I dressed 'Bull in formal wear in anticipation of this scene (did not know it would play out like so, but still).
It was pretty glorious. He looked like a true villain in that outfit.
And he melted like ice cream -- LOL!

So Bull turns on you no matter what?
It could be bug, while I have some problems with this DLC regardnig World State
Interesting...I saved Chargers and did Bull's personal quest, and I still had to kill him. To be honest I was a little dissapointment, while Bull should be harder to kill. He should be a mini boss...Now Im interesting about Chargers fate...
Really depends on Bulls equipment. I played with Inquisitor (tank), Varric, Vivienne (specced as KE) and Bull (Twohander). My Inquisitor and Vivienne were unkillable through the whole DLC on nightmare with most of the challenges on. Because my equipment was the absolute maximum. But in this situation Bull with his maxed out gear killed my whole party in less than 5 seconds. He killed a full barrier Vivienne with guardian spirit up in less than two seconds (his +5 hidden blades masterwork procced on her).
I had to undress him to win this fight.
What gets to me isn't the fact the Bull betrays me, but that our friendship and the friendship he had with others in Inquisition all meant NOTHING to him.
The part that hurts the most in his betrayal is his line. "Nothing personal, bas." That crap is just very powerful as it shows that a Bull that stayed with the Qun never cared or respected the Inquisitor, it was all an act.
I knew there was a reason I never liked the Iron Bull. >_>
Inquisitor: "Only the Qun deals in absolutes! I shall do what I must."
Iron Bull: "You will try!"
*Lightsaber battle ensues*
I gotta admit, I kinda love it. ZE DRAMA!
I enjoyed killing him. I love FPJ, but Iron Bull was James Vega with horns. He just didn't fit imo.
Does it happen regardless of romance?
I never liked him either. The Chargers, yes, and that's why he would live if I were to play this DLC. But not him. That's not why I give thumbs up his to betrayal and death, though ... rather, this is an example of what I mean what I say that I like a "good death". It doesn't have to be redemptive or sacrificial or "noble" in some other way. Sure, that helps because I tend to be a bit of a sucker for that sort of thing at times
, but the main requirement is that it fits the character, which this definitely does to a T.
I think the biggest gut-punch by far would be him betraying you even if the Chargers survive, meaning if you never did his quest, because that would also mean betraying the people who were his friends and family much moreso and for much longer than the Inquisition was. Or does he simply not return for the DLC in that case, similar to how I hear Cole does not return if you never helped him?
well you killed his freinds what did you excpect ? the only thing left for him was the Qun . i would do the same if you killed my freind just for more power . die you selfish bas
"Nothing personal" my ass. This guy fought with my Inquisitor for years. How is anything more personal then that?
He's a soldier. he told you he was in the first place when you recruited him. you chose that he need to stay with the Qun. he got a direct order from a general officer of the Qun. he is right nothing personal
Does it happen regardless of romance?
Yep. Sorry, man.
So Bull turns on you no matter what?
Nope, he didn't turn on me. He said, "Hell No, ma'am!" or something along those lines.

So if the Chargers are alive that doesn't happen? I thought that would have happened either way.
Bull was with me at this place and he said something like .... I can't remember. I will look. But he stays with me.
I made his personal quest, we are very good friends and his chargers are alive.
Did she still try to get him to betray you?
Yes, but he answer something else like in the video ....
EDIT:
Here it is, but in german:

Translation: Forget it, mylady! ("This you can forget, Mylady!")
.
Not that mad by his betrayal anymore, it made it a bitter-sweet ending. I can liken it to Andraste being betrayed by Maferath. You know being her herald and all... lmao
Killing Bull(at least romanced) should have had a cinematic.
but this tho...
lol

"Njohoho! Pass the salt, my dear!"
Damn orlesians. ![]()
Sucks to be people who let the chargers die or ignored his quest
my Inquisitor and Bull are getting married and he had no hesitation killing all the Qunari who attacked us or tried to get him to betray. ![]()

Before people go crazy over his betrayal, he was most likely re-educated after he returned to the Qun, that way he would be their most ideal weapon to attack the Inquisition with, and he would not remember or feel anything as Cole said. Also I think he was a planned betrayer from the moment he joined, but we changed him. I think in ending dialogue with Solas, he says this attack from the Qunari was planned way before this DLC. By befriending and/or romancing him and saving the ones he cared about, you stopped him from become what he is in this scene if you let him fulfill his original duty.

What does he say in english? When the Qunari ask him to betray the inquisitor ...
In german it's something like: "Forget it, Mylady".
We are just friends, the chargers live, but we have NO romance. He stay my friend and don't betray me. ![]()

I forget the exact words but something like "not a chance...ma'am."
I am sure that I have the conditions for him not to betray me, but yet he did. I'm guessing bugs?

I hope the music for that scene is memorable (assuming it's an opera or operetta).
So this is what happens if you romanced Bull and sacrificed the chargers...

I appreciated seeing the videos that you made. It helps me plan out some of what I do on a few playthroughs.
