Just throwing it out there for the sake of visibility, in the hope that the devs will fix this issue in an upcoming patch. Time to put my mage playthrough back on hold, lol.

Video?  Anything?  It's never been a great upgrade to be honest.  The damage resistance is only reduced for a few seconds.

I'm talking about the damage buff for Wild Barrage or whatever it's called that buffs the damage by 100%, but with the drawback of random targeting. It does alter the targeting of EB, but not the damage. I might go ahead and play my mage though; found a skill setup with Vivienne that I liked, including an unbuffed EB.

Felis, you have to realize that the upgrade that supposedly buffs the Energy Barrage damage actually does such thing.

Basic Energy Barrage has 12 projectiles, each dealing 66% damage. That gives us a total of 792% weapon damage on a single target.

The damage upgrade causes every single projectile to deal 166% weapon damage but to different target. That gives us a total of 166% weapon damage on a single target.

The upgrade for Energy Barrage turns it into a less powerful version of the Saarebas' Barrage in multiplayer. However, its base damage is rougly equivalent to the damage of an uncharged Spirit Blade.

Most importantly, you have to realize we are talking about staff damage. Which means it is useless to upgrade Energy Barrage.

What do you mean? Only one projectile hits per enemy? That is not what happens to my gameplay. To op, I have noticed inconsistent damage numbers out of multiple enemies. Many times it seems that those random projectiles only hit for 66% weapon damage, but there are times that some projectiles seem to be doing upgraded numbers (so it should be 166% damage not 100% damage?Huh those descriptions are so vague).

In the end I would conclude that this upgrade definitely needs looking into but I have been using it instead of chain lightning on my KE since it's funny to look at and the total damage is enough to maintain my barrier.

I tested EB with and without the upgrade. Damage per hit is the same. Thus, the upgrade does not boost damage like it is supposed to.

Then tis' a bug. Complain to Biower, give them 0/10 for Trespasser and ask for refund.

No but seriously, send a PM or Reddit post or a Tweet to a Bioware dev about the bug.
