Hi,

 

There are a few quests that depend on decorative gems (initially from the Templars in Hinterlands). However, if you haven't received the quests prior to stopping the Mage/Templar conflict in Hinterlands you are practically out of luck finding these Decorative Gems.

 

It would be nice if you could either add them to a merchant if you've completed the Hinterlands or alternatively make some other mob drop it (Outlaws, Venatoris or put the drops in random chests) so those that have quest OCD can complete these quest.

The requisition system in this game is so weak, and this is one of the bigger examples why.

 

Anything that keeps a quest in your log without a way to resolve it or at least discard it is going to annoy too many players.

So at level 18 I decided to make a new character for fun and to satisfy my OCD questing habits of reading everything, listening to every voice-over and finishing all the quests in my log. 

 

Behold I collect a whooping 19 Decorative Gems just to make sure that I have enough before all the templars and mages disappear.

 

Then I get this:

Don't take quest like this if you have done Hinterlands a bit further. Make a savegame just BEFORE you get a new mission and if they give you one like this: Reload.

 

Gems can also be found from the fighting Mages in the Witch Forrest, between Redcliffe & Horse Ranch. And also at this Burning City ....
