I'm building what is very probably my third module.
In the past I've never much bothered with plots, quests or stages or journal entries.
I've been happy enough to plop down monsters, treasures, items and once in a while...the odd variable.
Are there any tutorials that handle plots and quests?

If you don't have them, the toolset manuals are useful for reference:

TYVM!
A simple question... but if you're rusty or new much harder to answer in 2015 than it was when the game was young.

Are you looking at how to script quests, or the basic concepts of types of quests?
I probably use the same half dozen or so generic scripts for 90% of the quests in my module. Since most quests are going to fall under the "scout this area" or bring X item to Y(or back to me), you can typically use the same format for almost every quest, and change parameters like item, area scouted, creature killed, rewards given, journal entries, etc. by using custom variables on the questgivers.

I am sorry if I am invading someone's thread but just felt like it was useless to create another similar thread...
I am actually finding myself struggling with the scripting of quests, trying to make them persistent for my module so apparently I had to script the quests otherwise they do not work. I believe it is only a language barrier that stops me from succeeding but would fully appreciate it if someone could take their time to explain it to me in a kindergarden kinda way.
I have been using the the lexicon tutorial to make a start, but it does not start (which I assume is just a variable mistake I made somehow or whatever but still would appreciate it if someone would take the time to walk me through it
)
again, sorry if I have been invading someone's thread with my own question if I have....

Well, "Who-said-that-I", as the one who started the thread let me extend to you a very warm welcome and the hospitality of this thread, such as it is! ![]()
I didn't feel you were rude (or "invading") at all. I'm a noob scriptor/module builder myself, struggling with the very same issue.
Honestly, I'm just completely thrilled that A) there is anyone out there who can put up with my questions and B)That there is still a lively interest in this game!

I know the feeling! I did manage to get the scripting quests to work though gotta say that I have lost some hair along the way due to a lot of hairpulling but yay people can do quests now! ![]()
