An elite... nug? By "fought," I assume you mean "chased it all over Haven until it disappeared at one of the world transitions"? Or do nugs now have offensive abilities?

I wailed on it for about five minutes,
lol. It didn't run around that much. However, I also fought a mage in witchwood that wouldn't take any damage. It almost wiped my party, so I went to a camp to refill my potions. When I returned and fought him again he died in two seconds. I think that there is some kind of invulnerability bug going on in the trials.

Looks like they took the leveling concept from ME3 Armax Arsenal Arena and applied it to DAI SP. Nice!

Yeah on a reroll the first Templar group I ran into in the Hinterlands had a "promoted" elite Templar with 4k life and immune to frost and had full guard (I was level 3 with 400 life)

I had "Even Ground" selected and I was out in the Hinterlands, and those few stronger fade rifts were not to my level. Things spawned out and I saw the skull on their health bar and took off. Didn't even see what level they were set at.

I thought "Walk Softly" was cool to change up the game, but when I run into two level 4 mages in the beginning of the game, that have barriers that take a while to take down, and then go back up quickly, I unclicked that option. If I wanted "harder" I'd up the difficulty. I thought new abilities meant like attacks and skills. Mages have barriers, ok, fine. Taking ten minutes to kill one level 4 mage, not cool.

Edit: How are people crafting tier 4 schematics? I mean I know how, but with tier 1 materials is it even possible, or worth it?

Enemies do have different abilities: mind blast, leaping shot etc. The elites are a pain though. Infinite barrier/guard and massive health pools take along time to whittle down at early levels.

The wording is important. Even Ground says that the enemies will scale to *at least* the Inquisitor's level, which means that they can be higher. The modifier makes it so that there is never anything weaker than the Inquisitor; it does still allow stuff to be stronger.

Can't quite play the DLC yet. Has anybody encountered promoted Templars that had Spell Purge, or other Templar abilities?

Even Ground does not appear to work, or if it, it is based on your level when you enter a zone.

Yeah it is based on entering zone.

But I toggled all of these difficulty options on and man soloing rifts is pretty darn hard now (unless you're ke)

Health pots restoring 1 health seems kind of goofy.  The rest seem pretty interesting.

I don't get the point of the healing reduction either, why not just remove all forms of healing?

What do these "special shipments" mean? Is it something you get when you travel back to Undercroft in Skyhold? If so, when do you get them, how many trials are needed? Why does Bioware add features and never explain anything!?

Probably a code limitation. If they set it to 0, some math probably divides by zero and crashes the game. ;) Besides, since health potion slot is permanent and camps refill, rather than change all that code, just easier to set value to 1.

Zoning out and back in seemed to work.  That being said, I was trying to kill higher level rams last night.  Lawl!   Because they run away you basically have to stealth attack or freeze them to have a chance.

While these are great and I'm glad to see Bioware trying to improve the challenge of the game, I'm still wishing for larger mobs and/or more waves of enemies. Shouldn't be a platform problem any longer, since PS3 and Xbox360 were dropped.

Well descent and trespasser had good mob density. Hopefully future games will too.

The healing trial (Rub some dirt on it) also applies to Regeneration Potions.

I just soloed Corypheus at 27 on Nightmare with all Trials on, just so you guys don't have to. Trials are for the early/mid game and for preventing you to reach the end game, not for characters at the level cap with T4 everything. At this point, Cory and his dragon are still glorified target dummies, with a fair bit more health than I remembered, but still struggling to deal any sort of damage to you.

Try all trails on and fight the Descent fire room fight . The two orges, one of them now seems to be stronger, every hit deals 150+ damage with my 500+ armor.

Haven't tried temple fight in JOH yet, guess it also will be very fun now.

So I've started a new game with all trials on (but only on normal because I'm too old for this ****) and it hasn't been too difficult, but health potions are going to be a big issue in the future. Haven't made it too far into the game, just finished recruiting Sera & Viv and heading back out to the Hinterlands.

As for rewards, I've received an Amulet of Barrier from the special shipments so far, but I have noticed the ! for it appears pretty much every time I come back to Haven whether there's something for me or not.

The only one I am even tempted to try is Even Ground.  Could help with difficulty and also means you should, theoretically, never run out of enemies to gain xp on.  Which means you will level up faster and also those 'pointless' side quests and zones have a point now.  Though Dragon fights which automatically scale *wince*

So does enabling these require purchasing Trespasser?  I don't see the options anywhere...

Has anyone gotten any of the achievements for completing these trials yet? I am curious as to how hard it is to get the achievements for them.  I am probably going to start a new game as a sword/shield warrior so I can hopefully survive and get the achievements for them on Hard (nightmare will probably be too difficult for me with the trials on.)

Anyone have any advise for me on braving the trials?

I am liking walking softly as it adds what i thought was missing in the series from 2 onward which is enemies having better skiils. That is how i want difficulty to be handled, not hp/dmg increase.
