I am sure that I have the conditions for him not to betray me, but yet he did. I'm guessing bugs?
Others have reported this too, yes. According to many people, the DLC has issues importing choices properly.

You're welcome!I appreciated seeing the videos that you made. It helps me plan out some of what I do on a few playthroughs.
Not mad about Qunari Bull's betrayal, I'm actually glad something like that was put into the game.

It reminds me of when you have low approval with Zevran and he tries to kill you again when the Crows appear to finish the job.
What gets to me isn't the fact the Bull betrays me, but that our friendship and the friendship he had with others in Inquisition all meant NOTHING to him.
To be fair at that point he'd probably undergone 2 years of reeducation ![]()

There are something also really stand out. First when you first talk to him in that inn, all he says is what's up boss and that's it. No cutscene, no nothing. It's very possible when he returned to the Qun he lost all of his connection to the quizy and was now a loyal qun lapdog. His final line shows that he didn't respect or care for them and that this betrayal was planned (if you don't bring him, he comes out of a door after being ordered by Viddasala)

Indeed as much as it hurt, it was a very powerful scene and I'm very happy Patrick did it. It adds a very good consequence.

Yeah it's quite sad. Shows how the qun can totally break a person I guess.
Welp I never sacrifice the chargers except on #Assquisitor so I don't have to worry about being stabbed in the back. *skips happily* Bull's happy, I'm happy and the Qunari get their asses kicked. Everyone wins.

I was wondering how he'd show up in that case.

And his "friend" the Inquisitor essentially sent him back on a silver platter, after having Bull's "family" killed to boot. Really, in this case the first betrayal is the Inquisitor's choice to sacrifice a loyal group of soldiers for a very questionable alliance with a bunch of completely off the charts fanatics. The enemy of my enemy isn't always my friend, especially when they see me as a literal thing that must be converted by any means, or failing that destroyed. Such people do not have allies.
As much as I may dislike the Iron Bull, at least he was honest about being an elite spy for the qunari. The consequences of that are handled very well.

Are we going to save Bull's Chargers?
Or are they expendable for the sake of the qun?
There is no difference between the inquisitor sacrificing the chargers
and Bull following orders and attacking the Inquisitor.
It's not personal.
And yes, I took Bull.
And when it happened, I thought - ok, figures...
I think we all know Bull was going to betray us when we sacrificed the chargers. For me it was always "ok when is it going to happen" and even when it does happen it's just a well done scene because it's not dragged out or made dramatically. It's right to the point, harsh and simple, however I can't hate Bull because it was not personal.
So if the Chargers are alive that doesn't happen? I thought that would have happened either way.
Bull is Tal-Vashoth, so he isn't a part of the Qun anymore if you save them. The moment she said "Hissrad", I knew it was on.
It burns even worse if you actually romanced him and did the companion quest, because he's totally just as cruel and straight-to-the-point.
Made sense to me. "Sacrifice what you love for your duty" was the lesson from his personal mission if you sack the chargers. Can't fault him for following through on your own principle.
Only have one game where I did that choice though, glad it was my first tresspasser playthrough so I was unspoiled to that moment, even if it was as predictable as a race between a snail and a cheetah.
I enjoyed killing him. I love FPJ, but Iron Bull was James Vega with horns. He just didn't fit imo.
For a brief moment I thought it over and perhaps Bull was reeducated. He was after all a person with a strong free will which the Qun may not like, plus his "friendship" with you and the rest of your party. But I toss that idea out. That last line he says to you sounds very sarcastic like he's taken what you fought and bleed for together, he's just throwing it all back into your face.
What Sera says about bull`s betrayal? And what Dorian says if they are together with Bull?
Other than the voice and having bigger stature than the rest of the team, he shares absolutely no character traits with Vega.
You know how somw people are, they hear a related voice and ignore the rest
More like he pulled a Zevran. I'm so glad Bioware put this in. You can't seriously expect somebody loyal to an enemies army to stay loyal to you. Sten would have done the same.
I think Sten is the better model for Bull's behavior. Zevran is/was flaky, but he had no loyalty to anyone. Funny enough as long as you didn't ****** him off he stays loyal to the warden. Bull on the other hand has his loyalties pretty well out there. Bull never hid them, not matter what you chose it was obvious where he placed his bets.
Not that mad by his betrayal anymore, it made it a bitter-sweet ending. I can liken it to Andraste being betrayed by Maferath. You know being her herald and all... lmao
Killing Bull(at least romanced) should have had a cinematic.
but this tho...
Spoiler
lol
Damn Orleasians have no mercy. Harsh.
What Sera says about bull`s betrayal? And what Dorian says if they are together with Bull?
Sera wasj ust very very very pissed, and rightfully so. Sera is not like the Inquisitor, Varric, Cass or Vivie. **** like this is not really new to them. So yeah they are upset but they can hold themselves together, Sera is just a civie who likes to throw bees at people. This will have a more emotional impact on her.
Also wasn't it around Bull's birthday by the end of the DLC? What a terrible time to die to for him.
