^ And what debacle would that be?
It was essentially the DAIMP Edition of ToRtanic. The multiplayer aspect of the game was full of game-breaking bugs that would force you to either quit, or even exit back to desktop/homescreen/etc. One weekend I kept track, out of 17 games, 2 of them I was able to complete. The other 15 I had to abort due to game-breaking bugs. Stuff like:
-The key to the next area not dropping from the last enemy of current area (host must quit)
-The last enemy of the area simply vanishes forever (host must quit)
-Narnia Door where no geometry loads and you can't go anywhere (you must quit)
-Immortal boss enemy (host must quit)
-Infinite black loading screen (you must quit)
-Cannot move at all forever (you must quit)
And of the few games that I did manage to complete, literally every single one of them entered Zone 5 with an entirely different roster of team members than we started with, due to the amount of quits it took to get us there. Any given game was susceptible to several instances of any combination of the above bugs. It was a total disaster.
BWEamelia swooped in to proclaim that the game was fine, that she'd been playtesting it internally for 3 years, that we were all liars and villains, and much worse. She was downright hostile towards anyone who had anything bad to say about the game. Penguinfetish was the most prominent DAIMP player on those boards, more or less our community leader, providing videos and written guides for the game and trying to be optimistic about it, but when he started to complain about the state of the game, amelia attacked him directly and he got a permaban. PurpGuy also got a permaban for his participation in the discussions, even though that was his first and only warning point. The point came from none other than BioMod02, who was obviously a big DA fan given her avatar.
Whereas other posters who are banned are still visible on profile lookup, PurpGuy got totally deleted. The profile no longer exists at all. He did ****** her off pretty badly. ![]()
It was no stretch of the imagination to conceive that BWEamelia was, in fact, BioMod02 on a personal account, no doubt in an attempt to become more involved with the userbase who had grown into a cult following around her. But once she opened her mouth that all came to a crashing halt. BWEamelia and BioMod02 were gone a month later, with BioMod03 assuming the identity, probably as a sort of damage control.
They say it points doesn't matter. Some have been banned at 10, some 20, and who knows what else. That's the name of the dice roll game.
As mentioned above, PurpGuy got DELETED over one single point. If there is any rhyme or reasoning to the points, I can't figure what it might be.
