will be there, but whether he continues as a companion remains to be seen. His status within the Imperium changed, so he could also be a candidate for advisor, if Bioware does something like that again.

And what if he was not a member of Inquisition or Inquisitor banish him, and what if he never met his father or they become hostage?

 

i definitely not want Dorian to have what he is never deserve and he was a shame and exile from Tevinter, i am not want to have connected with him or Maevetanis in DA4, we should have a choice

 

if he was with Inquisition it can be undestandable(and it was said why he is become Tevinter ambassador to Inquisition) how he become magister what was only because of his membership in Inquisition

Nobody in companion status, but Dorian as a quest-giver/advisor and Solas as the antagonist, I would think. Almost certainly - letters/missions from Celene/Alistair/Anora, Divine Victoria and Varric.

 

But I'd guess we'll get new party members. I thought briefly about Fenris, but that would require a retcon, and David Gaider is no longer on stage, so, yeah, new companions and romances it is. They're going to have their hands full, though: it's hard to think of a companion and a romance that's as good as Solas!

 

(really: Iron Bull betrays you, Blackwall betrays you, and Solas betrays you several times over, but I can't stay mad at Solas. Not ever. I only want to help him).

They're both magisters, I think it makes sense for both of them to take a less direct role, especially when their country is being invaded by Qunari.

In every ending she was become a new spymaster of Inquisition at the epilogue of DLC. Lelianna is no more

 

So she will become a DA4 rogue companion or advisor

Beyond Harding (representing the Inquisition), I think Maevaris Tilani will be a companion too (representing Dorian's new faction).
Calpernia and her previous lover Marcus are pratically a given to appear again too.

and decide going to tevinter ( thanks for varric info )

looking for glory or become hero like his brother / sister ( hawke is hero right ? )

she joined college or vivienne's circle and giving task to tevinter ( looking all about old gods maybe ?)

but DA4 event happened then she meet mc and decided going to helped them

they chasing rumor about a talking darkspawn in deep roads area around tevinter

but they met MC and then they or their companions persuade he/she to help them

he/she wants stay neutral and finally decide to help them

but you must help them first if they want join MC

 

sorry for my grammar ( its my 1st post ).......but i really want them to comeback

especially bethany because i really want marry romance her ( please dont let her lesbi....bi is okay for me    )

and i hope bioware have good scenario for them to comeback.....compared to mine hehehe

I was pretty sure that Mae would show up as a companion in DA4, but the fact that she's heading this new faction in the Imperium does make me wonder.  I'm certain she'll show up as a prominent character, but not sure if she'll be a companion.  However, if one of them (Dorian or Mae) is going to be a companion, I'm sure it would be her.  She's easier to write believably as being free enough to follow some rando-PC around.  Dorian's going to be to well integrated as the head of a noble house.

Nah, both Hawke siblings are dead in many playthroughs, so that wouldn't work.

Leliana for realsies this time. Dorian will definitely appear. Varric most likely won't given the events in Trespasser. The most we could possibly expect from the others is a cameo - Sera and The Iron Bull - although I suspect, given the importance of the plot, that the Inner Council will have a role to play given what Fen'Harel is planning. None will be companions.

Harding would be great, Dorian makes sense. But... I'm thinking someone from multiplayer, they already have rough backgrounds, can't be killed and Zither even showed up in trespasser. I think it would be perfect for one of the archers (they are the least insane out of all of them) or the newly set free reaver/necromancy who hates everyone. I think this could really tie inquisition with DA4 and a stronger connection between the campaign and multiplayer

You basically answered your own question. Let's say that you never recruited Dorian in any playthrough? It would be easy for Bioware to include him in the next game with a few simple coded commands that clarify everything that you detail as his back story. I often find that fans crow on about being limited in "their" choices, when they fail to consider that not everyone holds with their opinion. Dorian is one of the best companions in the entire franchise, at least to me!

I'd love to see some of the MP characters showing up.  Korbin, Luka, and Pala are awesome characters.  And I could definitely see an appearance by Katari and Hissera.

Dorian ALWAYS ends up in Tevinter leading the Lucerni, I imagine even if you tell him to bugger off in the main game he still goes back there and does that... so I'd wager Dorian. Or Scout Harding.

i really hope with Dorian and others this would be like with Alister who can be king or grey warden or drunken beggar because of our influence

 

if we not have and support him or make him hostage with his father he should not be a magister in Tevinter

It won't be the Warden, Solas even waited for the Warden to leave the continent before putting his plan in action. If Solas even hears the Warden is back he will go straight to ground.
