Now that I've witnessed Solas turning people into stone powers, I don't think Sandal use "Enchantments" when he did it to the Darkspawns in DA2.

Idk we did ask him how he did it, but maybe he was just being nice and he really meant to say "Hawke you are not on my level to do this, so take this enchantment." Yea that's it.

if you notice the dates in the dairy it takes place over many ages. sandal is far older then we have known.
