So just played through Tresspass DLC after putting over 120hrs into my Female Qunari Mage only to find out that you have no choice put to lop off one of your hands leaving your Inquisitor crippled,it was bad enough having to pay for a expansion to get some answers because the main story ending was intentionally vague all the while being denied any meaningful choices only to find out that yet again we are given no meaningful choice because whether you keep or disband the Inquisition you still have to lop off a hand making a Sword and Shield or Archer character useless from that point on.

I'm hesitant to actually finish my other Inquisitors now as I don't want to leave them crippled too its a shame you cant get refunds on DLC because I havent felt like I have wasted my time on a charcter this much since playing the campaign of Halo Reach years back

Well, your choices would be amputation or death. Is death really better? As for archers, I feel like one of the endings was tailor-made just for them.

That is a moral discussion, but no one can live alone without an arm, would be hard and really sad, wake up every morning and see you haven't your hand.

The inquisitor saves the world, she/he doesn't deserve that end.

Its the same inquisitior, only with one arm less. It should not really bother you that much, be a lil bit more open minded. It will be challenging but I am sure bioware has some nice things to show us with it

I really don't see any reason to get bent out of shape. I admit that I never considered that our character might lose their limb, but given that is what occurs, I find that it makes sense (and I really should have seen this coming).  Sorry that you don't like what happened!

I'm sure we can safely assume that if you don't buy the DLC and for whatever reason the inquisitor does show up in the next game, they will likely still be one handed - they'll probably give a quick explanation about how their mark was out of control.

And what option did the Inquisitor have?

It was a great DLC, but it's right somehow: We don't have a lot of options at the end.

A option where the Inquisitor DIE would be great (for some people, not for me to be honest) and a REAL Haypp End (with some expansive magic to make the forearm grown back) would be nice. A some options between this both.  This for the personal chiose.

For the Inquisition I see only: Disband or be part of the church. Not a lot to be honest.

For me it was enough, only this thing with the forearm drives me crazy. :( I'm a CharacterCreator Fan and .... I don't want to have a handicaped Inquisitor Lady. :(

It's a metaphor for the inquisition being h-armless.

I'm sure my Adaar will just have Dagna forge him some kick ass magic weapon prosthetic. No big deal. Iron Bull has only one eye and he gets along just fine.

I don't doubt if we see the Inquisitor again it will be with the addition of some forged dwarf-made prosthetic. Enchanted or otherwise. I think it's actually kind of interesting that they went that route, and it does make sense. It was going to kill you. At least now you've survived and can come back in future installments, or have a better reason to not be the New Hero if we get a new protagonist than "...they just disappeared."

You... do realize that we'll probably be playing a different character in the next game, right? If there is one. Considering it hasn't been given the green light yet?

Just going by past experience, Hero of Ferelden in DA, Hawke in DA2, Inquisitor in DAI... something something in DA4.

Dagna is a very talented individual. She will be able to craft a mechanical arm for the Inquisitor.

As far as the Inquisitor losing his/her arm. Its that or death.

The inquisitor saves the world, she/he doesn't deserve that end.

Plenty of people can and do live without an arm, some live without all of their limbs and it does not prevent them from living their lives from morning to night to morning once more. They learn to adapt to it and it does not limit their ability to be badass whether they be fictional or non-fictional people.

I do not understand why some people act like this is equivalent to death nor why it means the Inquisitor can no longer be a capable fighter in their own right: There is such a thing as one-armed swordsmanship as an example.

To put in another way: A warrior can still wield a sword, a rogue can still wield a blade as well as toss bombs and a mage can still do magic. They can adapt.

In my opinion, I find the idea that losing a limb means you've lost your potential always and forever to be a mighty bit silly to be honest.

The Inquisitor has to live. Only they know of Solas' plans, and the Mark was killing them, so Solas stopped it from doing that and there was only one way. At least you can get a crossbow arm if you join Sera as a RJ. If the Inqusitor could choose death over Solas saving them, the end scene where you are ready to go to Tevinter to gain allies and stop him would not happen because no one would know what you knew.

Like sure maybe they should have given the option for death, but by having them always live (with a disablity) means they can now play a major role, either background, a chestmaster, an adviser ect

Do you really want to see the quizay get the status as the hoF, who is now just a codex and epilogue slider man?

Where is the problem? Go all Götz von Berlichingen on your enemies and pimp slap those fools with your metal hand.

Not that we will play the IQ again, but I like the thought of my dwarf sucker punching people with a steel hand...

Considering it is a world filled with obscure magic (cf, Alexius' time travel spell) I wouldn't be surprised if there was a spell to restore limbs as well.

It's very fitting the anchor had a downside and wasn't just some epic ancient magic that you could just keep.

It was also probably the best way to move on to a new character next game without the old one having to die or "disappear", as this renders the Inquisitor simply unable to go into combat anymore.

What's the big problem with your character getting crippled anyway? It's not like you can play him/her anymore.

A big theme in DA is power comes with a price, and this is the price for the mark (that was extreamly powerful)

I think having the arm just regrow because of magic would take all the drama out of the whole anchor buisness in general.

You need magic to seal the rifts? Cool, here you go.

The magic is killing you? Oh well, no big deal, just chop off & regrow your arm.

Also you didn't just lop your arm off. I got the impression that Solas destroyed the Anchor and it kind of just disintegrated along with your hand. All that bubbling and spewing going on there. Ya know.
