Notice how he calls you 'boss' all the time, then he calls me bas and all of a sudden I knew he was playing me from the moment the Chargers died.

Yup when you first talk to him when loading it up, he calls you that and you don't get any other interaction before the council

Thanks for sharing, I brought Cole and Bull with me - he didnt betrayed me but Cole said he was suffering. I think he gets kind of emotionless after the death of his chargers, thats why he doesnt give a duck here. Its pretty sad, though

Interesting...I saved Chargers and did Bull's personal quest, and I still had to kill him. To be honest I was a little dissapointment, while Bull should be harder to kill. He should be a mini boss...Now Im interesting about Chargers fate...

Odd, I never brought Bull with me on the DLC so maybe that has an affect on this? I did his personal quest and saved the Chargers, he never betrayed me though and was smiling with everyone else at the end.

Hmmmm, maybe you need high approval, too?

So cold. I got frostbite. Not that it isn't fair, there are plenty of signposts pointing to this throughout the game. But still. I've never saved the qunari and this still kinda makes me side-eye Bull and clutch my pearls. Lesson learned: always keep an ever so slight distance between yourself and the ben-hassrath agent.

Maybe or is a bug in the content.

Probably requires high approval. He didn't betray me at all. Not even thought about it; just said: "no chance."

If so, lets hope it gets fixed soon - poor inquis who gets backstabed :( (for not deserving it! Poor chargers)

So Bull turns on you no matter what?

No only if he is still qunari.

If you save the chargers he isn't part of the Qun anymore and he doesn't betray you. I took bull with me on all the missions, saved the chargers, and he never betrayed me. He just can't be part of the Qun.

That has to be a bug or perhaps you didn't do all of the conversations in Skyhold with him because I did save the Chargers and Bull did NOT turn on me. He gave the verbal finger to the Qunari when He was commanded to turn.

So yeah...that's not supposed to happen.

Probably a glitch because I had Gaspard be on the Orlesian throne when I saved Celene.

So this is what happens if you romanced Bull and sacrificed the chargers...

Oh I know my dwarf wasn't bugged had a  Qun Iron Bull and like someone noted he calls you the bad word upfront, but it does  sound close to boss when he says it. Had high approval, but allied with the Qun. My dwarf was a little bit over eager with gaining the qun's support briefly, but once I noticed bull acting differently it was just sad and knew no using him.

But going to wait for for more details before finishing up my other playhtrough I want to get done. Since he wasn't Qun in that one and the chargers even brought him a dragon skull for his birthday, so seems very happy

It's speculated that he was simply bullshiting everyone right from the start in this dlc and he waited till he was ordered too (since he believed with such a high number of qunari, they could do it)

I guess Cole's words pretty much confirm that, yes. He says Bull was "always ready", that there "wasn't any pain" and he didn't feel it. If Bull had felt doubts, regrets, guilt, Cole would have sensed that ... but as it is, even he didn't see it coming because without pain behind it, he couldn't tell what Bull was ready for. Cole sounds quite sad in his quiet way about it.

That "bas" is just nasty, but in the end, I suppose anyone who shoved Bull back under the Qun should have seen that coming.

Chances are in those 2 years Bull was reeducated and any empathy he might've had went the way of the dodo so really the Inquistor brought it on themselves.

I hear the DLC is quite heavily bugged when it comes to properly importing choices. But this issue must be a particularly nasty glitch if you "did it right" and he still betrays you.

Oh yes, very good point. They would absolutely have re-brainwashed him as thoroughly as they possibly can after seeing him almost "go native", hesitate to obey orders, and follow a thing's decision instead during his personal quest.

Edit: And since Cole can sense even very old emotions very clearly, I wonder if Iron Bull willingly submitted to the brainwashing instead of requiring any kind of coercion that would have left some kind of "distress-imprint" on him. A nasty thought, but ... it would make sense. I've big issues with the DLC, but this is definitely very fitting.

Yeah I've had bugs where Bull was talking like he was still Qunari. I VERY quickly reloaded because I read the spoilers about the betrayal and did not want that accidently getting flagged.

I mean the letters and epilogues imply that the higher ups of the Qun didn't approve of this so I still don't fully get why Bull was so quick to turn. Even if the Qun government had been lying to Josephine, would qunari really use elven magics in the form of Eluvians and use lyrium supplies to enhance their mages? If Qun > all, then even the threat of the end of the world wouldn't allow them to bend it like that.

Overall though, I give props to Bioware for pulling a Yoshimo with Bull and having our choices actually matter in the long run. And yeah, when you think about it, letting someone who admits to being a spy into your organization is pretty stupid and Bull played his part really well.

Yeah, I know someone with almost the same choices save import as me who had IB betray him, when I didn't. It is glitchy, there's more issues then just IB however.

Like how he has nothing to say to you at the beginning at the Winter Palace even if you romanced him. Gee something must be up.

More like he pulled a Zevran. I'm so glad Bioware put this in. You can't seriously expect somebody loyal to an enemies army to stay loyal to you. Sten would have done the same.
