Let's see, as par as past companions go:

From Origins to Awakening: Oghren

From Awakening to Dragon Age ][: Anders(not counting justice since he's merged with Anders)

From Dragon Age ][ to Dragon Age: Inquisition: Varric

Cassandra and Vivienne can be Divine, so they're out.

Varric is always Vicount so he's out.

Iron Bull can die, so he's out.

Dorian is always a Magister, so he's out.

Blackwall can be executed by Orlais, so he's out.

Cole could return to the Fade so he's out.

That would leave Sera as a possible hangover

I read somewhere that Sera will be used only for organ and limbs harvesting purposes. You know, in case that Solas decides to keep chopping the Inquisitor.

IMO, there is a chance for Dorian to be used as a companion to whoever will be the new protagonist (or at least as an adviser). Because of Trespasser, I don't see IB, Cass, Varric or Viv playing as companions in a future game. Maybe Cole could be used as a spy or as a full companion.

Dorian is the most likely one.

I think it's more likely that he'll be a valuable ally through his faction to the new PC. I could see Maevaris Tilani being a companion however, representing the faction in the PC's party.

Scout Harding is also a very possible candidate for companion aswell now given Inquisition's ending.

If it's another companion as the current pattern shows, Dorian.
Harding will likely be another character or maybe even companion.

Maybe. But with us going to Tevinter anyway...and every other time it was a direct companion returning. Harding was important, but not a companion.

There's nothing really stating that there has to be returning companion, though.  Really, the 'returning companion' character has always served a very particular purpose:  to connect the current PC with the former PC in a direct way.  We've never really had such prominent NPCs in past games.  There wasn't really a "Harding" type character in DA:O and DA2.  An NPC who was with you the entire time and both a close compatriot and battle-ready warrior at the same time.  Anyone who fits those criteria has always been a companion.  So I don't really see a reason why it couldn't be Harding serving that purpose.  Yes, she wasn't technically a companion.  But she'd serve the continuity purpose that the "returning companion" fills.  And, frankly, I just don't see Dorian being a companion again given his story arc.  He's much better suited to a political power player now.

Nah, both Hawke siblings are dead in many playthroughs, so that wouldn't work.

how about putting them in dlc like sebastian

put them for bonus companions....and if in your playthroughs they are die

you got other like charade maybe or anyone who fit in dlc

but i think its too much effort for bioware to doing this

oh...well i guess only fanfic is good for them now

It won't be the Warden, Solas even waited for the Warden to leave the continent before putting his plan in action. If Solas even hears the Warden is back he will go straight to ground.

ooh solas afraid of HOF

i guess he must afaird of them

because HOF can kill mythal if they wanted too ( flemeth/myhtal fight them seriously right ? )

btw solas vs current HOF who gonna win ?

especially mage warden

Going left field... Solas isn't impossible. Even if he starts the game as the primary antagonist. Going through Bioware history consider Loghain, Death's Hand, Sarevok.

Going further left field I would love a return protagonist instead. All three have potential and bagage. I might in the minority but I'd be up for another Hawke game.
